@@elrey8876 It is very heavy a meal to fry with only olive oil, but it is very delicious... I give you a tip as a Chef: put 2/3 olive oil 1/3 neutral ;) a lot of flavour and a higher smoke point . Xoxo
Mike you are favourite food blogger! Love watching you eat with such joy! You really bring a smile on my face everytime I watch your videoes! Also I followed your recommendation for Vietnam and I loved them! Thanks a ton!
I just went to the Chicken BBQ that you recommended on K-town downtown and it was fantastic I love the soy chicken, the service was great and the ramen they had there was fantastic and I did not expect the reman to be that big for just seven dollars. I'm going to keep watching your channel for even more recommendations.
Korean chicken is amazing. In terms of the flavor of the chicken itself, it's pretty high up there with all the other best places you can think of. For me, the best part of Korean fried chicken is the versatility, creativity and the sides. There's a place that makes really good American-style wings nearby, but the best you can do is eat a few sticks of carrot and celery alongside. Don't get me wrong, that's still pretty bomb; but for me it doesn't hold a candle to the pickled radish cubes and kimchi you can get alongside Korean chicken. It doesn't even end there, you can get like... fried chicken cheese balls, a ton of different sauces, those spicy Korean rice cakes etc. Even if you're going for the basic experience, having spicy fried chicken with cheese sprinkled on top and pickled radish cubes is an experience you need to have if you enjoy fried chicken and want to say you have lived a satisfying life. I'm not even kidding, when the radishes run out I will drink the liquid brine they come in, it's that good. 🤣
Korean fried chicken has got to be the best fried chicken 🍗 not only is it crispy juicy and crunchy but you have all the different sauces ...I love this videos so much Mikey, you are amazing ,thanks for sharing 💖🤗...x
So glad I watched this. I can't believe the irony. A few months ago i tried those olive oil chicken wings (a surprised lunch from a friend) and I was in love with them been trying to find the stores location but the box had no website on it... Im so glad its at a easy to get to location...Thank u! I didn't even know u could fry chicken in extra virgin olive oil. I tried it in Olive Oil.
I'm glad I ran across this video again. I saw when it came out last year, I'd never tried Korean fried chicken before. It looked so good, I googled it and sure enough there's a place in the Asian community a couple miles away. It was amazing! Very similar to what you have in your video, sauced/unsauced. Juicy, flavorful, crispy, and not greasy chicken. The rice flour makes a great crust. I've been hooked on it since, it's the best fried chicken I've ever had. So thanks Mikey!
For those who live in New York, there's also a Pelicana Chicken in K-Town in Manhattan. It's located inside Food Gallery 32 on West 32nd street. When you go inside, it's on the top floor. If you order to go, you get a LOT of chicken for the price you pay.
This video is probably from his backlog chest, one of many that he made before relocating to the Seattle area. I wish a teleporter existed, because then I could eat around the world in little time 😋.
I had fried chicken when I was in S Korea and it was the BEST. I'm so happy to hear there is good Korean fried chicken in the U S. Yummers 😋. Thanks Mike!
Thank you a lot for the juicy video :D I am craving that chicken now! Will need to make use of my fryer. On a side note, olive oil is not san oil you should use for deep frying and frying in high temperature as it does not have a high smoking point. Hence, not really all that healthy due to what happens with it in high temp.
It doesn't taste as good as what you got in Korea for a simple reason. US chicken (and most meat) has been bred and engineered for _yield,_ not for _flavor._ Check out the book "The Dorito Effect" for the history of this problem. It's a real eye-opener.
If Americans preferred gamey tasting livestock test groups and marketing would have figured it out by now. It would cost 5x more and Karen would be buying it up at Whole Foods with her kids vaccine money.
7:49 bro he’s next to yupdukk! He also went there in a video for otgw with Dan and yi! I went there for a reward in school, and boy... was it spicy. Korean spicy. I’m asian(Filipino) but I cannot handle that type of spice, so we got calpicos! Would recommend this and the place in the video, I would love to go soon!

Mikey, if you like Korean fried chicken try 9 Delicacies in Everett. They use a boneless tender. The sauce is so yummy! I hear their bulgogi sandwich is awesome as well.
i JUST ate chicken so now im finally watching this on a full stomach, checkmate

I was so conflicted everytime he said kfc I had to remind myself he’s talking about the Korean fried chicken
Interesting - I thought olive oil wasn't good for frying because it has a low smoke point.
Genau
thats why he made the joke saying 'this KFC is better than the other KFC'

@14:33 Did anyone else hear something else when he actually apparently said “you could ski down this...” 😂😂😂😭🤦🏻♀️
Mike is the best. He always brightens my mood.
16$ for chicken
In my country that's 6 whole chicken
That's because he is in NYC
Where do you live
Ikr, one pcs of fried chicken at my country only cost u around $0.40-$1 😂
Where I live, $16 will get you almost nothing...
GG4GJake I live in NY and would not pay no damn $16 for a few pieces of fried chicken.
I don't know how you get around the world so fast. Do you have like a hotpot pot teleporter?
Am I the only one?
Haha yes like the TARDIS but a hotpot instead 😂

@@ipissed Not what the book "The Dorito Effect" is talking about.
I think the greasiness is why Koreans love chicken with beer. Cause the bitterness and carbonation helps plus the pickled radishes
Exactly why.
