Tony was a great Railway Man and a wealth on knowledge. A gentleman in and out of the job.

One of the best videos on U-tube because it was taken in a time when it was possible to travel in with the driver. Wonderful to see if from the drivers angle. May Tony Renehan now rest in peace and be rewarded for the great job he did over many years.

Great video with the late Tony Renehan . The bogie noise is quite evident , it was terrible for a long time and they seem better now. Soundproofing was put in the cabs after a time.

How short the platforms in Portarlington, among others, were back then.
No such thing as push/pull locomotive option either for that train. Track speed was so much slower and all those level crossings have been removed.
Now this line is going to be prepared for 200km/h speeds with works starting next year.
We're starting to have the bones of a first class rail network.
Great to look back at how things were.

It's unfortunate that it's so hard to hear what they are saying. I don't say that as a criticism though, merely an observation.

What is the purpose of a uniform? Professionalism is about service and doing your job well.
