Gods the prose in A Feast for Crows is really top shelf. Like AFFC alone is worth it to pick up the books, whether we ever get the final book or not. It's worth it, trust me.
The very first episode, Ned Stark showed all his sons what it meant to be the one to carry out the punishment by beheading the guy that saw the white walkers and fled the Nights Watch. Robb and Jon both beheaded men with no hesitation, just like their father taught them.
Just a reminder, Janos Slynt conspired with Littlefinger & betrayed Ned Stark in favour of Cersei, ordering the killing of Ned's men. In Season 2, he killed a baby in front of its Mother and willfully followed Joffrey's orders no matter the extremity, until Tyrion banished him to the Wall. Happy to do all that, yet would not show even a slight ounce of bravery at the defence of Castle Black. The bloke didn't deserve a head on his shoulders x
Yeah it was the right thing to do. It was a long time ago of course, and Jon probably didn't know absolutely everything he had done, but it is proper punishment, to be killed by Jon, the oldest remaining "Stark" child to kill him.
He also advocated for Jon to die after he confessed about having relations with Ygritte. Jon probably knew that Janos betrayed his father at the very least. Janos decided to cross the wrong man.
It doesn't change that Jon absolutely did NOT need to kill him. His very first action as commander is behead a guy just because he said "I won't comply, boy"... Personally it's one of my fav moments of Jon because it brings a lot of grey to his morality. But people somehow refuse to see that. Can't imagine the outcry if it had been Daenerys...
Nellie gave us a good expression from time to time. It looked like she was thinking "I'm the only one here. Who else is Hannah talking to?" - Janos Slynt betrayed Ned Stark in season one. Seems fitting that Jon Snow takes his head.
Remember what Eddard Stark said in season one "the man who should pass the sentence, should swing the sword" Jon lives with the code of honour, taught by him.
Jon had to do it to gain some respect from those lads. They considered him young and unbrave so he had to install fear and respect as a leader. Great reaction Hannah 🎉
Honestly Jon did show him mercy, the man said it himself. He's always been scared, he abandoned the wall and hid during the fight with Wildlings. After what he said Jon couldn't trust him to guard that place and he'd be putting others in danger bc of it.
I assumed that during my first watch, like Ramsey is just now starting to get a bit of a reputation but Roose's creed has always been "a peaceful land, a quiet people". He's all about discretion, there's no reason Littlefinger would know what's up with Ramsey. That said, I still don't agree with this story deviation from the book. Littlefinger in the books clearly wants to marry Sansa himself. He'd never put her in a position where another lord has any power over her - he wants to be the only one manipulating her. He keeps trying to match her with lords in the Vale, who are unlikely to live long or aren't a threat, and are most importantly close by. I couldn't see him doing this in the books, not in a million years. They seemed to be going in a similar direction in the show for a while, only for this to happen, and it felt so out of left field to me. I get that they didn't have Jeyne Poole for this Ramsey arc but they could have introduced a new "fake Arya" character that looks like her and stayed on track. 🤷
@@WatashiMachineFullCyclewhile writing season 5 D&D probably already wanted out, hence why they pushed GRRM away after he was heavily involved the previous seasons. They didn't want his input anymore because they wanted to do their own thing with the storylines, and they started condensing them. Hence why they put Sansa and Ramsay as one story. It was all so that they could finish the show soon.
"He's like a mad scientist or something!" Qyburn was a former maester at the Citadel. He was obsessed with advancing the medical knowledge of Westeros, and conducted experiments that killed every people. When the archmaesters discovered this, he was thrown out. Janos is the Gold Cloak who betrayed Ned and killed Robert's baby bastard for Joffrey (Tyrion sent him to the Wall). The Wall is a military organization that operates on Martial Law. Janos committed mutiny (a capital offense) twice. His cowardice endangers the life of every man of the Watch. Jon had to take his head off (unknowingly, partially avenging Ned).

Don't feel too bad for Lord Janos, he was the one who killed that baby near the beginning of season 2 when the King's Guard were hunting down Robert Baratheon's illegitimate children.
Each chapter in the books is from the POV of a certain character, and takes you inside their mind to show what they are thinking. One of the main things that goes through Sansa's head is a lesson her septa taught her, "Courtesy is a Lady's armor." No matter what thoughts are going through her head, or how much she hates someone, she always shows a courteous face, and keeps her true thoughts to herself.
i wasn't surprised jon did the deed he was raised by ned and one of the things he said is "the one who passes the sentence should swing the sword" and jon did just that. Which is fitting cause janos played a role in neds beheading as well as his own.
I loved seeing Nellie twice in one week. What a sweetie! Don't forget, Hannah, the guy Jon executed was the king's guard who killed the babies in Season 2. Total scumbag.
@dont trust hanna - the woman who plays Brienne (Gwendolyn Christie) is a model in real life.. she also plays the principal of the school Wednesdeay Addams goes to in Wednesday. - Maisie Williams (Arya) said she was sooo happy when the show transitioned her to the House of Black and White.. she finally got to ditch the costume she had been wearing since the start of the series.. lol

Hannah.. it's fun watching you get upset over the Skinning part.. especially since at the moment you weren't aware that they were literally skinned alive. Arguably the most painful possible way a human can die.
In the scene with Brienne we see that the actress does not resemble the description of the book character. In the books Brienne is described as being ugly and is mocked because of it. In the show they cast an actress who is not ugly, so mentioning the mockery is confusing for the viewers.
Brienne deserves someone who actually does think she's the most beautiful woman in the world. But this story she told Podrick does show why she was so devoted to Renly, and also shows us more of Renly's kindness and why people were willing to follow him. RIP Renly. Edit: Also, regarding Maester Aemon, I think him being ill is mostly just a consequence of being really, really old (and living in a fortress made of stone and ice - that cannot be good for anyone's health when winter is coming). The actor who plays him was 92 years old when this episode originally aired, though it was likely filmed a year or two earlier.
I didn't think I could possibly enjoy your reactions anymore than I already do (which is quite a lot). But Nellie takes it to the next level. She's adorable, and I wish she could be your co-reactor on ALL the reactions. LOL If we were just talking about his cowardice, I might have felt sorry for Janos Slynt. But combined with everything he did in Kings Landing (betraying Ned, slaughtering babies, etc.), I felt nothing but satisfaction and a sense of justice when Jon executed him. If anything, I felt bad for Jon because you know that's not something he wanted to do. But he knew it was necessary, and he honored Ned's teachings while doing so: "The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword. If you would take a man's life, you owe it to him to look into his eyes and hear his final words."
I can tell from your interactions with your sister's dog that you are a good person 😊 I love that moment when Jon goes through with executing Janos Slynt, because it's the start of making his character morally greyer. That moment shows him becoming harsher and not taking sh!t anymore, it's echoed next episode with "kill the boy", as well as to how he will deal with the child who stabbed him early season 6. These are choices he made, not thing he needed to do. There were other possibilities. Season 1/2 Jon wouldn't have done these things. "He is done being nice" is the message conveyed. In the books this is most likely foreshadowing for his resurrection as a sort of wight (he will not come back just the same as before, this is not what the books show for those resurrected by fire magic). But I got surprised to see everyone defend the action in the replies, saying Jon "had" to do it (not true, ice cells are used for punishment/insubordination), that it was the "only" choice to "cement his power" (funny how it's not called "power hungry" when it's him)... 🙄 But you had the right reaction Hannah.
In the very first episode we’re introduced to the Stark’s while Eddard is executing a man. He’s teaching all the boys a lesson on a Lord’s duty and how “the man who passes the sentence swings the sword”. Now we’ve seen Theon, Robb and Jon have the execute men who follow them. You can tell Eddard’s boys specifically took his lesson’s seriously based on how they handled it. And Theon (who never really listened carefully) failed in comparison.
Without giving anything away, you have good instincts. As for Gwendolyn Christie (Brianne), her character is supposed to be, let’s say, not a beauty, but I’ve seen her in interviews and she is quite attractive, charming, witty and has a wonderful sense of humor. She also did a fabulous job in the limited series “Wednesday”. You would have fun with that one. Good luck with the boat!
Totally agree She’s gorgeous for certain, I love her as the Devil in The Sandman series from Netflix as well. Very talented, funny and beautiful actress judging from all I’ve seen from her. PS edit: Wednesday is so damn good! I love the lead actress playing Wednesday, she is killing it in that role. I hope they do more seasons.
The actress that plays that girl in the House of Black & White, is clearly a great actress, she plays this role so well, and played a completely different character in The White Queen as Anne Neville, (my 1st cousin 18x's removed), she is kind of whiny in it
Without spoiling, I mean you were pretty much right that Littlefinger would never give sansa away, especially to boltons, especially to a guy he does not know very well. George (author) himself said his littlefinger would never do such thing. It's just our lovely dumb writers that didnt know how to write characters that were clever than them (which is pretty much most of characters).
I think Margery was too absorbed in her triumph in becoming Queen and subtly humiliating Cersei, that she didn't realize that Cersei was there to offer an olive branch of sorts so she could stay in King's Landing, close to Tommen. But in her digs, she infuriated Cersei and made an even bigger enemy.
Jon had to kill Janos because of two things 1). He needed to gain respect of the other brothers because they see him as young and inexperienced, 2). You CANNOT be afraid in the night’s watch, if you are a coward then you are the weakest link and will be a burden. Also Janos played a part in killing Ned so screw him🤣
No, he didn't have to kill him AT ALL no matter how trash he was. It's a scene showing Jon become more morally grey, not a scene showing him as making the most commendable choices.
@@AriaIsara umm, yes he did? Jon could not afford to look weak, and have someone disobey his command as LORD COMMANDER. So he had to kill Janos, it being morally grey might have some truth, but it’s most definitely because he had to. If Jon does not kill Janos, the rest of the Night’s Watch would not follow Jon, plain and simple. They would see him as someone they can push around and no consequences will come of it. He had to show that what he said goes, no matter who the hell you are. Also, the fact holds true, you can’t be scared and be in the Night’s Watch, especially with how few men they already have he would be a useless body.
@@Cbreezy74 the punishment for insubordination can be the ice cells. Clearly Janos being a coward, he wouldn't dare much after being punished and he would have gone to the other castle. And why should Jon cement his power? He didn't even think of being commander, protested a bit at first, then THIS is his first action. Funny how no one utters the word "power hungry" when it's him. That moment shows him becoming harsher and not taking sh!t anymore, it's echoed next episode with "kill the boy", as well as to how he will deal with his young aggressor early season 6. These are choices he makes, not thing he _needs_ to do. There were other possibilities. Season 1/2 Jon would NOT have done these things. "He is done being nice" is the message conveyed. In the books this is most likely foreshadowing for his resurrection as a sort of wight (he will not come back just the same as before, this is not what the books show for those resurrected by fire magic).
@@AriaIsara I think you’re wrong about Jon not doing this if it were S1/2 or did you forget this was the same Jon that was ready to to kill Alliser for talking shit about Ned? Yeah in the books Jon is a bit more power hungry but him and show Jon are completely different people. Jon is not a morally grey character, not in the show at least. He makes it a point to live his life the way Ned did. I agree with your “kill the boy” because it helps my point that he HAD to do this. He needed to show his subordinates that he was not a boy, that he wasn’t weak minded, because remember half of the Night’s Watch didn’t want Jon to be Lord Commander to begin with, so they can’t trust him. Him doing this makes them know “okay he means business.” I agree that in the books Jon may be a bit more power hungry, but definitely not in the show.
@@AriaIsara like you can’t honestly sit there and tell me that if Jon didn’t kill Janos the other brothers would have taken him seriously. They’d mock him the way that Karstark mocked Robb for how he dealt with Jaime and Catelyn. Also, screw Janos, he had what was coming to him. There can’t be any cowards in the Night’s Watch.
Brienne’s actress is recently an actor but she is normally a model. So it is ironic to call her ugly in the episode. Side note: I have no doubt they contour her lines to be slightly deeper to try and make her look a little more masculine than usual. I have seen her in different makeup styles so I will say I don’t doubt it.
Excelente!! Ok...very good The sweet Jorah kidnapping Tyrion to meet The Queen .Which one ? Queen Cercei ? or my beloved Queen Daenerys (actually Khalessi) ?

In the very first episode we’re introduced to the Stark’s while Eddard is executing a man. He’s teaching all the boys a lesson on a Lord’s duty and how “the man who passes the sentence swings the sword”. Now we’ve seen Theon, Robb and Jon have the execute men who follow them. You can tell Eddard’s boys specifically took his lesson’s seriously based on how they handled it. And Theon (who never really listened carefully) failed in comparison.
11:15 I'm proud of you, Hannah. You are not gagging anymore😂😂
big applause for no gag reflex, i guess. (Lucky Ash)
Totally agree
She’s gorgeous for certain, I love her as the Devil in The Sandman series from Netflix as well. Very talented, funny and beautiful actress judging from all I’ve seen from her.
PS edit: Wednesday is so damn good! I love the lead actress playing Wednesday, she is killing it in that role. I hope they do more seasons.
It's getting closer and closer...she's not ready. But then again...who of us was?
30:42 "I need to speak to someone with hair"....cue Nellie.🥰
The sigil of House Bolton is a skinned man. And we wonder why Ramsay ended up the way he did 😅
Another amazing and pure reaction! I adore Nelly too!
The actress that plays that girl in the House of Black & White, is clearly a great actress, she plays this role so well, and played a completely different character in The White Queen as Anne Neville, (my 1st cousin 18x's removed), she is kind of whiny in it
Oh, I love Nellie! You're a good Auntie.
let’s please get over these next few quickly
8:45 Ash adding the hollow thunk thunk thunk killed me. (well I assumed it was Ash)
Remember what little finger said to varys. "Chaos is a ladder"
Brianne is a total knockout 😍. Pun intended
Yes, Margery is poking the lion… and not with a 20 feet stick 😂
more like the lion is poking margery hahaaa
I think Margery was too absorbed in her triumph in becoming Queen and subtly humiliating Cersei, that she didn't realize that Cersei was there to offer an olive branch of sorts so she could stay in King's Landing, close to Tommen. But in her digs, she infuriated Cersei and made an even bigger enemy.
Nellie is so precious 🥹💕
Keep up the perfect work 🤩
We need more!
Baelish said you can be a victim or a volunteer. The best manipulation because he does make a point.
remember janos slynt personally cutting that infant’s throat.
Soooo much better with the pup!!!!!😊😊😊
Brienne’s actress is recently an actor but she is normally a model. So it is ironic to call her ugly in the episode.
Side note: I have no doubt they contour her lines to be slightly deeper to try and make her look a little more masculine than usual. I have seen her in different makeup styles so I will say I don’t doubt it.
Dog: Im not sure, but is she talking to me? 🤔
Love your content. Keep it up sis 😊❤
i waited a whole season for you to find out about this wedding. Because baby its BAD!!!!! 😢
thanks for reaction
Daenerys isn't the only Queen out there you know... there's also the one they were trying to not get seen to be sent to the whole episode
Good morning from Alaska
Excelente!! Ok...very good The sweet Jorah kidnapping Tyrion to meet The Queen .Which one ? Queen Cercei ? or my beloved Queen Daenerys (actually Khalessi) ?
Ramsey makes joffrey looks like a disciplined school girl and Euron Greyjoy in the books make them both looked like Sam !!
great reaction!
Hannah please react to La casa de papel AKA Money Heist! It’s absolutely amazing, you would love it!!
