    Ok you said it's a budget cam? I disagree. it originally cost 400 dollars lots of features plus you do not have to play back on your laptop. You can do it in your car using play back mode. It also connects to your cell phone. You are correct about it swivels...I agree with you on a traffic stop simply turn it around facing you. I hope you enjoy you dash cam. I bought mine finally after studying and comparing. This cam is great! Good Investment 👍

      We referred to it as a budget dash cam simply for the price. It’s about $100 on Amazon which is extremely affordable compared to other brands. Definitely a great value!!

    Thank you sir, this was a great review. I just purchased and installed this camera and so far I am very happy with it. Like yourself, I initially paid $120 for the camera and 2 days later it dropped to $110, so I reached out to Amazon and they would not refund the difference in price, so I also returned it and ordered the lower priced one. They could save themselves from increasing their used inventory if they could just price match, especially with their own product. Overall, for the price, this is a great camera, and like you said, I will follow up to see if it lasts over the long term.

    For anyone looking to purchase this, it should be noted this does NOT have a 4k sensor, it's a 1080p sensor. Meaning the "4k" footage is just upscaled.

    Thank you for sharing your review. I ordered one after watching your video and I’m really impressed with the video quality at 1080 60fps.
    I drove 480 miles last weekend and captured the entire trip with amazing detail. I see now why this dashcam is a top seller. I hope they release something like 2 or 3 channel dashcam system. Thank you again!

    @SheFast Your headlights appear to be set too high, can't tell for sure via video, but they appear to be aimed too high when you see your vid, showing your headlights hitting the house in front of you, which means you are blinding some folks driving towards you if thats the case. you might want to just double check them to be sure, so you stay safe!

    Does the dash cam beep everytime you start the car? And does the screen turn on then turns off when you start the car or it just stays on?

      The beeping was another device in the car - not the camera. And there may be a setting on the camera where you can decide if you want it to stay on for the entire duration of your ride or if you want to turn the screen off.

    Hello why playback video pause every 2 seconds?

      Unfortunately we can’t troubleshoot - there are many things that could cause that. We haven’t had the issue but suggest contacting their tech support.

      What SD card are you using? That could be your issue. Rove recommends using a Samsung class 10 u3.

      Possibly lowering the resolution more, but I’m not sure if any other solutions. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

      @@SHEFAST When doing the 1440 via WiFi it was really choppy, but when downloaded to the phone it was fine, so all good here. Thanks for the reply.

    Mine copletely died after one year of use the camera is great but the battery they use is crap

      I’m sorry to hear that! I haven’t had any issues yet, but I have it plugged into the 12v - not using the internal battery.

      @@SHEFAST mine stays conected all the time too, I bought a new one again because I think is a great camera for the price that's the only priblem I had hope that this new one last longer, I use it in a big truck in Miami FL so is a must have.

      You're not supposed to use the battery by itself. It only gives you about 3-5 mins of recording. You need to have it plugged in/hardwired.

      Technically no, it has an internal battery. But I’m not sure how long it’ll record if running on battery.

      @@SHEFAST says in the manual that it only has about 3 to 5 minutes battery life when unplugged or your car is off, unless you have a car where the 12v plugs are always hot.

    I'm having problems with the playback on the Rove app, during playback the video is stopping and playing or skipping for lack of a better word, If I downloaded the video to my photos and play it from my photos it plays fine no skipping or stopping. If play the video from the micro card directly to my computer, again no problem plays fine, something when I playback directly from the dash cam. only playback from the Rove app is the problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times to see if it resolves issue, but it hasn't worked. I have restarted the phone also with no success. Do you have a solution to this problem.

      Could be the Wi-Fi connection? I’m not sure, I’d recommend calling Rove tech support.

      @@SHEFAST ok thanks, but I do rule out wifi, I have fiber optic and a speed of 1000 mbps it's very fast. But I did error on my question because the playback problem is also on the dash cam, which will explain why it transfers it to the app. But thanks again for the advice I will call Rove

      To follow up on this lagging issue with the Rove app during playback. I contacted Rove today, they informed me they are aware of the app playback lagging issue and are launching a new rove app within the next 2 weeks that will fix the issue. I will be looking for the new app and if the issue is fixed, I will keep R2-R4 if not I will be returning it back. The phone app playback feature is one of the reasons I went with the R2-R4.
