You are a QUEEN, Cyndi, thank you for always being you. I'm 28, still trying to find my sound, but you inspire and motivate me so much to keep searching. Thank you.
Cyndi is one of the most underrated artists, from her song writing to her 4 octave range. A phenomenal talent. And the fact that you didn't discuss any of the tracks off unhook the stars or sisters of avalon is a crime. You don't know is so relevant today
I think Cyndi Lauper is one the most underrated voices in the art world. She's impressive versatility, four vocal octaves, and is a wonderful light lyric soprano. It's posed worthily strolling through a wide range of genres, and still preserving that essence that makes you say: Oh, that Cyndi Lauper! The same one that broke a historical tradition of reserving authenticity to the heterosexual male. Love u, vocal king!
Lauper is often overlooked as the quirky Betty Boop of the 80s. However, she's successfully tackled everything from The Blues and Country to Dance and Musical Theatre. She's a musical chameleon that was the victim of systematic ageism and a market that didn't understand her.
Legitimately my all time biggest artist inspiration of all time!! She has effect my art in such a spectacular way!!!! I love her infinitely & beyond!!!!!
Always so joyous! She really is fantastic. I've seen her live and it was like an out of body experience. I couldn't believe this icon was so close to me. Her autobiography is also outstanding
Such an inspiring , talented lady. I hope I look as great and have her energy and tenacity when I get to 67. Everybody into music needs to hear her back catalog , A rare talent with a beautiful inner voice. She's healed so many wounds for me
Wow!! Great interview but far too short. I could have listened to that interview for a couple of hours at least. Cyndi is fantastic. Amazing voice and a caring heart a big as the sun.
I would like to ask her if she thinks it's easier to become a star now or back in the 80's? With so many people releasing music like myself so easily now via apple music and Spotify, is it harder to stand out?
No, but she deconstructed them and legitimately made them her own. The original version of Girls is radically different and Billy Steinberg who wrote True Cors heavily praised Lauper's handling of the track. Also, she did write Time After Time which is another signature song
Thank you Zane. This was fun.

Cyndi has an iconic voice. One of the Queen's of the 80's. She is still inspiring to me after all these years.

You mean Hat Full of Stars? Rarely people mention her post 80s music and it's so predictable. Her 90s albums were incredible and deserve more credit
@@popland1977 yes, I was typing quickly in a fit of disbelief
Oh I agree. It was far too brief an interview.
Hat Full Of Stars is her best album.

She didn’t write Girls Just Wanna Have or True Colors, her signature songs.
