sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Princeton Edgar thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I was robbed of 46 seconds!! You don’t say if your grandfather is still with us, but whether he is or isn’t he’d be equally proud wherever he is. It’s great how you’ve kept it original but better, eg modern new tyres etc. Very well done indeed.
This has been my dream project for many years, and I have the know how but unfortunately I don’t have the funds nor do I think I’ll ever will. So I enjoy seeing others get it done.
This is one awesome video. Very well done. Very inspirational as I am about to embark on the same journey with a 1951 M38 that my grandfather taught me to drive on! Very exciting.
What a blast! Going to sit down with my son, watch this video and plan on doing our father/son restore following your example. Can't think of a better way to spend time together and build it from the ground up. BTW: Thanks for telling us it was 4.5 years and not a long 3-day weekend. LOL
Nice! I hope I can get mine looking that good one day. Also good color choice, i also enjoy the sand color. Its currently the color of my 75 CJ5 that I'm working on. Enjoy that thing Jeeps are such a fun vehicle.
Ive had a bunch but loved my 73. It had a built 4.2 and would outdrive a Porsche in the curves ( maybe) and the frame was so rusty she would flex with the best of them. Dam good fun.
I built a 1986 CJ 7 years ago and chose to build up the 258 instead of the overdone route of SB Chevy. The 258 is a solid reliable engine, just a little underpowered. I had the block bored .40 over installed a Crane cam, Offy 4V intake, 450 cfm Holley 4V .Pacesetter coated header. After a few thousand miles i took on my buddy who had a CJ 7 with the 304 that he put a Carter 4V carb and headers on. Each run i was able to beat him, plus it didn't lose the better front to rear weight balance the lighter 6 offers.
This is awesome. Looks like it wasn't in god awful shape to start with either. I always love seeing these get restored instead of rusting away in a field
Shane Raymer thank you! It was in God awful shape before hand though. I just didn't include all the rust repair in the timelapse because it wasn't fun to watch. Had to cut the floors out, something like 28 patches in the fenders and tub, and the entire passenger side was cut off and replaced.
Nice one! Me and my father are currently restoring the CJ-5 my dad sold when I was younger. We bought it back recently after 16 years. 😃 Wish I lived in the US so parts wouldn’t be so hard to get 😇
I pick up my late father in laws dream build next week to start the process! I don't have this type of shop nor any type of knowledge. I am using youtube and a retired mechanic friend! Wish me luck! #compressionandspark
That's what I love about jeeps. The simplest made toy ever, requires nothing but passion. A total newbie could grab one and start tomorrow.
My son loves this video... I have a 1970 CJ-5 that we are going to restore together in a few years.
Gorgeous restoration! Grandpa would be very proud. Great to see an awesome old jeep roll again.
I’ve got a 76 sitting in my garage that I want to do this to. It’s a strong running old beast. I love what you all did. Old Jeeps are the best.
