I did a 468 mile (753 km) head clearing ride yesterday. It was very hot, some of the roads were rough, lost a glove, a few things came loose from the trike and I had a good time. It was 10 hours of riding, just what I needed.

A thought while cruising in the wind… and contemplating relationships…
My love language is the wind I ride, the adventure I endeavor and the journey that is my destination. I will remember this encounter from time to time and smile, reminding me of the fool in the mirror.

It's not just a harley that gives you the things that you mentioned in this video.
I've been riding for nearly 40 years. I've had sports bikes, sport tourers and cruisers. I've used them all to clear my head at times and still do. The people you choose to ride with also have an impact on your ride. Dont ride above your abilities. Stay safe and ride clean.

G'day Amon. Riding a motorcycle, and it does not matter what brand it is, has in essence, saved my life. I am a disabled vet with some issues, but when I'm on my bike the world becomes a much better place. It's amazing how the mind can reach a level of clarity when all your focus is on the sound of the bike and the wind going by. As you said brother, the simple things are sometimes the most rewarding. great video as usual mate. Cheers.

Riding a Harley to me is all about the journey, being at one with the bike and the sight, sounds and smell of my surroundings, with a beating V twin as the backing track, and being part of a worldwide group of kindred spirits.

I have 60K on my Iron 883 2017 Evolution engine it’s been a cafe racer a scrambler and now almost stock again. Ridiculous but that’s one of the best things about Harley because I can reengineer and evolve the bike how I want. And I have it all in storage if later on I feel that need. Harley has taught me individually and creativity. I do have a x300 Versys as a 2nd bike for adventure rides and my men’s group

When I first started riding in the 60s, it was like discovering fire , electricity, and nuclear power all rolled into one. It also gave me freedom and mobility that others didn't have or hadn't discovered it yet for themselves. I became aware early on to be safe and not to over extend myself by getting into things that I didn't have the skills to handle yet. I eventually learned to conquer everything that came my way. I learned tires, clutches, electrical problems, tune ups, engine rebuilding, etc.. Riding and maintaining motorcycles gave me great confidence and a positive outlook on life.

very well said❤️ that's why I like night riding so much. Honestly, it's the only rides I've ever slowed down and just felt the environment. Doesn't matter if I'm on the bandit 1250 which is highly modified to be a hooligan bike or my Harley Davidson Ultra, if it's daylight, I'm gonna push both bikes for what the road and the bike will give me, that's probably due to 10 years of law-enforcement police motorcycle riding lol .but at night on either bike, I'll slow down and when you're out of town, you can literally feel the dark !

Great video! I have slowed down and started to smell the roses lately after I retired. I was going thru some old pictures and made a grouping of old photos of vacations cars bikes and family and friends over the years and hung it up in the garage on the wall by the door going into the house my kids love it my wife stopped and said what a journey we have had the first time she seen it, my kids couldn’t believe how fast has pasted my job was done. Don’t wait till your old like me to slow down and smell the roses enjoy the moment even if it’s a small one! Ride safe!

I didn't think id like it but it feels so much better. Feels less restricting more relaxing.and no bluetooth just me and the Bike and the open road.

I agree that there is something great about HD bikes, especially when you have spent the time and money to set it up for your taste and riding preferences. They are an expensive machine and I think they’re, or rather my bike is my prize possession. Something more than just another bike.

Then, it doesn matter how bad / awful that Day was at Work, when Leaving & the bike started the smile returned, and i would arrive home happy-as-Larry ( I survived again ). Rinse&Repeat !

You make it sound as if your points are exclusive to riding a H-D when it's truly just maturity and the wisdom gained along the way. Still, I can't begin to think how often I've witnessed H-D riders that don't lend themselves to the points you made. For instance, trailering their bikes to rallies just so they can "prove" they're a biker with their rally shirt. Another is the weekend bar hopping and bike night drinking or wearing a worthless brain bucket or no helmet is yet another signature Harley trait here in the states.
