Im not a trucker but my father was and a good friend of ours was as well so i know and appreciate what you concrete cowboys do every day. As Merle Haggard said " the white line is the lifeline the nation".
I have been trucking for the past fifteen years. I used to do 400 to 600 a day and still made it home every night. It gave me to much time to be alone with my thoughts so I went on to do local P&D. I'm still gone from home about fourteen hours a day but it's easier on me.. "well kinda" Your songs about the road really touch home.. I worked for star Transport out of Morton Illinois and I was talking to a fellow driver who said trucking saved his marriage because he's gone all the time. I didnt have the heart to tell him his wife was sleeping around while he was gone. It's sad that theres people that's blind to see the real reason but when they tell there story the other person sees what's going on behind closed doors before they can.
I guess this song hits home hard. 3 years of my trucking life I was married. He was my co driver for so long but he didn't want to do it anymore, he wanted everything and a 40 hour job wasn't going to pay the bills and what he wanted so I wanted back out on the road, he didn't we ended up divorcing because this is my life, it takes someone special to do this job. So now I'm out on the road alone with my dog.

I love this version! I play it all the time and my fiance says that sounds like us. Couple months ago it was us. He said me or the job, I basically told him I can still make Laredo. It's a rough life some days and it takes special people to do the job and to stay at home while their loved one is doing the job. Thankfully my fiance and I patched things up, but we both know the threat is still there.

Well, I'm a trucker...home every night and faithful. My first wife cheated on me and the third time was what I needed to divorce her. I remarried and after three years and a daughter she cheated on me as well. I suppose it must be me. I am still with her and now two daughters. Life has some heavy emotional beatings and I got some nice scars but I have two little girls who need their pops so I will do my best and give my all till the end I suppose. I realize why you never hear from anyone after they die. I don't think I would want to come back either. You sing this song quite well Brad!
I'm " only " an intercity driver; home every every night. A promise I made to my wife many years ago. But I can feel for all you guys and gals out there on the big road, living out of a sleeper cab & a duffle bag. Winter is on its' way up here in Seattle; I'm telling you right here - RIGHT NOW -- NO LOAD is worth RISKING YOUR LIFE !!! Make DAMN sure you take it easy; follow a local trucker if possible -- they know the roads & weather better than you do.
This was haunting... beautiful voice. Thanks for putting our lives in the public eye. I started driving otr back in 2017, now regional and home weekly. My wife and daughter are very supportive. Thankfully I waited to start trucking until daughter was almost 14, she didn't grow up without me.

God this songs hits so deep and can't imagine trucking back in my dad's time when you had to find a payphone just to make a call but even with cell phones nowadays and being able to video chat is just as bad in my opinion, you get to hear and see your love ones but not able to be with them is what hurts the most. I've been through countless girlfriends & a few wife's and I'm not even in my thirties but thankfully I've not had kids and put them through barely seeing them and being raised by there mom.

I had a great life on the road my wonderful wife of 30 years passed away in May of 2012 from cancer, it was a HUGE loss for me as well as our son and daughter but we made it. I love to hear you sing you have a BEAUTIFUL voice I Hope you are still driving your truck and singing your song I look forward to watching your video and your music.😚
Wow what an amazing voice. Love the songs. I was a 3rd generation trucker until a bad accident took me out. I am married to a man who took over my job, he is 26 years invested, and now my 23 year old son decided to drive, he is 2 years in. It is not an easy life. However if you are willing to stick it out through the good times. Bad times, and everyday stresses you can make anything work. We have been married 30 years. The only thing I would have changed was the accident that took me off the road. I miss my old pete and the places I traveled, back when women were not really accepted to kindly. It never took my love of the road away from me. I sure do miss the bad coffee and late nights. I send a prayer every night to all the truckers out there trying to make a living and keep a hold on their families. Be safe out there and know that you are appreciated for every trailer you haul and every minute you put in to those long hauls, lonely nights, dangerous roads, and dealing with 4 wheel jerks. My oldest daughter is a state trooper for my state, and I call her the highway angel. She tends to look out for you truckers a little more when you're passing through Indiana because of me and our long line of truckers. God Bless each and everyone of you. May God be your co-pilot and you make it home to see you're families. Sincerely, Patty Finn.

Just the emotions of the original song is rough. But you put it together beautifully. Can't count the times i as a lady trucker was told he'll be long gone. Thank you Brad.
I don't drive trucks but I run a scale house at a plant in Texas and I've met a lot of drivers in the years I've been here. Many of the guys I meet talk about being away too long and looking forward to a long break at home, so this version of the song struck a cord with me. Great voice and stay safe on the road. 👍
On day 71 away from the house. 6 more days....the best advice I can give to anyone is before you get in that cab and start a 40 year career, weigh all your options and pick something else. Jarvis Combs I love you more then words could ever describe. Thank you for everything you do for us. Always know this woman is here waiting on you. I'm yours and only yours.
I'm glad to have a great woman that stands by me while I do what I love.. My son is twenty now and over seas serving our country.. Hated missing so much with him while I drove.. Like I said.. Your songs or the way you sing them just lets me know how lucky I am.. Thanks. If you are ever passing through N.C. send a message and I will buy you a beer or coffee. I 95 is ten miles away..
nice! another brother trucker singin' awesome country music, thank you for share with us
You've given me so much inspiration as a truck driver. I went otr about a year ago and it was one of the scariest things I've ever done. I left my daughter and wife home to chase this dream and ur videos have kept me right during this time.
Well done to all the truck drivers male and female world wide you do a great job stay safe and well done 👏 ❤.keep trucken.
I just started my truck driving job and i thank god everyday that i have a very loving wife that understands my passion for truck driving and she fully supports me thank you baby i love you and the kids with all my heart
Hello Dennis 👋 how are you ??
If ever they make a new Smokey and the bandit movie, we already know the part you deserve. Keep on trucking brother.
Make an album of all the truck songs I'd pay 15 bucks for it and I know a few other drivers who would why not one of our own rich
I'd second that, I'd pay more
I want to make a good song
Hell yeah!
Count me in.
I'm in
Hoss that was pretty good! I think old George Strait would be proud! Keep up the great work! !!!
Great job Brad!!! You would make King George proud.
That is how the song should have been song and written the first time. One hell of a talent Mr James
This brings back many memories of my lone days out on the big road as a owner op. Late night rides listening to a driver singing into the cb. Your voice is soothing.
I was blessed to have married a very strong and independent lady some 48 years ago! She dealt with 6-8 months deployments in the U.S. Navy for 22 years and then 25 years of my driving over the road!! It takes a very special lady to live the life of a Navy and truck driver's wife!! I love Honey!!
I am a truck drivers wife of 26 years and for the first 6 years I was a rider but if you can’t beat ‘em join em and that’s what I did and I now have been a team driver for the last 23 years with my husband we have good and bad days but to be together is what is was all about I love that man with my every being and glad we made that choice together
I recently got back on the OTR long haul and have not been home for a month. I have a girlfriend that I love alot and this song just made me cry. I hope this does not happen to me or anyone else. I love my girlfriend more than anything but driving is the only career I have left. Prayers and wishes go out to all drivers and their families
Love it! I half expected my wife to tell me that every time I called home
My dad is truck driver. You guys have the heard in world. My dad is hero. If you don't get work long hours nobody would n't have food or clothes and everything else .
Awww I was listening to the George straight version when I was driving truck in Wyoming... Really got me emotional!
I’m 100 miles from that Wyoming line right now
I guess this song hits home hard.
Girl you hang in there. There is a man out there for you some where. I'm a truck drivers wife yes it is hell but when you love someone the way I say I love him there is no other man crosses my mind. Your right it takes a strong person to do this. I never thought I could but when I met Jarvis i knew that I could do it cause I love him. Your in my prayers stay strong and thank you for everything you do.
He's a really great singer, I love his voice and melodies his lyrics are always on point, he will forever be missed, You're a real fan of country music.
My brother who just become a truck driver this year. Growing up he also wanted to drive the big rigs. Thank you Taz for sharing this with me.
Dang near quit my job the other day. This song Hit like hell for me a few days ago. was sitting in Billings montana waiting for the truck to get fixed and got a call my dad ended up in the hospital. (Fyi he is doing way better). My girlfriend has a few mental health problems she is dealing with and Im unable to help her or be with my dad. I love the road but I am not loving this feeling. I got the truck fixed and was talking to my girlfriend and she asked where I was stopping. When I said if i hurry I can make Cheyenne it HIT and hit hard. I could not believe what I said and just the thought of her leaving hit bad. I love this version of The song Brad James, you Did wonderful on it
BEST version I have heard a quality Country Voice
If you haven't lived this" you won't understand it " for those of us who have We have paid a hell of a price . 43 yrs and still going and I don't know why.
Oh this is one song that is so sad..I am a retired trucker & I can say one thing.I still miss my big truck, but I'll be settin right here waitin faithfully for my truck drivin hubby to retire & to come home.. as the sayin goes..takes a special breed to be a trucker but also takes a special breed to make a couple work in the profession..keep singin..loved it..
Hi Candy 👋 He's a really great singer, I love his voice and
melodies his lyrics are always on point, he will
forever be missed, You're a real fan of country
music.
My Grandpa drove a truck my dad drove a truck my husband drives a truck i changed the words using the ones that you do years ago thanks for a great song
Hello Mitzi 👋 how are you doing tonight, hope you’re having a great weekend ?
Well, I'm a trucker...home every night and faithful. My first wife cheated on me and the third time was what I needed to divorce her. I remarried and after three years and a daughter she cheated on me as well. I suppose it must be me. I am still with her and now two daughters. Life has some heavy emotional beatings and I got some nice scars but I have two little girls who need their pops so I will do my best and give my all till the end I suppose. I realize why you never hear from anyone after they die. I don't think I would want to come back either. You sing this song quite well Brad!
william J. singleton Dont worry buddy if they cheat on you they aint worth of you.
You are better of without them, trust me.
Its their looss not yours
Dont worry she isnt worth it.
You will find a good person in your life
Why do Good Men end up with lousy Women And Good Women end up with Lousy Men?
Dude.. There's a country song right there..!! 😅🤣
Purely awesome , brought tears to my eyes
Brad does a great job singing his songs.
Have a beautiful voice.
I've been driving for some long hard years and this song hits you in heart.. deffinetly one of your best!
Somewhere between Tom T. Hall and Conway Twitty. Awesome my friend. I've never been more sure of anything. You, sir are going to be a star!
hope you are right he was a jewel..the best new country and western secret that needs the right one to hear him
Animator Pros Whiteboard Animation Video this rocks

Awesome voice buddy!!!
Thank you for your amazing music 🎶 and God bless you Amen 🙏❤️
Came home to an empty house once, the struggle is real!!! But it's a lifestyle , a habit.
Boy has this hit home...the love of my life found someone new as well, and he was no trucker...i was told over the phone by her sister..that was the hardest thing i ever had to go through but at least i had my dog and .y family on the road so i just keep driving..what else can i do...
Just amazing, you're very talented. Nice to have songs that relate to our profession.
-Brian
Damn good version!!!! Thank you!!!
Brad James you did an awesome job on this song
Just got diagnosed stage 4 liver failure and cdl class A is over and turned in company truck today 💔😢
O the feels on this is more then george straits and im not a trucker or trucker wife but my hibby works 16 to 18hr days and he on the rd late at night those calls are calls noone should recieve or sleep worried what those calls will bring. Im literally crying on this version! Hope someone recongizes your talents gets yourself an album. Amazing cover

Great job my father put 42 years out on the road .I been out on the road 35 years song makes me think of my dad I miss him gets lonesome out here love your music
I love this version of this song. It was so sad yet so true, This lifestyle takes 2 very special types of people to make it work. God Bless you!
I 💜that song it's great thank ya for sharing reminds me of an old flame I 🖤'd from Cheyenne
OUTSTANDING version. I love it!
I drove a truck for 33 years and due to health issues I had to retire in 2016. I had a great life on the road my wonderful wife of 30 years passed away in May of 2012 from cancer, it was a HUGE loss for me as well as our son and daughter but we made it. Had I had known what was coming I would have left the road alot sooner but you never know. She understood my life and was a great support. Brothers and Sisters on the road stay safe and remember to stay in touch with those you love.. God Speed, Dennis Shulaw aka: Graywolf.
Memories of when I was OTR. I lost my wife and kids do to my job.
You are not alone brother I lost my wife and 2 boys do to the career too 13 years married divorced August 22nd 2018
I was a trucker for over 20 years and I have lost a few relationships being a driver
I no the feeling of losing someone because of being away on the highway longer than being home
God bless y'all Truckers and thank you for your sacrifice🇺🇸
Brilliant mate big shout out to all us truck drivers.
Love Brads Music was on the road 32 years and they took me off for medical reasons
Beautiful remake. I know the feeling.

Love this song great job brad james.
My ex-husband and I were on the road for 19 years and it was fantastic, and at least we were together.
I have to admit this is almost as good as the original and I'm a big George strait fan! George's number one black fan
This was hard ,but true ,i was reading the comments, and my hat off to all the women on here , you see as soon as i got in a truck, well she left ... now all the kids are gone, and i relate to this song... great job
God bless our women many have been to hell and back but stayed with her man, 44 years now retired she lived through it all, I was a rambler all my life and it takes a special woman to stick, she took many trips with me over the years.
I love to hear you sing you have a BEAUTIFUL voice I
Hope you are still driving your truck and singing your song I look forward to watching your video and your music.😚
I didn't have a good wife either. I come home to empty house. But she tried to come back many times. But I never tried it again. Many wanted to. But they medicaly terminated me 2011 & I sure miss it. Never thought I would say that. 31yrs. 24 At AAA-COOPER W/out a Wreck. I am still alone. But maybe 1 day!
He's a really great singer, I love his voice and melodies his lyrics are always on point, he will forever be missed, You're a real fan of country music.
I'm a single driver. I do specialty contract work and live on the road. The only women I have who understand my lifestyle are married. Good job on this cover. Sounds great.
Not all are married I been their for family I know thoses roads very well. I know it's hard on the drivers
This is wonderful! So raw and real. Your voice is amazing Brad!
As a trucker this one hit home....... keep up the excellent work!
I was a truckers wife of 32 years. Yes it was hard but I knew he loved us and came home to me every chance he had. My loved passed 2 years ago and even after he retired he missed it. We drove together for 2 yrs
Awesome song! I know the pain. Married and four wonderful kids. God bless for such a wonderful video.
Just the emotions of the original song is rough. But you put it together beautifully. Can't count the times i as a lady trucker was told he'll be long gone. Thank you Brad.
same here
I don't drive trucks but I run a scale house at a plant in Texas and I've met a lot of drivers in the years I've been here. Many of the guys I meet talk about being away too long and looking forward to a long break at home, so this version of the song struck a cord with me. Great voice and stay safe on the road. 👍
You have a God given talent. Thank you for sharing. From one two million miler to another.
On day 71 away from the house. 6 more days....the best advice I can give to anyone is before you get in that cab and start a 40 year career, weigh all your options and pick something else.
God bless all you drivers out there, without you everything would grind to halt. Godspeed in your journeys drivers.
The first time I heard you, you sang speed limit blues. I was hooked from there. Keep trucking Good Body. And thank you.
You got that rt. You all have the hardest job on earth I road with my son JIMMY king rough job no one would no unless they rode with a trucker I feel for them we better thank them everyday
this song kinda hits me hard. ever since i was about 7 i always fired up my boat and hauled down to i-20 to see truckers honk well 20 years later still makes my day just to get a trucker on i-20 and so all you truckers out there i genuinely thank you for all you've done for this nation and for us. not a day goes by i dont look forward to seeing if i could get truckers to honk at the heart of i-20 to this day it brings thrills to me just to see truckers honk on i-20
5* :) Thank you, Sir!! Truck safe out there!!
Hello Tonya 👋 how are you doing today, hope you’re good??
