Philosophy is wondering if that means ketchup is technically a type of smoothie.
Nah, Ketchup dont have enough tomatoes in it to be a smoothie, its a condiment because there's vinegar, salt, vegetable purée etc

This episode was the SECOND time the show writers did Jaime dirty. In the books it's consensual and brought on by the fact they had just reunited after being separated for so long, plus the fact that emotions were flying high with Joffrey's death. And Jaime didn't kill his cousin in the book to escape the cage in season 2. Two events that fly in the face of his redemption arc.
I just feel like GRRM thinks more highly of Jaime and his redemption arc than the showrunners do.
Wasnt season 4 the last season GRRM was involved in though? I know he wrote the episode before this.
@@ecstasyecshe wrote some of the episodes but even the ones he wrote he didn't have complete control over. The Brienne/Bear fight wasn't supposed to be in the episode it was in and he was not happy about it getting shoehorned in to the episode he wrote because it was not on theme but they wanted it put there so it was. So it wouldn't matter if he wrote the episode or not, they (D&D) get the final say.
Where are not in Hobbington, we in Rohan 😂
Considering how they wrote the last seasons, clearly D&D hated his character.
To be fair, Jaime doesn't deserve a redemption arc, as much as we all probably grew to want one for him. You don't be a person who pushes children out of windows and come to change in a short time.
'This is like Hobbiton.... Oh God its not! '... I'm dying 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👌... Love your reactions 👏👏👏
The writers thought that scene next to Joffrey's body was sexy and hot, and they were confused by the negative response to it. The actors said it was filmed as consensual but edited completely differently. We were as baffled back then as you are now.
Idk why they altered it from the book version like wha was the reason??
At the time, I believed them. But having rewatched, I think they absolutely made that up because of the kerfuffle it caused
@@NiKiMa023 Right?? There's no way they filmed it originally as consensual...she literally continuously says stop as he's pawing at her... he says "I don't care" ..if it was just rough without her saying stop I might be inclined to believe that. Because in episode one they're being rough but consensual, he stops when she says stop. Writers loved to insult the audience's intelligence.
@@triinomialmaybe in the directors cut she says "don't stop" each time 😂
D & D are d*ickheads. The scene was completely consensual in the books.
If it makes you feel any better, Jaime never forced anything here in the book material. It was consensual which is very important and changes his character a lot. Meh. One of the silly unnecessary show things unfortunately. They actually said they did it on purpose to remind people that he is pretty bad. Utterly ridiculous and didn't even make sense.
He is pretty bad thou- I never drank the whole "ohh I saved the city from the crazy king who was going to burn everyone" koolaid... like lets be real Jaime- you were only trying to save yourself and your father (& his men) who were at that moment sacking the city, which is why Aerys was ready to burn it down in the first place. The people of KL unknowingly being saved from a burning was like reverse collateral damage, if there's even a term for that.
Did he push a kid out of the window in the book? Because we see him do that in E1. How can anyone say he is ever a good person after that? There is no atonement for that.
@@Metal0sopher However, GRRM makes the point that almost all of his main characters are "grey". The show chose to subvert that aspect of the books. Tyrion can be really evil in the books and does some truly awful things.
@@_justinblizzlebut it doesn’t make sense. If Cersei is the only person he loves why hurt her? He’s bad not stupid
@@_justinblizzle thats not taking into account that Jaime was 17, had dreamt of joining the Kings' Guard from his young age and was shooked and devastated to see what the King was really like, and how the Kings Guards were being passive to his abuse. In that moment, hearing Aerys ask for his father's head was probably the melting point to jaime's breakdown, but def not the only reason he killed him. He had dreams as a child of protecting the innocents, Aerys completely crushed those, but i sincerely believe he cared a lot at that point.
to quote: "And me, that boy I was ... when did he die, I wonder? When I donned the white cloak? When I opened Aerys's throat? That boy had wanted to be Ser Arthur Dayne, but someplace along the way he had become the Smiling Knight instead"
Charles Dance is so F-ing cool.
And doesn't take himself too seriously despite his talent. Booyakasha!
As an American, imagining the kid at 9:55 saying, "Grandad you've really confused me, mate" to Tywin Lanister is absolutely sending me 😂 Hannah is so effortlessly funny 😂😂😂
I just love how Tywin sands there talking shit about Joffrey over his dead body. 😂
Just caught on to the SYMBOLISMS of Sansa being scared to climb a ladder on to Littlefinger’s boat, mr ‘chaos is a ladder’. It’s fitting for her arc that she had the bravery to climb Littlefinger’s ladder of chaos and reach the top
Damn that's a good one. I didn't even think of it til I saw this comment.
Oh shit true. Even Hannah saying "It's just a ladder" didn't clue me in.
OoOo nice 🤌✨
DAMN didn't think about that
as if they thought of that, thats something youd only expect from breaking bad.
Its such a shame people are unable to differentiate between people and actors, Joffrey actor killed it what a performance, talk about a villain, perfect
Its the same as Ralph Fiennes. IMO the best vilian actor out there.
Jack Gleeson NEVER got hate for playing Joffrey. He has talked about it several times about how everyone thinks he gets hated on and bullied, but everyone he has met has been nothing but nice to him
@@cmbtkingjoaquin phoenix gladiator 🎤
Fun fact: in the movie 1917 which you just reacted to recently, Joffrey's brother Tommen was Corporal Blake who you saw at the beginning of the movie, and his brother Lt. Blake at the end of the movie was Robb Stark.
You beat me to it lol
And in Lannister fashion, Tommen's actor dated the actress who played Myrcella.
Ned had all of those virtues that were discussed by Tywin.. And he was still murdered. It really is difficult to be truly good and a ruler.. Game of Thrones shows this over and over
If there's one thing Game of Thrones should teach you, Hannah it's that there are no good people or bad people. People are just not that simple.

Tywin gave a lesson to two people in that room.
So this episode became so controversial when it first aired, that it is the only episode in the entire series, that doesn't have a DVD commentary. If you watch the episode recap after the credits roll on HBO, Dan and David (the writers) say that Jaime forced himself on Cersei. However after it aired, there was so much controversy in the media surrounding it, that not only did they change their tune, but they stopped speaking about it all together (still haven't to this day) and let the actors take the heat for it in interviews when they denied that it was meant to be a r*pe scene.
Id say its impossible to rape cersei, considering what happens in the rest of the show
@@danieljackson4511tf wrong with you.
28:21 This is one of my favorite acting moment. The way Emilia move her mouth and prononce those words with her eyebrows, it's plain magic.
Really? I feel like her acting is cringey sometimes. Like her emoting and facial expressions.
Disagree, she's a bad actress 😂 never bought her as Daenerys.
Yeah..... The face acting is the kind of acting I would expect in a stage play where you have to reach the backrow with your performance. The lifting of the eyebrows, the stilted 'royal' delivery. Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed Emilia Clarke as Dany. You just can't help but root for her. But the acting....she lays it on SO THICK and that would not be an issue if it weren't for the fact that her fellow actors are far more nuanced and natural in their acting. Like when Dario gave her those flowers and she gave him a lingering look before catching herself and compose. It was so....jarring. she doesn't 'flow' in her lines. She visibly acts them out. I would expect all that face acting in a Marvel Movie, though Emilia playing a badass superhero who blows up things with a smirk and lifted eyebrow delivering a badass one liner:" I love the smell of Dracarys in the morning"
I love Dany's character and how she was written. But Emilia sometimes overdoes it.
@@roddo1955 well she’s in marvel’s secret invasion and her acting is stiff and she makes one face the whole show
@glazedgreeneyes she literally had three emmys Nominees for her Performance as daenerys, are you blind or something?
Your reaction to the Hound's snot rocket made me pause out of laughter!
Awwww. Hannah looks adorable in that pin-up girl type outfit/hairstyle!!!
One thing i appreciate is how outraged the fans were after jamie r***s. Cersi due to the sex being consensual in the book and at no point does jamie force himself on her or anyone during the books excellent video btw really enjoyed your reaction x

I have to say it say, i absolutely LOVE Hannah's hair in this video.
Season 4 was fantastic. I think the largest reason why original GoT's quality frayed near the end was that they didn't have an ending written yet by G.R.R.M - meanwhile, House of the Dragon so far has been great and everything is already plotted out. You should definitely look into it. It's a Prequel too so, doesn't really affect much in the current show. Oberyn is also one of my favorite TV Characters of all time. Frantic Bi-Energy Badass with a Spear.
I love your reactions, I love your humor!!!! You're giving the "gossiping with old friends over wine" energy i love it!!!
Great reaction!! The Hobbiton part made me laugh. 😁 It is so much fun to watch you with this show! 👌
The scene with Jamie and Cersei is just so uncomfortable and weird. In the books, Cersei is explicitly consenting and it also takes place right after Jaime gets back to Kings Landing when they see eachother for the first time, not after weeks of Cersei giving him the cold shoulder. In the show it's just terribly written, apparently the intention is that Cersei "gives in" after the beginning which is just gross and bad, Jaime is still assaulting her.
But for the purpose of the characters, Cersei is "okay" with what happened, despite the horrible execution of the scene.
Thank you for sharing that with us. Because I am a SA Survivor & that whole scene is so disturbing. Especially where Jaime has had some positive character development
"apparently the intention is that Cersei "gives in" after the beginning which is just gross and bad" - that's basically what happens in the books, though. She is initially fearful that they will get caught and tells him they should stop, but then Jaime persists and she gives in.
@@afonsomatos2025 refusing/hesitating because you are scared of getting caught fucking and refusing because it seems you just don't want to fuck is very much different psychologicaly
@@afonsomatos2025yea, she is hesitant bcuz Tywin or one of the septons could walk in on them- they are in a church afterall w the dead kings body right there but she wasn't hesitant about having sex w Jaime- it was the location. But then she realizes how much she misses him and doesnt care. Even goes so far as to insert his penis inside her bcuz he's fumbling
@@afonsomatos2025 It's a bit similar in that she's initially reluctant, but the difference is that the whole time in the show she's shouting "stop, no" whereas the book has more of a tone of reluctance due to the circumstances. In the show she's actively fighting him off, in the book "her mouth opened for his kiss" and she was moaning.
Jaime is pushy in both of course but the book has dialogue like "quickly now, do it now, do me" and Cersei is kissing him and stroking his hair. Versus the show where she's actively fighting him off the entire time.
There's also the difference in circumstance. In the show, Cersei has been pushing him away for weeks so it comes off as pent up frustration. In the books, it's their first time seeing eachother since he was taken so it's feels more like a passionate reunion.
In both cases Jaime is pushy and aggressive, but the tone in the book is definitely less violent and more just pushy, and the most clear difference is that Cersei is enthusiastically into it before they start actually having sex versus the shows version where she's explicitly saying no the whole time.
The actors playing Cersie and Jamie said they didn't intend that scene to come across as so - "R...."-ey.
One of my favorite character growth in the books is Sansa. A lot of other book fans don't like her but she's gone from a naive girl that belived in fairy tales to seeing what reality really is. I look forward to finding out what else becomes of her in WoW. And since the chapters are POV, you're given access to the thoughts behind her actions and realizations.
Yeah this show is good at making you question your own humanity 😳
Btw, I’m pretty sure Joffrey’s brother is also one of the main kids from 1917!

Joffery dying is the best result, regardless of what happens to Tyrion, because Joffery was getting bolder and bolder in his cruelty toward Tyrion and he would've done worse to Tyrion ultimately than anyone else. It's basically would you rather 100% be tortured and killed or just have a chance of being killed? The later is always the better option. Joffery had to die.
Tommen is the kid who died trying to get to his brother in 1917 you and Ash watched. His brother in that is Robb in this.

A video from Don't Trust Hannah AND Just Trust Ash on the same day? Today is a good day.
As someone else said that scene with Jaime and Cersei really shouldn't have happened. The creators themselves said they messed up and didn't intend to make THAT happen with Jaime's character, instead putting the blame on their camera angles and dialogue. Since then a lot of the fanbase including myself have decided to ignore that part as if it didn't happen because it wasn't supposed to and feels very out of place for Jaime.
The creators… Dave and Dan 🤮
I always chalked it up to the PTSD of being captive and losing his hand. Then he comes home and Cersei rejects him, then Joffrey dies. I figured he just lost it. NOT an excuse, I just guessed that’s why they went that way. To me Jamie never really redeemed himself anyways. He seemed to and then just did something horrible again. Every time.
@kimberlyjeanne9456 Yeah that makes sense. And yes Jaime at this point in the show I'd still class a bad person considering everything with Bran. Although purely because the writers and actors said it really wasn't intended this way, I don't want to see it this way either. Jaime is a bad person but not in the sexual assault sense I've never thought. It's so out of character
This episode really highlights that there is no black and white, no good or bad, no up or down in GoT. A very strong gray area exists amongst many of the characters who are in it to survive. In the moment, their actions are the right thing for them.
You notice here, Tywin says he's not responsible for what a soldier does; And he also famously said "When soldiers lack discipline, the fault lies with their commander.". Because Tywin is a massive hypocrite.
I couldn’t believe you said lord bellish was the nicest guy and he killed my fav character in 9 episodes

I felt the same way when Joffrey died. I was like, yeah choke on it, you little s***.
Zero redeeming qualities in him, unlike most other characters.
the jaime scene is just so unnecessary, it bothers me so much, especially since it didn't happen in the book!! great reaction Hannah can't wait for more of this season it's so good!! I must say you look lovely tonight Hannah! More so than usual. I love the dress and your new hairstyle. Very pretty. And very good reaction as usual too. I thoroughly enjoy seeing you get all worked up over this show. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to watching more reactions from you.
Love the dress and thank you for sharing your thoughts on this episode
I love the retro hairdo and dress. Classic beauty.
i absolutely LOVE the scene between Tywin and Tommen about what makes a good king. yes he is basically saying listen to me. but also other counsil in general if he himself lacks the experience... it is an honest and fair observation of past kings, resulting in a good lesson. im not denying that Tywin uses it to strenghten his powergrip a little here, but not in a mean or outright deceiving way.
i honestly got pity for Cersei here though. her first born son(regardless who he was) laying dead infront her and her father basically shittalking him. Tywin should have waited to be alone there with tommen, because it was the perfect place. infront of the consequences of failing as a king.
Tywin may be a cold and calculating man, not refraining from dishonourable actions(sack of Kings Landing/Red Wedding), but HE IS wise, strong, intelligent, rational and besides selfishly ensuring the best position of power for his family/legacy he works towards "the greater good".
we see a lot bad actions of Tywin in the series/books, but it should not be forgotten that Tywin, for the most part peacefully ruled the seven Kingdoms as hand of the King for 20+ years.
Tywin doesn't do "evil" things for fun, or because it is easy. his actions and orders serve a valid, calculated purpose.
If Tywin, just like Stannis, had a bit more empathy and mercy in him, like Renly, and a bit more honour, like Eddard, he would make a perfect king.
I can’t fault Tommen for not feeling anything about his brother’s passing. His brother was a sociopath who occasionally tormented him as well. If I had a sibling like that I would feel nothing but relief in this situation 😂
For the rest of us who have seen the series, it's cute to see you trying to analyze what you think might happen.
She definitely is no Summer Child, though. And she catches on quick( must be because she's a performer herself, she follows every beat in the script). I know everyone thinks Tywin was being cruel for saying those things about Joffrey in front of Cersie but Tywin only cares about extending his house over everything and everyone….period.
Ignoring the truth just makes it hurt more when someone shoves it in their face. Poor Cersei raised that little monster, the least she can do is hear her father's opinion of his grandson.

The scene with Jaime and Cersei wasn't rape. He was being forceful with her and she was trying to resist the urge because she felt guilty having sex right there with Joffrey's corpse but it was consensual in the end. Both the actors said it wasn't rape and so did the director the show. I can understand why it looks that way to some viewers.

This episode was a great set up for things to come
Now for the real world stuff. The Wildling attack on that village. Wildlings are a displaced people stuck behind wall. Considered savages by the Realm. And now necessity(white walkers) pushed them to climb the wall and raid villages. Killing innocents to send a 'message'. Basically an act of terror. After the events of last saturday, this episide hits hard. And war will follow. The Thenns are savages. The North will never forget what they did to that village. Ygritte thrives on revenge, blind with fury because of Jon. The rest feels right in scaling the wall and defeating the crows. And more death will come from it. And innocents will suffer for it. 😢
Min. 29:03….Hannah speaking Valyrian 😂😂😂I said it wrong but you get the idea 😂😂😂 …. she is just hilarious😂😂
Watching you feel all the conflicting emotions was hilarious. These best seasons of GoT are really good at provoking that
There will be many people who read the scene in the book that this episode's events were adapted from (namely, the scene next to Joffrey's body) and say "that sex scene was totally consensual in the book" but they're misreading the scene (and possibly treating "working an eventual yes out" as valid consent). Much as in the show, Cersei attempts to fight Jaime off, but because the chapter is told from Jaime's perspective, it doesn't become a direct quote until he hears what he wants to hear. Her resistance is treated as scene description, and her consent is put in quotation marks. It's one of the ways that the medium puts a finer point on things than an unreliable narrator. Just something to be aware of.
Hmm idk maybe I need to read that chapter over but to me it comes across as Cersei was not agaisnt having sex w Jaime, it was just the location (a church) and the fact that anyone, including Tywin, could've walked in on them. Once she realized Jaime wasn't worried about any of that, she was no longer worried either. To me that's totally different than her not wanting to do it period and then eventually giving in bcuz he's essentially not taking no for an answer. George even posted on his 'not a blog' about it.
Your hair looks dope as hell 👍
Your rants are so funny....😂😂😂😂
Excellent reaction, Hannah - as usual!
You have like Sherlock Holmes insight about the plotline.
She watches a lot of movies. After a certain point you can follow the beats of a script and themes are constantly repeating themselves working towards a build up. She is the kind of viewer writers dream of. She pays attention and follows the story.
