      I recommend a simple mic setup for a more natural representation.
      Since you peeps seem to be into Rode, maybe do an NT4 stereo overhead and one of the ribbons out front.

      @nnathangrahamm 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Arman Amirkhanyan I prefer no microphones, even if they don't eq the drums in the track, microphones tend to give you a less than ideal sample of what the drums sound like in real life. a room mic like the one they've used in this video gives a much more accurate picture of what the drums sound like in the real life.

    Third: YES! More drum videos! But also more guitar videos!

      +Richard Harrold Vox never was an American company. I guess you could say Vox is a Japanese company since it was bought by Korg but it was founded in England.

    I thought, for a non-drummer, the Captain asked really good questions about the drums which, honestly, I didn't hear great, compelling answers back to. Brits don't sound confident in themselves, especially the maker of these drums. No where near as high energy or as fun as the guitar videos :)

    • @daveseemerollin6357
      @daveseemerollin6357 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, we just don't unnecessarily hype stuff up. Americans come across as overtly enthusiastic to a degree that it seems extremely over the top, disingenuous, and cheesy.

    The problem with British made things is they tend to focus on high end, boutique, master crafted and expensive; not something a journeyman could afford. Think British guitar makers and pen makers (Yard O'Lead, for example). The *cheapest* shell pack on Andertons website from these guys is £1.9k, and thats for bass and two toms. Snares starting at £579. Sorry, I know you take pride in your product, but when I go shopping, first thing I'll be looking at is price; your prices exceed what I'd pay for a far more substantial top end kit from a brand. If this is you doing mass production you're not doing it correctly.

    • @Jez2008UK
      @Jez2008UK 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +gggfx - Agreed. I'm afraid though that this is *the* problem in the UK. I did exactly the same as you did and went on Anderton's to check out the prices, YIKES !!!! The recent Video from Anderton's is about the Law of Diminishing Returns. Is a £2.4k basic kit going to sound *that* much better than one that's less than half of that ? PS - I bet I could have found some dead spots on that snare - in my experience, they all have them.

    • @fuzzylogiceire
      @fuzzylogiceire ปีที่แล้ว

      What are these more substantial kits you speak of? Compare German made Sonor, USA made Gretsch/DW/Ludwig, and Japanese made Tama/Yamaha kits to these and they are similarly expensive drums. Drums produced in first world economies have higher labour costs. I'm sure you are referring to Chinese made drums by the major manufacturers as that is what more affordable high end kits typically are. And this isn't a knock on Chinese made drums as I've owned Made in China kits from Mapex and Yamaha that I've been very happy with.
