That 1st one reminded me of how I had to climb out of a drainage ditch area, up a big hill and drive myself through a snowstorm to the hospital after crushing the bottom half of my lumbar spine in a sledding accident in Oklahoma. An ambulance would have taken a very long time and no one I was with could drive in heavy snow. I was resting and was suddenly pushed down a hill where i launched wcross a concrete drainage culvert and landed on the incline at the other side at ~20+mph. I didn't exactly walk away unscathed 😄 I'm forever in pain crippled after many spine surgeries though I've handled it well. 🫤 I was only 25 in 2015 when it happened... really messed up situation. Back to the stories!☝️

The wound was pretty superficial--it didn't hit the artery or anything, just skin and fat.

Also, that first story, HOLY- used to do some gardening in HS for a fam in my grade school, I was using hedge trimmers to cut - yep, a HEDGE. No hand guard. Went to wipe sweat off my face, and schoonk (did I capture that finger in a bootle sound? No? Well it didn’t sound like anything anyway). Tip o’ finger clean off. Almost. It’s unpleasant seeing your own fat tissues, muscle, and bone while an artery pumps your red shtuff in a steady stream. Can’t even begin to imagine how much worse this shit was. Lucky AF his dad had been a medic when he served, that’s fo’ damned sho’.
