Wow, this video was pure gold. In addition to learning how to record over a beat, I also got my long standing question answered - Do I need to get the entire song right in one take? What if I perform perfectly all the way and mess up at the very end? It'd suck so much to go back and retry the whole song again. Thanks to your video, I know now I only have to redo the sections I messed up. Thanks again!
Great video! What I usually do to search TH-cam for a lyric-less song is to search for "karaoke" along with the song's title, but I can imagine "instrumental" would work too. At least if there are no background vocals in the song.

Hey just wanted to say if you can't find a song instrumental by searching 'instrumental' trying using the key word 'karaoke' instead often it helps. I can find acoustic versions and what not just by searching that. Hope that helps.
As a cover "artist" (I'm a fandumber) you get copyright issues on some musics, but mostly they just tell you adds will be put on your video and if you agree that's alright. Sometimes they will block your videos on some supports, like Tablets and phones, or even by countries. The songs that are the most blocked on some devices are disney ones. Popular songs will just ask you to let adds on them to give them some money ya know.

If you use a smartphone, you can try downloading Moises on both Android & iOS. Basically, the app can remove/lessen the volume of vocals, drums, bass, etc. It's free and really easy to use.

There are some free audio editing apps, but none I use or would recommend.

Go to the menu at the top, click transport > click record new track. Start singing.
