Dear Lily, you have done well but let just brief you a bit, akosombo dam has been declared a security zone since long, the security men on guard were right, l quiet remember in the year 1979 when the late president Rawlings sieze power, he intended to pay a visit to the dam but security men never allow him, infact the security men don't know he was the head of state at that time, it took about an hour before the chief security officer stationed at the dam cleared him, lam talking of the early days of 1979, so sister lam not surprised at the happenings at akosombo, akosombo is a security zone, just take it easy, that is why we have a single assess to the township but no other exist, one entrance everywhere is corvered with water

Don't get disappointed, that township, the Dam and the entire area is a security zone. What you should have done is to go to the VRA (Volta River Authority) head office in Accra to enquire to know the regulations before embarking on your trip.Nonetheless you have done well. There is another Hydroelectric Dam downstream on the same river, also called Kpone Dam,But l am sorry it's also a security area

My Dear you keep saying photo oo photo. Akosombo is a security installation. Listen to me please am an elderly woman and last year I went to Akuse where the Akosombo extends to. I was in a group of 3 but you know we wanted to see the dam and take pictures the security operatives turned us down flatly. You know I understood immediately and took it in good faith. That moment I felt so proud of my country Ghana why because I realized for the first time that our government has the interest of the people and the nation at heart or the security of Ghana is paramount. You know the best they did for us full blooded Ghanaians? They allowed us to watch without taking photos. Meanwhile in the far distance we could see them monitoring us. An elderly woman like me but they will not compromise because per adventure if anyone tries anything funny the whole of Ghana will go down. I guess you understand what I mean. This is the reason and the only reason you were not allowed to take pictures of the place, pictures which could end up in the wrong hands. From that time I have felt confident drinking water without any qualms. I started watching your program just about 3 weeks ago and I must say you're doing well. Kudos. There are so many places in Ghana where you would be more than welcome so be discouraged. Ghanaians are very hospitable people so if for any reason you're not welcome anywhere then just know that they are doing it with a bigger picture in mind.

Pls dont be annoyed. That place is purely a serious security zone.If something happens to that dam now, more than 100 villages and towns are going to be affected. The water u see over there is an artificial water that is been blocked.

The Residential Lodge at 3:33 was built for Ghana's first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Also, This isn't the only Dam/Source of power in Ghana. We have Bui Dam in the North, Asogli Power Plant in Accra, and a few other power generation points all across Ghana 🇬🇭

Out of total installed electricity capacity of about 5,300 MW in Ghana as at now only about 1,500 MW is hydro. The Akosombo dam now supplies less than 40% of Ghana's electricity with the rest coming mainly from thermal, and some small portion from solar, etc.

Sorry for feeling disappointed dear but the Akosombo dam and its surroundings are topmost on Ghana's security zones....the dam is one of the most important national assets and they have alot of restrictions around it.....unless of course it is a period where they are allowing the public to see things around there....which will of course also be done under very strict security procedures........You are doing amazing dear but I thinknyou should understand that.

Please accept the restrictions rules kwahu is ordinary place as compare to akosombo Ghana we depend on akosombo dam you are showing this to the whole world it's very bad not everywhere they'll allow you to film it's security zone don't you an enemy can bring the whole nation down through akosombo dam you are doing it for fun but it's very dangerous at another angle

Dodi Island is not worth the money not even a 3rd of the money. So, do worry about it, you missed nothing. It is completely overrated

I agree, there is nothing special on that Island. There are plans to develop the Island, they want to build Hotels, safari, water park etc but I don't know when they will start the project.
Akosombo has a lot on the board but yet to be executed.
