    Thank you for your time and effort Dr. Michael. This course has been very helpful.
    I got slightly confused with the following: if we are assuming stationarity, then why would the expected value at the unknown locations be that of the kriging estimate, and not zero just like that of the known data points ?

      I think he explained that the value of the unknown location is away from the known location, and there’s a range. Kriging is used to estimate value away from the known location! I don’t know if this answers your questions..

    The motivation for simulation is that it could reproduce the variability which kriging estimation might underestimate, but the simulation model needs to be upscaled before flow simulation and the upscaling will even out some hetergeneity and decrease the variance. Would be interesting to look at kriging model VS. upscaled simulation model.
