    I’ve had a Pullrite Superglide since ‘05 and have had only one “user error” problem, they over nighted a new part, no questions asked. Great product backed by the best customer service and technician assistance company I’ve ever dealt with. I don’t believe I will ever look anywhere else for a hitch again.

    for those that have trouble lining up or pulling a trailer. save yourself a lot of money and find an empty well lit parking lot in the middle of the night and practice practice practice.

    I use a Pull Rite Superlite 20k. Same one he shows at the beginning. I absolutely love it. Piece of cake to hook up with. No movement what so ever towing. I always check my torque specs before towing 45ftlbs on the front nut, 65 ftlbs on the top nut. I also use the recommended spray on dry graphite lube before every trip on the ball. I tow a 43ft toy hauler with a loaded weight of 19k behind the dually. Again I love this hitch and recommend it whenever I get a chance.

    I own one of these hitches. Have for about 5 years. Never had a single issue. Less moving parts the better. The section bolted to the pin box is very heavy and when in use with the hitch feels very well connected and inspires confidence. If there were one issue, when I dropped off my fifth wheel to be serviced at the dealership, they detached the ball from pin box to transport. When the rig was ready they brought it to me at which time I informed them I couldn't hook up, they had to reinstall which required another work order. I was not charged but when I go to the dealer now they have me put the fifth wheel in the shop and that's where I pick it up.

    I've been pulling my 19,000 lbs loaded, Jayco Siesmic 4212 Toy hauler with the aluminum Anderson Ultimate hitch for 4 years. I can take it out and put it in with one arm by myself. Never once have I had it come loose or bend in any way shape or form.

    Andersen has lifetime warranty on base and coupler block vs only 5 year, Andersen 24k rating vs 20k rating, Andersen has 3 different height adjustment settings, Andersen 35lb base vs 60lb base, Basically they liked the Andersen Ultimate so much themselves they decided to copy it and flip the coupler around.

      C R Anderson Hitch is superior in my opinion. In addition to above mentioned, my Anderson arrived damaged in shipping, made one phone call, answered immediately and after literally 1 minute I was being sent a new one from the factory with free shipping on return. No fuss customer service. New unit arrived priority shipping in 2 days. They have a customer for life!

    Another great informative video. Maybe I haven't seen it on your video list yet but I would love to see a video on the different ways to attach a BIG 5th wheel to a 1-ton truck, both short bed and long bed. Terms like puck, goose box, etc. don't mean anything to me, yet. I'm still learning the terms but knowing the terms will help me determine the right setup for me.

    I own this hitch. I like it, the heaviest part is 55 lbs so much better than the slider I had before. I can back up to 77 degrees, not a full 90. 2018 F250, 6 1/2 ft bed. Fits the Ford OEM mounting holes perfectly. ( I have the rail kit vs the goose ball, preferred having 4 points of contact).

  • @Upliftyourbrothers
    @Upliftyourbrothers 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The best hitch design is one that flips down into the bed. There when you need it and no need to lug into your truck a heavy attachment. The gooseneck hitch is hard to beat. I just wished the rv’s just came with a gooseneck.

    • @sail4free1
      @sail4free1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We paid $500 for an adapter (from etrailer.com -- rated at 20K) which bolts to our fifth wheel pin and stays with the trailer. I love the reversa-ball on our gooseneck hitch -- keeps the bed clean. More than 50,000 miles later, my only complaint is that it does change the leverage (like putting a cheater bar on the pin) and I'm nearly certain we have done some damage to the steel frame (vicinity of pin box) on our trailer which we hope to have repaired this summer. We do some rather extreme offroading with our 33' fifth wheel and nothing gets babied in our world. If it *can* go wrong, it will -- it's only a matter of time. :)

    I'm gonna stick with my goosebox as well. I am still planning on putting a hauler bed/skirted flat bed on the F450, and with that, the gooseneck ball/goosebox will be a much better fit. My only complaint about the goosebox is on a dark color truck (mine's magnetic gray) seeing the ball and where the actual goosebox is, is damn near impossible to line up perfectly, even with the bed camera. That funnel in this vid is a cool idea... heh. I also like the airbag in the goosebox... makes things a LOT smoother.

    Just one suggestion on washer and dryer. Could they put them on a wheel frame that allows owner to pull out from wall or closet to shut off water. When I brought my washer and dryer the salesperson told me to preserve the washer hose turn water to hose off everytime because water remains in hose and in responsible for break and leak. He was right and have not had to change hose or had leak for 20 years now.

    While I have the Andersen Ultimate, I would have no problem with the Pullrite version as it appears to be well conceived and executed. I actually broke one AUH plastic funnel and got another immediate by sending Andersen a photo. At age 73, I am happy to work with my 35 lb hitch vs a 60 lb hitch and won't change just to get away from Andersen bashers.

    When buying my 5th wheel i knew i wanted a unit that attached to my gooseball. I had decided to buy a pullrite. The dealership i was at said they would make me a deal on one because they had several that were returned "because customers changed their mind". I kind of thought that was odd but i said ok let me look at them. All 4 they had were damaged in some way on the ball mount system that connects to the kingpin. Broken bolts,stripped out holes etc. I went to see the manager and asked what the deal was. He said "oh no, I'm not selling those. We arent ordering anymore because too many defects." Not trying to bash them just letting you know what happened. I did end up with an anderson and have had no problems.

    I own the super glide 24k for a ram with the puck system in a mega cab. I absolutely love the peace of mind and functionality. My only gripe is that when turning near 45-90deg, I need to ease on or roll on the throttle while the the hitch is going back to the straight position. If I gun it, I sometimes experience a clunking feeling as the head goes into the straight driving position.

    • @jason328d6
      @jason328d6 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine had an adjustment in the front. Tightened the “jamnut” and it took out any play when returning to straight after being in the turn/slide position.

    • @MikeDsinger
      @MikeDsinger 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you get to 90 in your mega? I've been measuring my truck and 5th wheel over and over because I want the Andersen ( or pullrite) but my nose cap doesn't have the indentations to clear the cab. I called Andersen about this and the guy just chuckled and said, " if you gotta go 90°, your not towing properly". I almost hung up on the dude. The way my driveway is set up, I have to go 90 Everytime parking the 5er in her spot.

    • @ColoradoGunfighter
      @ColoradoGunfighter 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Singer yes I can.
      it sounds like the super glide may not be the right option for you. Also To hook up and disconnect, the truck and trailer need to be straight with each other.
      Also my 5th genesis supreme has the cuts in the corner which helps significantly. It’s tight but can be done.

    • @jason328d6
      @jason328d6 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My front cap on my 5th was straight, no cut back on corners and I could turn 90. My issue was mine was on 35s with about 1inch lift so my bed rails could contact the bottom of trailer when on uneven road.

    • @ColoradoGunfighter
      @ColoradoGunfighter 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Saunders mine is on 37’s with 3” lift and have 5-7” of gap between the bed rails and bottom over hang of the 5th.
      My carli air bags are schedule to be released in 3 weeks. After I put those on I should have a little more than 6”. The truck is currently squatting 2-3/8”.

    Nothing against pull rite, but my uncle bought used 17 or 18 Gmc 3500 DRW. It had there rails and fifth wheel hitch in it. He needed gooseneck for his cattle trailer. So the dealer got him a plate for the rails. I'm guessing its there brand because there rails are pretty tall and doesn't look like Reese or curt style would work with it. But where I'm going is with there plate the ball is to low and the coupler on trailer rubs on the plate with any un even ground. The slightest till side to side it rubs. So he's going back to B&W hitch he had before. I'm not saying its pull rites problem but maybe its the couple design but they might want to make there ball about 1in taller that they weld to the plate. He had the same trailer for years and work fine with previous truck with B&W and truck before that f-250 with Reese fifth wheel rails and there gooseneck plate. It looks like the model he has/had issues with is traditional series style goose plate. idk if he got the b&w style yet.

      Loved it in my mega cab dodge. Had a husky then a Reese. Ended up with superglide pullright. I’d never use anything else. So easy and never had the same jerky motion. The manual slide where you have to pull a lever to roll it backwards was awful. The auto slide is the only way to go. Plus the way it locks on the king pin is excellent. No movement or slop always locked in even when uneven or at an angle.

    Not a fan on any of these hitches or swivel head hitches. I think it allows the camper to rock back and forth easily and lay up more on corners. The stationary hitches are harder to hook up at times but it helps keep the whole unit acting as one, the tow vehicle absorbs some of the rocking. Imagine a big truck having a swivel type hitched they would probably be rolled over on every corner

    It's an upside down goose-neck hitch. I still would only buy the Reese goose neck pin box and only have a goose-neck ball in my bed. You will not have to lift that HEAVY hitch out of the bed of your truck and find a place to store it when not in use.

    Andersen came and stole my aluminum fence posts one night and then tried to sell me a hitch the next day! Bastards!

    Nice hitches but not very affordable. I’ve looked into all these and they’re pretty pricey. It would be nice to see these a little more affordable.

    I used to own the Superglide and it was a TOTAL PITA to hook up. You had to have a capture plate on the kingpin and had to be lined up almost perfectly in order to connect. I couldn't wait to get rid of that expensive and incredibly heavy hitch. I now have a 42 pound competitor made entirely of US steel and love the ease of use! Their concept is valid for the ball hitch but I can't recommend the Superglide.

    Hell just another fancy hitch that's all it is simply put if I was going to have a hitch the pull camper like that I'd have a fifth-wheel just like you would see on a big semi over-the-road semi before I'd have some ball like that if I pull a lot of gooseneck trailers hauling cattle with horses and stuff and I don't see no purpose of it

    So does the goose ball hitch, does it create the same issue you talked about changing where the weight/pressure is put on the frame?

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. LCI aporoves it in their frames as well

    Looks to me like a reversed Anderson hitch

    I love my SuperLite! A much better and stronger design than the Andersen.

    Who needs a hitch when you can just duct tape your trailer to your truck

    • @jerrypolete5258

      Lol nice. Duct tape can fix anything. I’m sure there is an Oakie out there that’s tried it.

    Hey man, I love your content, but I miss the truck videos and the rants! It's been about 2 months since I was excited about an upload :(
    You did the poll a while back and I know RV reviews won, but please balance out the content a bit more. I love the channel because of your honesty and knowledge!

    I feel like you're espousing 'not branching out into other businesses' as a good thing, but isn't it in a businesses best interest to branch out once they're succesful?

    • @iananderson4897
      @iananderson4897 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends, branching out into other areas can be a negative if it takes focus away from your core business. Some businesses are perfectly happy focusing on one type of product, and doing it well. Not everyone wants to be Bill Gates.

    One bolt tying it to the goose neck ball?
    That seems under built. I’d like to see it closer.

      It has 2 pins connecting it to the ball. I have this hitch and it works great.

    Gooseball right side up = requires safety chains
    Gooseball upside down = no safety chains
    Interesting....
