    that's honestly such a great idea ! I feel like learning through watching tv shows is one of the best way to learn just because it's so enjoyable but having you actually explain the sentences and saying them very clearly is just perfect! thank you!

    Very useful video. The thing I liked the most is the way Thai works and how is full of idioms, particles and figures of speech casting colors and intentions over words that normally doesn't mean anything if we take them separately... This video was really enlightening... Thank you so much.

    This is good for people like me. I’m have lao parents from isan and I don’t understand central thai due to their accent. I love Thai dramas so I want to watch it

    This was awesome! Thank you so much! I want to watch more videos like this. I speak low intermediate Thai and I recognize more than 60-70% of these words but just never heard them used in this conversational way before, or in new combinations with other words to create new meanings that I am not familiar with. Really helpful, thank you!

      Nice to know your feedback. So I might do something like this with some Thai dramas :)

    Teacher, a bit oot tho 🙏 I've seen some actor said 'krub phom' at the end of their sentences, which i gather was the formal or more polite version than just saying 'krub'. My question is, is it also the same when female said it or can a female said it? Or is it a word solely for man and 'kha' is polite enough? Thank u ❤

    • @nookofley8071
      @nookofley8071 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For females, saying kha is already polite enough and krub pom is said by males only

    • @letslearnthai
      @letslearnthai  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      'krup phom' and 'krup are both polite at the same level. For me personally, 'krup phom' is a bit more positive and in friendly sense. While for female, we only have 'ka' and 'kha', no other words added afterword.

      มาช้า แต่ก็มานะคร้า ☺️ / เฮงซวย กับ กาก ไม่เหมือนกันค่ะ ถ้าด่าใครว่า เฮงซวย คือ คนนั้น bad luck มากๆหรือแย่มากๆ ทำอะไรก็ไม่ดี แต่ กาก จะประมาณว่า low quality, not good, ถ้าใช้ด่าคน ก็ประมาณ = คนที่ไม่แน่จริงค่ะ

    Sawadee krub, Teacher. 🙏🏻 I have “song” (2) questions about Thai etiquette regarding when to remove shoes inside a structure na. 1. Do I remove my shoes if I am aboard a ship 🚢? I would guess “chigh” ONLY if I enter somebody’s cabin, right, Teacher? Otherwise, I keep my shoes on, right? 2. If somebody is confined to a wheelchair 🦼 and is only paralyzed from the waist down, then when they enter a structure does that person in a wheelchair remove their shoes even though their shoes will never touch the floor, Teacher? Khob khun krub! 🙏🏻 🇺🇸🤝🇹🇭

      สวัสดีค่ะ long time no see. Regard to your questions; 1. Hmmm... I do not think we take shoes off on a ship kha. We do take shoes off in a house, but not at offices, workspaces, trains, ships, etc. Please keep your shoes on kha. 2. Hmmm... if it's in a house, putting him/her on bed/sofa, etc. I think the shoes shall be taken off. However, if it's not in a house but other open places. Keeping shoes on is okay as we understand that that person is paralyzed kha.
