Who Am I?
I am a Management Consultant in real life but in my Bootlosophy channel, I make videos about boots and all things boot related. This channel posts reviews of boots, unboxing of new boots, and follow-up reviews, and in doing so, may explore the philosophy of the brands from time to time!
I have owned boots for decades, but to be honest I have owned them as functional pieces of footwear. It wasn't until early 2020 when COVID struck that I started online shopping for boots to an obsessive degree. I love the aesthetic of boots and I love finding out more about how they are made. I now own an insane number of boots, and one day I may sell some of them (just not right now).

This man is a goddamn treasure, and I will hear no objections at this time.
Preach!
I have two pairs of Whites boots.
For work I have Smokechasers and for casual i have the MP Sherman in cinnamon waxed flesh.
Both are easily the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, such a pleasure to wear.
The fact that Parkhurst made it to second place shows how far they've come. As a relative newcomer that says a lot about Andrew's creations.
I just received my pair last week, the customer service is fantastic, quality is outstanding and value for money is great. They have a dressier look than I was expecting, but will definitely be heavy in my rotation for years. This week after months of waiting received my Truman boots and unfortunately had to return them due to sizing issues, but the instant I opened that box I just was drawn to them in a way I haven’t been to other boots I have purchased, they are exactly my style and the right blend of rugged and stylish for me, can’t wait to get my replacement pair (in 3 months LOL). Parkhurst are phenomenal though and you really can’t beat the price.
@@chalkboardshoes Andrew is VERY helpful and responds quickly to emails. His sizing advice was spot on for me. I have always worn a 10.5 boot in multiple brands, 11.5 sneaker but it looks like I’m actually a 10 in Parkhurst, Truman and Oakstreet.
@@chalkboardshoes I don’t have any of those, the Parkhurst are a slim last compared to Truman’s or Oak Street, but they seem to follow the natural curve of your foot well. They offer free returns and exchanges, Andrew assured me that if they didn’t fit it wouldn’t be a problem, so don’t stress too much.
Thank you Sir! You are a gentleman and a scholar! I have been researching the many boots you own and wish to buy get one or two pair. I think I'll buy R.M. Williams when I'm in Australia next and either Parkhusrt, Whites, Truman or Grant Stone for a service type boot. Thanks again for sharing the practical information and your ownership experience! Nice touch acknowledging the local aboriginal people in W.A. Best!
You are very well spoken, good sir.
Some fairly solid choices there. I own the MP’s, Allen, and Captain boots with a pair of Grant Stone on the way. For the three I currently have I would say your rankings are spot on.
I have been looking at Service boots and this was a great view showing the diversity of the design. I'm looking for an around town boot for when I can take off my Franks boots after work. I think you sold me on the Parkhurst as a good option. Thank you sir.
Your videos are always so well thought out! Keep up the great work!
I admire Parkhurst choice of Dublin leathers, it has a waxy feel with intense pull-up. The Color 8’s you own are beautiful.
Thanks for the video my man! Cheers from Toronto Canada!
Love your content Tek. You have a keen eye for quality :).
Hell Yeah! I literally asked for this video! Great vid man. Great content too. This is what I love about the internet. No matter what you're interested in, there's someone out there that shares it!
Great recommendations here
great stuff as always! not all service boot brands offer wide so for some, options become more limited. just got a pair of Grant Stone's. love em!
Excellent video. You now have me fixated on a pair of service boots - particularly that tan Grant Stone Diesel.
Thank You for sharing! I love my Truman's!
Wonderful review.
Very good list. I own number 5, 3 and 1. The Whites are my favourites too. By far my most comfortable boots.
Enjoyed your review as always.
Thanks! Appreciate it!
bootlosophy is the real mr. put it on
Good review as always, personally I tend to find these service boots a little too sleek for my liking, as I do prefer the "chunkier" veering to work boot aesthetics, that' why for me Truman Boots are the top of my list, as they seem to cover both service and work boot camps..... For sleek service boots, I prefer the English take on them e.g. Crockett & Jones etc. ..... regarding Thursday boots, whilst one cannot deny the value equation, I am not a fan..... I have tried Thursday boots 4 times now and been unimpressed with leather quality, finishing and the overall aesthetics. To me they look like cheap boots in materials, construction and finishing.... but many seem to like them....... keep up the great work!! looking forward to your next review
I enjoyed this video very much.
Another thoughtful review. I haven't tried just if the boots in your list, but have watched enough other reviews to believe you!
That should have been "I haven't tried the rest of the boots."
Awesome video !
I agree with your choices. I have the Captain, the Grant Stone and my grail boot, the Nicks Robert in waxed rough out.
That Nicks Robert is phenomenal!
Like your list, as I have from each of these bootmKers in my 10 boot collection. Do like my Trumans and AE Higgins mill as well.
Great video. Thanks
I own all of these boots in different make-ups minus the captains I have the vanguards but I’d take out Thursdays for Truman boots for sure.
I get heal slippage with my oak street trench boots so I’d put 1st whites 2nd Truman 3. Parkhurst 4 oak street and 5th grant stone.
Great video, thank you🙂👍
I enjoy your videos.
Interesting choices.🧐🤘👍
Fantastic!
Very inspiring. Thank you~~
I always enjoy your boot videos although I seriously doubt if my wife would go along with my owning as many pairs as you’ve purchased! lol
It’s a curse LOL
Can't really argue, that is a solid list. I sort of expected to see a Truman on there (I love their aesthetic and chunky midsole) but I can't say I'd replace any on your list. Maybe on my personal list I'd swap a Truman in place of the Oakstreet only because my feet don't get along with the Oakstreet last.
I have a pair of oakstreets in my closet that I wore for two days before realizing they were too big 😢. Truman’s by far are my favorite aesthetically, there’s just something magnetic about them for me.
I love my Truman boots but I’m always conflicted if they fall into the service boot category or the work boot category in design.
@@Bootlosophy I think that’s a fair statement. The toe is more rounded than a classic service boot. They almost look like a combo of a classic service boot and my modern military Bates Superboots that I wear for work.
@@Bootlosophy A distinction I did not consider! I tend to lump service and work boots together, because I style them the same, as opposed to dressier boots. But you are right, there is a distinct difference. Good food for thought.
You realize this just means you're now expected to do a top 5 work boot video ;)
A have 5, 3, and 2. My only difference would be I would put my grant stones ahead of my parkhursts. The build quality and comfort of the grant stones is insane for the price. Especially if you shop their sale section.
I’m from the Netherlands, i order my first service boots from Thursday (captain) starting a new hobby 😉
Welcome to the hobby!
thanks for the vid - what are your go to business attire brands? all the best.
Gazman, Country Road, Rodd and Gunn, Trenery
Great boots. Personally, I have my Red Wing Blacksmiths in my top 2. Just under Grant Stone... But this is just personal taste... And what I own!
Would you say Blacksmiths are service boots? Or work boots?
@@Bootlosophy They look like service boots to me.
Very good 😅
Awesome channel, as a newbie to boots you have me lusting for boots and I love your communication flair. My first pair will probably be Canada West Boots specificaly the 2801 Moorby Signature Series; hopefully you will do a review of them someday. My second boot for sure is Jimmy Green's Razorback Wedge Sole . Thanks for an excellent inforamative channel, keep up the stellar work!👍
Hard to get hold of Canada West outside of Canada!
Have you tried the nicks americana, and if you have can you do a review please.
show your WHOLE collection in a video. Thanks for this one.
All 86 pairs? Long video.
Well done sir. Just curious why the iron ranger was omitted. Is it in a different class? Thank you
Difficult….I personally class it as a work boot
@@Bootlosophy thank you, keep up the good work 👍🏼
I’m ordering my first MP Shermans this weekend.
Do you own any pairs of Nick’s?
I’ve reviewed a couple.
🙌🙌🙌
Have you tried Dayton boots? Handmade in Vancouver, Canada for over 75 years
I’ve seen them and would love to try them
What is that leather backpack you have in the picture of you in the Whites?!
It’s from Tasmanian veg tan bag maker Henk Berg henkberg.com
Need an update when the Vibergs arrive!
Spoiler alert….they’d be up there!
@@Bootlosophy My Vibergs are my favorites. But your list is so clearly thought out.
i disagree a blacked out Whites MP would look great in a black suit and tie.
nice collection, do you have a selection of 8" boots? *goes and checks*
found it th-cam.com/video/ASZeXHv1A-I/w-d-xo.html :D
Hi. If i wear UK size 8,EU 42 in most boots , what size should i go for in White's MP boot ?
I’d go a US 9
❤❤❤
Hi
bro can you help me
plzz
If your favorite was the Whites Boots, why didn’t Nicks Boots rank up there with the Whites? Too similar?
Purely aesthetic
My thursdays was my gateway boot and they are so great for what I pay and so comfortable! But my grantstones are godley comfortable as well and QC is 👌🏻 and I own a pair of red wing moc toes which are probably the bottom of the list for comfortability.
I love Thursdays but they are the least breathable shoes of all the brands I own (accumulates condensation)
I haven’t found that - in hot Australia!
@Bootlosophy for me it's the most noticeable during the winter months and only in the very tip of the toe area inside where the toe stiffener is
I've also had this issue. My feet are soaking wet within an hour
All much of a muchness!!.more money then sense 👍👍🤣
Why obsess on world war fashion. No one talks about desert storm fashion. All these boots are dress shoes in USA
I think the Viberg's are going to replace the Whites. Also the Nicks Americana Service Boot is a tank and a solid competitor. Nice review, owning Parkhurst's, Grant Stones, Nicks, and JK's I feel good about my boot collection.
I’m never sure if boots like the Americana or the Iron Ranger are service boots or workboots and what the fine line is!!!
@@Bootlosophy there’s a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning. As Jimmy Buffet would say.
Great video. Thanks
