- Wekiwa Springs State Park is top 10 state park I believe. Located just north of Orlando in Apopka, Florida. Great kayaking, hiking trails, and plenty of biking opportunities. The campground has lots of shaded sights, so it is really nice for year round camping!

Watching these videos all day to catch up have put the get to Florida bug in me. Just so amazing how many breathtaking places, springs and well everything.....
Wekiwa has lots activities also!
Wekiwa is my favorite spring I've visited so far... all the algae also makes it the smelliest, in the summer, but it's the best freshwater swimming hole I've been to this year. I'm not really a camping person, but I'm definitely going to return for camping and swimming when my nephew is down on vacation next month.

We used to live there! We went to high school right down the road from there. It is a great place. We need to go back for a visit.

Great video. I grew up in the Windermere area and used to go there along with Rock Springs and Alexander Springs.

Good tips:-) This is a beautiful spring and they allow tubes and floating devices which really makes for a relaxing day. Hopefully one of these days we’ll get to kayak it!
Yes get out there and kayak it, you will love it. You will definitely see gators!

CampTravelExplore I always do for example I wanted to know which day of the week you went and at what time basically because it was really empty so I wanted more info so I can plan for my visit.

Thank You for stopping by! I would say the campground to the launch is a ten minute bike ride. In fact we usually drive over from the campground ourselves. Is it a certain time on the weekday where they let you swim in there
My understanding is swimming is available everyday. Going on a weekday there is way fewer people!

What time should I arrive there? Tried to go 2 times but it was full 😖
We have been hitting the springs on Mon & Tues. and its been great, don't know if you can do that but its worth a try. On weekends, you have to get in the line early!!
Can you bring a air soft there ?

Looks like you had a nice day at the Springs. I would say that Kelly park is nicer and maintained much better.
seems like many of the sites there are pretty close together, but it seems #37 is a winner!

How deep is it
3 ft to 5 ft for the most part with the cavern going down 15 to 20 I believe.

Usually its pretty clear when ive been there early!
In this spring is free of gators????
Just some gators on the river, they stay away from the swimming area of the spring!

Nit by the springhead, they usually stay up river where it is warmer

Just an FYI. We live near this area and use to enjoy going to both Rock Springs and WekiWA Springs. We enjoyed your video except for one thing. The name of the Spring is WekiWA not WekiVa. The river is WekiVA River, the spring is WekiWA Springs. The Indian word for bubbling water is WekiWa, the word for flowing water is WekiVa. Therefore it is Wekiwa Springs; Wekiva River. Throughout your video you call the spring WekiVa. It's like calling Kissimmee , Kiss a mee

I know, one of my fav strategies is to camp at a spring on Sun Mon nights, many times it feels like you have the place to yourself!
