The e30 chassis was also designed in the late 70s and went into production in the early 80s.....it was a purpose built race car and the ultimate touring car.
The Nissan had a beautiful engine note but I found the BMW his pitched wail ear splitting. Can someone tell if if the little puff off tyre smoke under brakes on the s is if the wheel is unloaded?
The Nissan is turbo ( which takes some of the edge off the exhaust note, ) the BMW is Naturally Aspirated 16V that revs to about 9000rpm, early M3s were 2.3ltr, around 300hp, later they were 2.5ltr about 350hp, the M3 was built as a race first then made road legal, all others were road cars made into race cars! The M3 had fantastic cornering/braking and were generally very reliable!!
I remember standing at the top of the pits on the inside of the Karrassel at Lakeside Park. Tony Longhurst's M3 coming directly toward me. I could only hear induction noise. It was wonderful. Full of intent.
Still can't believe those DR30s had zero aero! Seton across the top in the wet was insane.
Oh yeah, who needs aero?!
Seton was/is an absolute master!
Just wanted to add this Peter Jackson racecar is the DR30 model prior to HR31 model
Yup, good catch. Our upload copy paste of car info on file was copy/pasted from the incorrect video.
Updated and sorted!
FJ20 motor?
@@RypienGT Yes the grandfather to the SR20DET
That S14 sounds amazing!
there's literally not a single S chassis in this whole video
@@brunosimoes6382 correct.
I literally did not say there was.
Look into the engine code of an e30 m3 and then shut your mouth in disgrace
Exceptional video and AUDIO.
Jim Richards JPS BMW vs Setons Peter Jackson Nissan, just like the old days.
That skyline😍
The M3 is far more modern.
R30 is from the very early 80s, which I think holds up damn well considering.
Far more modern? This M3 (E30) was built 1986 - 1991.

@@Mantenner Orly? E30 chassis is basically same that E10s had in 60s.
Can't remember, but do think Seton had some problem..
DR30 wasn't running well that day

Hahaha listnen to the brakes on the Skyline.. Gotta love old skool !
Sounds like the FJ20T
It is FJ20!
It’s not an RB!
I personally think the S14 sounds better than the FJ.
Crazy RB’s sound awesome too
Incase people were unaware, the engine is the BMW is an S14, I was not referring to a Nissan S14, which is an SR20 if you were wondering
Pitty the owner of the skyline at that point stole $3.8million dollars to fund it.
Nissan doesn't sound sharp.
The skyline is doing its best.
To be honest, Japanese cars of this generation are class B, both as base cars and racing cars.
The JPS BMW looks great, they sound weevil though. Worst sounding race cars after the Porsche Cup cars.💩💩💩💩
Porsche Cup sounds ugly? OK.. 9,5krpm in a flat six sounds ugly..... Ok dude....

Sounds fantastic
@@marcelschneller1152 I’m with you. I also love the sound of the S14 but I am a big BMW fan so maybe I’m bias
