I genuinely love Iquazus character so much. I liked him from the beginning but thought he would be limited to a side character that we would kill in a meaningless fight. And thats what he was. But the hatred that he felt towards us because of that was so strong that it took over an AI god and managed to mess everything up. Because in the end thats what Iguazu is, a failure, and he hates it. I don't think he ever truly hated us as a person but hated us because we represented everything he wanted to be and couldn't achieve. His hatred towards us was just a manifestation of the hate he felt towards himself being so useless. The only one who even shows him a little bit of respect is Michigan, and thats only when he isn't around. Iguazu has been broken down, humiliated, and disregarded. All alone in the world he was tormented by voices in his head that started driving him mad, until eventually he was killed by us, disregarded and humiliated yet again. His anger towards us and his own incompetence is so great that he was the only one to have any sense of self. Not Walter or Carla or even Snail. It was the good for nothing Iguazu, with only anger so great that it could over power AllMind. And even with all that he failed. Because thats what Iguazu is. A failure.
Great examination of the character. He reminds me of the Greek myth of Sisyphus. Keeps trying but fucking up over and over for eternity

Yup thats a running theme. Lots of hivemind or conglomerate things. Big focus on factions, grand scale rather than individuals-except us. The single variable in this massive scheme. Iguazu (and imo arguably freud to some degree) are the only guys who sorta do what THEY want to do, even if iguazu is a failure he still does what he wants for rhe most part and he progresses and strengthens far enough to make it aways into the story. And freud is less concerned with actually doing as snail says and more about just having fun fighting (though its a stretch to say hes really an INDIVIDUAL)
@@aaz1010Iguazu is a forgettable individual who forces himself into someone else’s story. He wants to just be acknowledged as someone worth keeping around but he keeps getting put down and humiliated. And his anger is probably only amplified by all the other peoples rage that are trapped inside him. All of this rage from everyone you have ever fought drives him to insanity. But even through all this he doesn’t lose his sense of self, he is Iguazu for better or for worse. Eventually he manages to break free of the voices, he finally manages to escape, then he is face to face with the reminder of how inferior he is to everyone else. The final fight is just a broken man trying to prove to himself that he’s worth something, and he fails. He wanted what we had. Strength, friends, and respect. Instead he dies alone, pushing away everyone that ever could have cared for him. He dies alone and empty, the only other person being the reminder of his own failures. Definitely my favorite character from the game and possibly my favorite character that fromsoftware has ever made.
While I agree with everything else, I don't think it was so much his anger that allowed him to have a sense of self, but the fact that he was gen 4 augmented. Which none of the other guns were, except for Raven. Walter says hearing voices is common with gen 4 augmented humans. It's clear something about them lets them link with the coral and retain control of their actions(mostly).

My build didn't quite agree with the last phase. Funny energy claws kept smacking me in the face. Had an easier time killing both Sea Spiders while weaving around Iguazu.
No it fucking didn’t, my dude just brute forced it, which unfortunately is pretty common for the last phase
When Iguazu charged me in his scripted final attack where he explodes, I managed to squeeze in a shotgun shot that hit exactly when the scripted explosion happened, so I thought that it was something one could miss and get a bad ending lmao. This made the ending extra special to me
I ran out of shotgun (handlemann) ammo and it auto purged so it looked like I gave him a proper right hook hard enough to blow him up

This is peak Armored Core boss design. Not necessarily the most difficult one but gawd damn what an awesome and outrageously good boss fight !
Idk this was the hardest one for me, lol. Mostly cause of the multiple targets I keep locking into though

Just did this boss fight last night. Man, it's one hell of a fight. Not the hardest but definitely a spectacular boss fight. When Ayre showed up to help in phase two I lost it. I was also happy to beat it with my build. Dual plasma missle launchers on the shoulders, lance in the left hand, and gatling in my right.
Irregulars. God that name hits so hard for us Veterans.

@@Bread-able in Armored Core: For Answer (AC4A), Irregulars were Armored Core pilots (Called NEXTs for NEXT gen Armored Cores) that went against the natural order of Corporations or fought with non-standard tactics such as setting traps, ambushes, etc. Irregulars sometimes fought other irregulars, but they mostly fought against the corporations. They were basically wildcards, but they did have allegiances usually to cities or nations.

Aww man, nice work… I had to make for a bit because dual Zimmermanns + songbirds didn’t carry enough ammo into the second(?) phase.
I then realised I’m not using the songbirds much and promptly saddled the zimms on the shoulders and used the other kinetic shotguns (the handlemanns iirc) and sure enough, the faster cycling rate let me get of ~6-8 shots on his stagger state and delete his health in quarters (assuming I didn’t get any extra hits in after he got control back)
I used this loadout to beat this boss, enjoyed the weapon swap mechanic i had not really fooled around with it too much but it was sick once i got the beat of it. Have a like.
I used the weapons hanger to double up on the shotgun goodness. Dual Zimmermanns and dual Handelmanns. The stagger/punish cycle was very good
@@normallymute0131 i stumbled uppn the Zimmerman on the first playthrough and have had to pull myself away from using it as a crutch as its just that good. Third playthrough i expiremented heavily with energy weapons. Will probably do some bonkers explosives build with 4th playthrough. Love the game
I used the coral lance and coral moonlight. Swap em inbetween fights and they absolutely destroy.
It sucks there's no coral pile under because I'd 100% replace the lancer if there was.

if it didnt have the gank fight in phase one id like it a lot more. the little dudes are so insignificant but get in the way so often it just feels annoying when my aim grabs them instead of just nuking phase one lol

As soon as I realized what was happening, I burst out laughing. Why the fuck is Iguazu, of all people, the final boss? Inconsequential Iguazu? Iguazu the int? Of all the poeple Allmind could've assimilated to fight us, she picked fucking Iguazu?
Frankly, Iguazu was the only suitable candidate. He's a 4th gen augmented human and his goals align with ALLMIND's: dispose of 621 and Ayre. Sulla was ALLMIND's prevoius champion, but 621 killed him. Later, O'Keefie rejected ALLMIND and 621 killed him too. And the others are either corporats or freedom fighters and they don't have the needed augmentation.
Also, sheer fucking salt: The dude has this much of salt towards you that it helps him to make it to the final chapter, overwhelm ALLMIND and Ayre to fight you mano-o-mano and charge at you one last time while his mech breaks apart.

@@orangesoda4535 no, the devs definitely knew what they were cooking. Iguazu became a final boss not "because", but "in spite of". 621 had the freedom of choice, was better treated and even the voice in his head was a waifu material, while he was augmented against his will, was mistreated (even with Michigan's best intentions) and the voices messed him up. In JP dub Iguazu even says that he admired 621. Combine it with hot-blooded nature to pick a fight with people he really shoudn't which becomes the reason of his troubles and ultimate demise.
Nice spoilers bro, not even 5% of players have gotten to the NG++ story divergence, and you're just gonna drop the final boss just like that with no warnings at all.
That said, really good job on this fight. For me it was absolute hell that had to be cheesed with missile spam, because getting combo'd in phase 3 was practically a death sentence, so your relatively easy clear has me envious.

this fight was rly ass compared to the other 2 final ones, both thematically and mechanically, u can barely make out iguazu from his minions and u cant even aim properly cause u keep locking on to them, then he literally spawns 2 sea spiders and has nothing else that interesting or original to his fight, not to mention that the actual finalest final boss of the game is just some asshole side character like wtf, ngl this rly soured the end of a masterpiece of a game for me
What are you talking about? It’s not my personal favorite ending but Iguazu being the final villain is actually really creative he was a loser the entirety of the game constantly hating you because he could never be better than you he’s forgettable and that’s the point. He’s the last person you would expect to be the final boss by luck and chance Allmind chose him cuz no one else was still around his entire character is based around being a loser. It’s to show just how much jealousy and malice he had it’s what killed him it’s pretty poetic actually and a good lesson for people who act like this in real life.
@raginlemon9261 just cause it's unexpected doesn't make it good, I get ur other points but it'd work for a normal final boss not the grand finale of the game, iguazu just has no direct involvement in the main plot, if allmind had more presence in the fight it would've been better but it just rly doesn't hit anywhere near as close as the 2 other final fights did, those messages u mentioned abt what iguazu represent and all that could be a great side story but u can't argue its a good way to wrap up a story that is clearly discussing themes of a different nature like human progress, fear of the unknown, crossing the red line, etc

Trick is the Energy sword ya use with melee is the Helicopters weakness, Honestly my advice is to Bum rush the fucker with The assault boost to his face and Then do two Swipes of Energy sword, Rockets and gun shots and try to Either A dodge his attacks,B Find cover or C as soon as Sword regens assault boost again. It can be a bit RNG if he leaves area or not (seek cover if he does) but I've managed to beat that boss twice now With no deaths in the mission By being aggressive with the sword.
Don't give up man you got this! The game is amazing and ya shouldn't let that dumb helicopter keep ya down!
