You did an outstanding job on that boat and motor
Very nice looking Squirt. I like how you went with the lighter hue of wood for the dash, and you windows with the side glass is something I have seen either. I just ordered my Squirt plans from Glen L, but I won't start the build until I order, recieve, and read through Plywood Boatbuilding, and the Boatbuilding notebook. I've been reading a lot on the forum to get a better understanding of boat terminology and the process as well. I hope I can find a vintage Johnson as well. Mating up a new engine to a classic looking wood boat just doesn't look right. Once again, very nice job on your Squirt.
I built one of these in highschool. It currently runs with a 35 Evinrude which over the years has proven to be about the most power that hull could take without some redesign.
Yours looks very nice and performs well on that 18. A touch of nose down trim if you've got tabs would stop the mild porpoising. I've found that at speed the optimal trim range for this hull is very narrow.
