    Thanks bro. Just pulled my plugs to check em out due to heavy oil consumption and they were lightly covered. Will follow your video, good to know about the rtv locations!

    I've never seen anymore have a reference for torque sequence. That's an excellent idea!

    I have one of these cars with about 200k on it , I replaced valve cover gasket, Radiator, Starter and Crankshaft position sensor since I bought it in 2016 If you ever have this engine just shut off for no reason and then hard to start after it shuts off put a 20 dollar crankshaft position sensor on it easy fix. i drive this car 60 miles round trip per day (300 miles per week) and it has never layed down on me and will get 30 mpg with the AC off . I bought originally to flat tow behind my motorhome. It has the perfect auto transmission for flat to and will not damage the tranny in neutral.

    How do you get oil out of number one

    • @bluesxt
      @bluesxt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Put a rag in there and let the rack soak up most of the oil. And then be sure to crank the engine with the spark plugs out in order to get the rest of the oil pushed out

    0:08 My buddy, just call the engine by the code, an L4. That is what that engine is. Parts stores in my area don't go by all that junk, they go by codes.

    i'm a little worried i hear timing chain slap. my 2000 sw2 DOHC is new to me. if i popped the valve cover off, would it be pretty easy to tell if the chain is loose and the sprockets are worn down?

    • @bluesxt
      @bluesxt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes if you pop the valve cover off you can feel the chain and tell right away whether the chain is loose or not. Unlikely the sprockets are worn, most likely your chain has stretched, but it’s worth replacing everything that comes in the timing chain kit

      Sounds like you might need some valve seals :)

      @@SlowBuick98 oil on top of the spark plug, where the plugs go, is a valve cover gasket leak! If you have oil in the cylinder when you remove the spark plugs, then you’re probably looking at valve seals in the head
