I grew up near the Gila river, just outside Gila Bend, back in the 50's. We lived out in Theba which was a little rural outpost of the local corporate ranch that was there back then. The last time I was there, about 30 years ago, the name had been changed from Theba to something else that I forget now. I beleive it may have been called Paloma or Paloma Ranch then. I do remember being in Gila Bemd and asking at a local convenience store for directions to Theba. The attendant looked at me like he had seen a ghost. He mentioned that no one had called it Theba in many, many, years. And he asked how it was that I knew it as Theba. I told him I had grown up there. He was amazed! I need to go back there and visit one last time brefore I kick-the-bucket! lol

I went there in the late 90s when there were repairs being made. It was a beautiful design!
The work on the dam is beautifully done. My favorite part is the eagles by far.
