I would only have done 2 things differently, this is not a rub against you guys!!! You did awesome. I would use that engine, but with a cam for low end torque, and I would have had the frame hot dipped galvanized instead of powder coated.
    This is an AWESOME JEEP!!

My FIRST "car" ... JEEP ! I had a 1985 CJ-7...man this takes me back. I had that thing for almost 5 years.. worked on it quite a bit. Never had to touch that 258 straight 6 though. This video takes me back. NICE WORK Boys...also it is AWESOME to see young guys in the garage. No F'in Play-station in sight !

Well Done! I have often thought of trying a resto but, I get lazy and worry I will not finish it. It was neat to see friend’s become involved in the lifting heavy things department. The year model CJ also gives the option to excellent powertrain choices.
Going with 33’s coupled with the Generals makes wonderful eye candy including good street manners and off-road performance.

Very nice work!...in honor of my best friend who just happened to be my dad, I am building a jeep to..the CJ8 has always been my favorite but I am just a peasant and cannot afford one..but I was able to buy an 82 wagoneer that sat up for about ten years..got the 360 running and made plans to make it into a scrambler..I cut off the roof and windshield frame and removed all the body panels including the hood and grille..I cut off about 4 inches of the outside of the body leaving me with a straight line to build flat sides out of aluminum panels..I have a lot of work to do and for now I have to wait until I get a job before I can have any extra money to put into my project..but I wake up during the night fabricating the windshield frame, hood, grille..I got it all planned out, and will put it into action as soon as possible..I was thinking of a marine paint by Rustoleum called Battleship Gray..hope it looks as good as yours..and those look like the seats I want..need a backseat to for my dogs to.

Very good job on the body and chassis in general...and excellent choice of final paint color! Personally, I have a big affinity for the 4.0-liter HO I-6 engines...and would have 'salvage yarded' a full engine, 5-speed, transfer from an old YJ and simply did a quick 'bearing/oil pump/cam' refresh...I'm just not a big v-8 fan for Jeeps (yeah, I know, AMC had the 304...but still)...
Take care of it...should last a lifetime, if maintained. As you 'get older', you'll probably want the hardtop...and never forget, you can add 'aftermarket air' for about $1k...and that 350 will definitely drive a compressor!

HELL YEAH FELLAS! Just bought 79 CJ7. It needs a lot more work than that one haha. Rebuilt the carburetor (my first time i was a little worried), replaced the gas tank and hoses, fuel pump...smaller stuff. And of course it didńt crank. I got down on myself thinking ¨damn that was dumb to rebuild that carb¨. Come to find out, pinched a line mounting the gas tank back on. My carburetor work turned out ok! Íll send you guys some pics of it. Maybe we could do a collaboration on it haha. Or maybe yáll can give me some pointers.
    Great video for sure!
