Now I can see the emphasis seems to be European and not even Luxembourgian health insurance, how do I go about this since am not in Europe or Luxembourg but primarily the last phrase in the write up is my main huddle or issue, which is …“, or a health insurance indicating an expiry date” Does that mean any insurance indicating an expiry date, that is any insurance with an expiry date is acceptable, because there’s a health insurance policy for people traveling , which you pay for in Nigeria that covers health and is cheap, so I don’t know if this counts? Cos in the first breath of the write up, they emphasized a lot on European insurance, and then the “,or Health Insurance Certificate Indicating an expiry date “following the earlier phrase is spinning my brain in different direction and giving me a lot of ideas , or method to go about it and am not sure if it’s correct and I don’t want to do something wrong and mess my admission.

I have a question pls, during my application, the first stage was to fill out my personal details. I got confused in the section of (Secondary Education) as follows, title of degree,rank,and grade scale, my question is does SSCE have grade scale,ranking and title of degree. Hi, WASSCE has ranking system, whether you have A1 or B3 etc. , there are percentage of mark that determines what grade, if you check the back of your WASSCE certificate you may find valuable information . If you take sometime and check WAEC website you may also find valuable information there. The ECTS [The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System is a standard means for comparing academic credits], If you check your transcripts you will see how your university graded your degrees and the ranking order they used. When you are applying for your temporary authorisation to stay, all your documents have to be originals or certified ( authenticated and super-legalised) true copies. If you are applying for master's degree programmes at the University of Luxembourg, you don't need to authenticate your documents during the online application; however, after you have secured admission, you must register your degree certificate with the Ministry of Education Luxembourg ( Check my channel for more on thIs). If you are applying for three courses, it is only logical to modify your motivation statement to align with the various courses. You may start your motivation letter with your first choice and change it to fit the other two courses. You should explain in specific and simple terms why you chose the programme while emphasising why your previous educational and professional experiences adequately equipped you for this programme. I did my second masters in Integrated Systems Biology, and they only accepted 16 that year. They will take only 18 applicants this year, so it s highly competitive. Unfortunately, meeting the essential requirement may not be enough. So this is why motivational statement and other skills acquired is highly crucial. Each applicant can apply for three different programmes. Masters in Biomedical sciences is organised in collaboration with different universities, so students will study different semesters in those universities, that is how the programme is structured which will give students a good experience. So if you are interested then go ahead to apply, to also increase your chances. Masters in integrated systems biology is competitive and they will accept only 18 students in the 2023/2024 academic year, during my time when I got admission to study Integrated Systems Biology in 2016, they accepted only 16 students then and I was one of them. So try your best and make sure you write a compelling motivation letter. All the best.

In my view, if you are travelling for your masters, I don't see the need for urgency in also trying to go with all your family members at the same time, after your primary objective is to travel to study and for the relocation of your family, so it makes more sense to me that you travel first for your study then after some time you plan for your family based on what the law says. My advice will always be to choose the course that is related to what you studied because the university is particular about it. First, you need to read about the master's programme you intend to study and compare that with what you did in your first degree and make the determination. I dont know the context of what you studied, so you are in the best position to make that determination. To apply for a bachelor's degree at the University of Luxembourg and in Luxembourg, you must first apply for the recognition of your high school certificate to the Luxembourg Ministry of Education. Now, one of the conditions for that recognition is that you MUST have evidence of either a French, German or Luxembourgish language certificate; otherwise, your application for recognition will not be processed, and consequently, you will not be able to secure an admission at the University of Luxembourg for Bachelors degree programme. Unfortunately, this is a mandatory requirement, and there is no way around it. If you are applying for masters degree programme,you can go ahead and upload your simple copies of your documents. The recognition of your foreign diploma will only be needed after the faculty offers you an admission. Usually, insurance is needed during the application of your temporary authorisation to stay and not during admission process. The minimum requirements is usually second class division, there is no specific mention of the level of second class so I think that may just be enough. However, this is just one of the documents you need to submit you still have to convince the admission department that you have the necessary background needed for the chosen programme which should be evident in your motivation letter, résumé and other supporting documents. Good evening Please can my GCE(general certificate of education) serve as proof of English and French if I took both subjects in my GCE. I wish to apply for applied information technology and I'm from Nigeria.
Usually, if you studied with English Language in your previous studies that may be enough to be used as a proof of English Language proficiency . However, the university may request for further proof of they believed that your level of English is not up to B2 level. Regarding proof of French language proficiency, usually if you are applying for a bachelors degree programme that is taught with French you need to provide evidence of French language certificate passed, I think also if you have studied and passed French course for at least up to 3 years of high school as shown in your transcript that may also be okay. However, please send an email to the University of Luxembourg to confirm this so that you will know exactly what to do before next application opens by Feb 2024. It is also advisable to choose courses that the percentage of subjects that will be taught with French component is less. Regards Nuel

Every applicant can apply for a maximum of 3 different programmes. It is upto you whether you want to apply for one or three programmes but bear in mind that the university of Luxembourg is highly competitive perhaps the more the programmes the better your chances of getting admission. Nevertheless , choosing three programmes is not a guarantee for admission because you must meet the requirements so ensure that you choose courses that have some correlation with your previous studies and write your motivation letter very well. Also include other Extra skills, training and certification that are relevant to the programme you want to apply, prepare a robust CV using Europass format etc. All the best. Nuel .

Now I can see the emphasis seems to be European and not even Luxembourgian health insurance, how do I go about this since am not in Europe or Luxembourg but primarily the last phrase in the write up is my main huddle or issue, which is …“, or a health insurance indicating an expiry date”
Does that mean any insurance indicating an expiry date, that is any insurance with an expiry date is acceptable, because there’s a health insurance policy for people traveling , which you pay for in Nigeria that covers health and is cheap, so I don’t know if this counts?
Cos in the first breath of the write up, they emphasized a lot on European insurance, and then the “,or Health Insurance Certificate Indicating an expiry date “following the earlier phrase is spinning my brain in different direction and giving me a lot of ideas , or method to go about it and am not sure if it’s correct and I don’t want to do something wrong and mess my admission.

If the person has been living in Luxembourg for at least one year, it may work, but not sure outside Luxembourg. The best way is to have it in your account. You may contact or email the Immigration Directorate for more.

I have a question pls, during my application, the first stage was to fill out my personal details.
I got confused in the section of (Secondary Education) as follows, title of degree,rank,and grade scale, my question is does SSCE have grade scale,ranking and title of degree.

Hi, WASSCE has ranking system, whether you have A1 or B3 etc. , there are percentage of mark that determines what grade, if you check the back of your WASSCE certificate you may find valuable information . If you take sometime and check WAEC website you may also find valuable information there. The ECTS [The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System is a standard means for comparing academic credits], If you check your transcripts you will see how your university graded your degrees and the ranking order they used. Applying for admission and applying for a visa are two different processes. When you are applying for your temporary authorisation to stay, all your documents have to be originals or certified ( authenticated and super-legalised) true copies. If you are applying for master's degree programmes at the University of Luxembourg, you don't need to authenticate your documents during the online application; however, after you have secured admission, you must register your degree certificate with the Ministry of Education Luxembourg ( Check my channel for more on thIs). If you are applying for three courses, it is only logical to modify your motivation statement to align with the various courses. You may start your motivation letter with your first choice and change it to fit the other two courses. Hi, it is not about how many pages but the quality of what you wrote and the contents of your CV. You should explain in specific and simple terms why you chose the programme while emphasising why your previous educational and professional experiences adequately equipped you for this programme. I did my second masters in Integrated Systems Biology, and they only accepted 16 that year. They will take only 18 applicants this year, so it s highly competitive. Unfortunately, meeting the essential requirement may not be enough. So this is why motivational statement and other skills acquired is highly crucial. Masters in Biomedical sciences is organised in collaboration with different universities, so students will study different semesters in those universities, that is how the programme is structured which will give students a good experience. So if you are interested then go ahead to apply, to also increase your chances. Masters in integrated systems biology is competitive and they will accept only 18 students in the 2023/2024 academic year, during my time when I got admission to study Integrated Systems Biology in 2016, they accepted only 16 students then and I was one of them. So try your best and make sure you write a compelling motivation letter. All the best.

It is unclear if admitted bachelor's and master's degree students can do that during their visa application (I don't have the full facts now); from what I read from the appropriate website, researchers or university employees might apply for their dependents simultaneously with their own application. Nevertheless, I wonder if that applies to other students. In my view, if you are travelling for your masters, I don't see the need for urgency in also trying to go with all your family members at the same time, after your primary objective is to travel to study and for the relocation of your family, so it makes more sense to me that you travel first for your study then after some time you plan for your family based on what the law says. First, you need to read about the master's programme you intend to study and compare that with what you did in your first degree and make the determination. (1.) From the research I made on this, the account has to be your own or a family member's ( the family member in this regard is your parents, as stated by the Immigration Directorate Luxembourg). (2.) You are allowed to apply for three different programmes per applicant, but you need to pay the application fees separately if applicable. If you are applying for different programmes, it is only logical and reasonable that you modify the personal statement to suit the various programmes, so you may have to make some few modifications accordingly.

Hi, I have made a video about this. So kindly check out my channel and find the video on the bachelor's degree programme. However, in summary, one of the main bottlenecks will be language because you MUST have adequate knowledge of both French and German Language to study Bachelor in Medicine at the University of Luxembourg; this is a mandatory requirement. C1 certificates are required in French and German, and there is no possibility of studying Medicine in English at the University of Luxembourg.

To apply for a bachelor's degree at the University of Luxembourg and in Luxembourg, you must first apply for the recognition of your high school certificate to the Luxembourg Ministry of Education. Now, one of the conditions for that recognition is that you MUST have evidence of either a French, German or Luxembourgish language certificate; otherwise, your application for recognition will not be processed, and consequently, you will not be able to secure an admission at the University of Luxembourg for Bachelors degree programme. Unfortunately, this is a mandatory requirement, and there is no way around it. @@sianaorji7311 The basic requirement for a bachelor's degree is a high school certificate, which is equivalent to a WASSCE certificate for those from West Africa. However, if you are applying for a bachelor's degree programme at the University of Luxembourg, In that case, you MUST first apply for recognition for your high school certificate and attach the certificate of equivalency from the Luxembourg Ministry of Education before completing your online application. The university of Luxembourg does not offer such courses . Try the Czech university of life sciences Prague Czech Republic. If you are applying for masters degree programme,you can go ahead and upload your simple copies of your documents. The recognition of your foreign diploma will only be needed after the faculty offers you an admission. Usually, insurance is needed during the application of your temporary authorisation to stay and not during admission process. I find it very strange that the programme you are applying demands an insurance, please read the process carefully and inquire from the department. Regards Nuel

Is the type of language proficiency exam important when applying for masters in university of Luxembourg. For example, would IELTS general be accepted for masters degree in university of Luxembourg
Usually, IELTS academic is the norm. However, I don't have this fact as of the time of your question, so kindly email the admissions department (SEVE); they are in the best position to respond to this specific question.

Your question could be more precise. However, if the programme the person applied for involved a scholarship, the information on how to apply for it should be in the course description. Also, during the application, those that meet the criteria for specific scholarships will be notified with a link on how to make the scholarship application ( I made a video about these selected programmes with scholarships). Hi Bright, during the online application you dont need to do that, simply upload your documents as required. However, if you are offered an admission by the faculty, you will need to apply for the recognition of your foreign certificate, at the point you will need to authenticate your documents. Hi application for admission at the university of Luxembourg for non EU nationals will open around Feb 2024 and last until April 2024 so you can still apply within this period. The minimum requirements is usually second class division, there is no specific mention of the level of second class so I think that may just be enough. However, this is just one of the documents you need to submit you still have to convince the admission department that you have the necessary background needed for the chosen programme which should be evident in your motivation letter, résumé and other supporting documents. Where did you study? You first need to understand the admission requirements for the first degree. For example, the West African Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE) is accepted in most European schools. From simple research, I found that many universities require a combination of Cambridge International AS and A Levels and Cambridge IGCSEs to meet their entry requirements.

Please can my GCE(general certificate of education) serve as proof of English and French if I took both subjects in my GCE.

Usually, if you studied with English Language in your previous studies that may be enough to be used as a proof of English Language proficiency . However, the university may request for further proof of they believed that your level of English is not up to B2 level. Regarding proof of French language proficiency, usually if you are applying for a bachelors degree programme that is taught with French you need to provide evidence of French language certificate passed, I think also if you have studied and passed French course for at least up to 3 years of high school as shown in your transcript that may also be okay. However, please send an email to the University of Luxembourg to confirm this so that you will know exactly what to do before next application opens by Feb 2024. It is also advisable to choose courses that the percentage of subjects that will be taught with French component is less. Regards Nuel

I have the option to choose a 3 semester program or one semester program. Which one will you recommend
Every applicant can apply for a maximum of 3 different programmes. It is upto you whether you want to apply for one or three programmes but bear in mind that the university of Luxembourg is highly competitive perhaps the more the programmes the better your chances of getting admission. Nevertheless , choosing three programmes is not a guarantee for admission because you must meet the requirements so ensure that you choose courses that have some correlation with your previous studies and write your motivation letter very well. Also include other Extra skills, training and certification that are relevant to the programme you want to apply, prepare a robust CV using Europass format etc. All the best. Nuel .
