    You showed us how to remove the stitching, but did not show us how the fabric looks with it gone. I want to remove a monogram and not replace it and have the fabric as it was. Are the threads in the fabric torn or frayed?

      Usually, it leaves stitch marks and it is best to embroider something over top of the area. Unfortunately, that is the nature of fabric!

      @@sandidianna4303 Thanks for the reply! It's as I expected that some marks would be shown. Probably because the fibers in the thread do get torn by the needle. I found a fine cotton shirt with a monogram that I wanted so bad, but now I am not going to try this. Other people have said to embroider over it or put a patch. The fabric is too amazing and thin for that.
      I did see someone else remove a monogram from a canvas like jacket. After washing and drying it you could see there were tiny frays here and there. So fabric does get noticeably damaged and would need to be covered unless it was uniquely textured or patterned. Thanks again.

      I saw someone else using it upside down. I plan to do that the next time.
