Bill (Old man's garage) is very knowledgeable on carbs and blow through set ups, Billy's S10 ran 4s in the 1/8 and mid 7's 1/4, he definitely knows how to make them work. I've been a carb guy my whole life, always thought I had a good grasp on tuning, but I still manage to learn new things from watching Bill. Guys like him who are willing to share their knowledge to help others are invaluable.
Love what you accomplished here in short order. Super cool blend of old school and brew school tech. It’s like exploring these cars with an artist’s mind. They’re a blank canvas in many respects just awaiting personal touch. This one is unique in a good way!
Cool setup. There was a guy back in the 90s that had a TT 351W with a carb. The carb was only modified with solid floats. He just used a single fuel injector spraying into the intake to supplement the fuel under boost. Additional enrichment injectors are pretty old school but I like the simplicity. Keep up the good work.
Hell yeah man. That thing is only going to get better from here as that carb will make more power by giving the engine a colder fuel air charge. This is too cool man. Congrats I know that your excited about this setup
It's back to old school cramming for a week long foxbody test. For sure if you have timing pulling down to 4 degrees it will run like junk, nice way to figure the problems, it's a hit, some more tweaking then you will have your Calypso beast. Great job guys.
If you have access to a welder; a couple slices into the top portion of the tube of the carb hat will allow the tube to angle downwards. May help the coupler & assist w/ hood clearance. GL
Hey Brother I jst got an AFR gauge and I’ve got a Moates quarter horse I’m going be installing all this soon and calling Leech to see when and if they can tune my car remotely. I was trying to find video that shows what pin you used to attach AFR gauge to tie into ECU.
Nice! I’m not sure if Leech is currently taking on any new cars at least at the moment. I can’t remember the PIN number right off the top of my head. (I think it’s pin 27)
That was awesome seeing it come to life. Looks like you have a little more tuning to get it dialed in, but so far it's nice to see something different, old school lol
The gm style iac on the terminator x fixed everything i hated about it, starting, stalling, idling. Man i wish you could have given that a shot before ditching efi.
One thing I learned from big chief on the nitrous setup their dealing with, by just tuning the idle changed the fuel throughout the rpm range, it’s compounding. Of course they had 8 idle screws, but it still applies. Makes sense though why you tuning on the rear idle screws changed it.
Im gonna be doing the same thing your doing but with turbos … im gonna build my own carb and all .. the problem is i have other projects to get done with before i can open another can of worms !!! Lol … i like what u did there thanks for doing that .. gives us poor guys a heads up on the to get it done list !!!
one time, without access to a brake line tube bender, I just used a pair of spark plug boots for vent tubes. looking back, i realize we coulda used the groove of a pulley. whatever works after the parts stores close, right? :)
Put zero’s in your timing modifiers. If it spikes lean on accel, try an aggressive pump cam, then go up in nozzle size if that doesn’t work and start over with the cams. I put a vacuum pv that opens even faster you just don’t want it to open too early like if you don’t make much vacuum you don’t want the pv open at cruise. I set it a couple inches under cruise vacuum. Is the rear pv blocked off? If so then there will be a big jump in enrichment when you put a brpv in. Because you can adjust both main jets and pv channel restrictions as well as what load the enrichment is introduced you should be a able to “step” you way through enrichment :p
Big chief has a really good you tube video where he goes way in depth on carburetors. Probably posted it 6 to 8 months ago. Video title is day 2 testing the corvette. He's holding a carb in the thumbnail.
Cool what you are doing. Since you got the carb running so well, wouldn’t it have been easier to remove the Holley and just lock the distributor to 20-22 degrees?
If runs 10 flat and is reliable it's gold!! Now, we ran 10's in a foxbody with nitrous, and it was easy! But you guys have a real street car that has the potential to drive to the track, change tires and drive home, until you break something!!
With the carb... And the evaporative cooling you do not have to pull very much timing if you are pulling any timing at all.... That is one of the benefits of running a carb
hello team =) , can you tell what the line from the front metering block is for, what does it do, did you mod it yourself or did it come that way, great job so far so great ! . thanks for all you post and teach us . =)
Cheaper to run a terminator then spend money on gauges, ignition boxes, rev chips, boost controller. you still wouldn't have a data logger. Cool seeing the tech mixed together. I have ms2 running coils, crank wheel with a predictor carb. Touch screen with no outside gauges.
So u know, the jets he's running will not be correct for you. Carbs don't work that way at all. You have to tune yours yourself. There's plenty of vids on how to tune a carb that should help you out. Personally I prefer fi
So with a blow through...do you still need to pump it 3 or 4 times to start it ?or since you have the electric fuel pump.there is no pumping it to get it to start.
Tire running on the brake line? Yikes cod end up like the guy on autotopia LA... Anywho sweet setup. I personally love carbs I've had carbs that worked beautiful better than efi in ways instantaneous throttle response ect.elevation changes yeah efi is better and turn key and walk away in cold weather is nice. Carbs will start ok but high idle stays on until you get back in an tap throttle. I would toss one on my 95 but I hate the idea of tearing it all apart seems it's all original configuration and works perfect, cruise even works flawless still and cruise on older manuals exists but isn't super common. If I had more than one car I'd have no problem modding one of em.

Awesome troubleshooting! Good to see the good and the bad of figuring out this setup! Great job Brother!💯👊🏾
Thanks OG!
@@BREW2LFOXBODY can this be done with megasquirt????

The "stop" sign. Merely a legal suggestion.
Never heard of this setup before your videos. Awesome.

Ole GM R&D seems to have their stuff figured out. A GM motor fixed all my problems and the terminator x just made it even better

Very nice, makes me excited for my blow thru fox.
Great Video!!
Is there a way to get the altinator to the driver side while keep the power steering ?
What kind of shifter was the automatic one in the Tuxedo fox
Good job! So the next step is a tunnel ram with dual blow through carbs?
The Old Man Knows his Carbs. I find it intriguing that your are using a Term X with a Carb.
That sound it equivalent to a baseball card in the spokes of a bmx bike😝 remember those days👍🏻
Was your knock sensor kicking down your timing fighting ping?
Hell yeah that's awesome
What was the power difference going to the carb from efi
Finally jumped on the band wagon lol…. Blow through ftw carb game all day right here son

What ring gaps are you running on the pistons
Man the carb setup is sweet. Is it easy tuning with the Holley?
Curious…Why you went blowthru if you have a Holley term x which can control the fuel and timing curve just by hitting some keys?
Good job Bmoney.
Knew that you would figure it out 👊🏾👊🏾
Hey what jets are you running in the primary and secondarys ?

I wish I could see this done with just a distributor. Still anyway I love it!!

Is there anyway to email or message you to ask about this wierd intake i have

The blow through setup is interesting, and you are proving it can be made to work. What are the real world advantages of this over standard EFI?
I would think you would of deleted the power valves and raised the jetting.
I like Andrew hat
alright now lets throw a nitrous plate under that carb and go partying !!

Kevin at CSU make some of the best carburetors for blow through
I'm not a smart man I'm just a redneck but doesn't old man garage always lockout distributor as far as timing?
They do but anything with boost or nitrous they definitely control that with some type of system MSD ect…
@@BREW2LFOXBODY yes sir...
Seen you pulling out of the parking lot on the carbon Fox looking damn good brew2l
They were running a msd 6530 programmable 6al2.
Sell off the terminator x and get you a msd 601523. Concentrate on your spark curve.
