    You are a goddamn tyranasuarusrex of corvette fixalating!
    That video was awesome!
    You explained.....and showed, how to do this like you were explaining it to a six year old. That works perfect for dummies like me.
    Thank you so very much for this. I subscribed and will be watching everything else you got.

    Nice video. Thanks.
    I read in an article to put the bushings in the freezer over night. I might even set the bushing end of the control arm over my charcoal starter can with the coals fired up.
    Years ago, I read an article about timing chains. They recommended putting the crank gear in the oven for a bit. Slid right on. 👍

    Yeah, I'm not having this good of luck. I used an air hammer and zipped all the bushings out in less than 10 minutes, but installing them has been a nightmare. Got polyurethane bushings. I dropped everything off at a machine shop and after a week and a half they still didn't have time to get to my control arms, so I bought a bushing remove/install tool kit and had no luck with that, so then I bought a 20 ton press and had luck installing ONE bushing on my lower control arm but I guess my brace to keep things from bending wasn't as good as I hoped it would be because I kind of screwed up my lower control arm. Figure it's about time for a cold beer and some more youtube videos.

      Wow, a difficult day. Those bushing must have been in there a very long time.

    Thank you for the video very insightful I am not for sure but I think c3 is from 1968 to 1982 I think?? So the front ends should be very similar for example the 69 Corvette front suspension should be similar to the 1981 Corvette ???

    awesome Video! thank you. but how Do you get them a Arms off? just lift the car up and loosen all them screws? have a nice Day!

    • @TheWhatisright
      @TheWhatisright  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Max derdat Max, that would be an entire different video. It also involves the springs and safety. One can not just loosen screws with all that spring force on the Control Arms. That could cause some serious damage and kill someone.

    Why not just change the bushings and keep the original Corvette rod ?

  • @AO-xr8mk

    Nice video, I'd like to see how you got the A arms off. Also, did you use polyurethane bushings?

    • @TheWhatisright
      @TheWhatisright  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AO202 I may need to make another video. Yes, I did use polyurethane bushings. I also changes out my springs. The front and back end was completely redone. The car drives great.

    How come on the install you didn't use the Moog offset shafts that you bought ?

    • @TheWhatisright
      @TheWhatisright  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jim, I did not like the Moog offset. Plus, my old ones worked fine. It was just the bushing that needed replacement.

    How do you like the por 15? I am doing my control arms now and am unsure about using that or getting them powder coated.

    • @TheWhatisright
      @TheWhatisright  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason, I think powder coat is best. However, the POR 15 is great stuff. If you do use the POR-15, then get the top coat so it will maintains the black shine.

    when are u gonna make wheel bearing video ?lol

    • @TheWhatisright
      @TheWhatisright  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      My next video will likely deal with C3 Corvette head light problems. Not sure I will do one on wheel bearings. Front bearing seem to be very easy.
