Thanks for breaking the rules of wild camping to the detriment of others! Not stealthy... large tent that you pitch up whilst other walkers are about. And it's flaming red.
I have had one of the Hiileberg Namatje extended red tents for over 20 years. i bought mine in Sweden in 2001 for roughly 650 pounds! Worth every penny! Used it exclusively to do all but 11 of the 4000+m mountains in the French, Swiss and Italian alps, most of the 3000+m as well, all of the 2000+m mountains in Norway and Sweden. All Munro's. 😃Never had any problems at all. The weight is OK as the space benefit is worth it. I also used an under groundsheet to protect the thin tent groundsheet. I am now 70 years old and don't get out that often - (being diabetic sucks). Good luck for the future, stay safe.
Was hoping for the France adventure to continue, either way I'm sure this will be a banger as you would call it 😅 great work with the channel mate, had me hooked since it randomly appeared on my feed.
Wow that tent is massive! My 4 person berth barely has enough room for me and 2 dogs. First time watcher, and it brought back really lovely memories of visiting that area last year, loved it. Had an amazing hike. Reminds me to return soon. Thanks for the great video.
Great video and it does get pretty chilly up Yorkshire. I did a little motorcycle camp, not wild but just for the night at Ocarber Farm campsite, not far from Ingleton . I was trying to cry in the middle of the night it was that cold but my tears were froze haha . But i do love the winter camping .. Looking forward to your next video 👍👍👍
She might be a bigun but I'm sure she is grateful for all the attention you have shown her😅 brilliant that you have given the tent a new lease of life and she looks brilliant, well done with all the hard work and boss series of videos
It's a monster one-man tent. You can almost fit a Soulo in the vestibule. 😂 But I can already see a winter hike with some friends/family, enjoying the space, having dinner like those really decent toasties, watching movies on a tablet. Perhaps just be mindful of those days when wind gets a name.
Your the man…..great video content and polished performance. I love your preparation and backup kit…..safety is key to survival. Your knowledge and skill is right on the mark. Am I entertained…….yes I am …..your vids inspire me to want to have a go at camping but I will stay on the Nursery slops first ….I need knowledge and experience to be safe. Well done.
Thumbs up every video. I'm looking forward to the continuation of your French adventures. (Also because comments add to the TH-cam algorithm as well as thumbs up and likes.)
I think the term for that tent at the end is fly / car camping, Dartmoor has rules against pitching family like tents in such places. Myself I've hiked 20 miles backpacking got to where I intended to pitch found such a tent occupying it, right next to a car driven off the road. I had to hike on with failing daylight and my head torch on the coast path for my backup spot. Bad timing that day, but it does make you think some people are just idiots.
Totally agree with you about the vanilla Yfood being fab. Banana one is nice too. Fab video again this week, good way to cook the steak and then make it into a toasty. ❤
Fantastic video as always Liam and well done for having the confidence and judgment to go out there and do your stuff understanding your own capabilities and limits despite being advised otherwise. Companies always err on the negatives. You have done a great job on that tent 👌
Leim mate bloody great job. Looking good 👍. So you got yourself a bargain. Thanks again for a great camping experience, you smashed it again bro.see you soon Alan 💯👍
Hi Keith. Really enjoyed this one and found it very interesting, like the majority of your videos. Near where I live, in the woods on high ground, there is one of these of these bunkers. This is the first time I have commented on one of your videos, although I have watched many of them. I'm not ex-services, so I don't know if I should be commenting, but please keep the videos coming. Much respect to you and Tracer Round, David.
As always Liam, first class video and production. Just out of interest, how heavy was your rucksack!? Thanks for sharing yet another quality camp fella 🙏😎
Thanks Marc, appreciate the support as always, not sure what the weight was exactly, gotta be close to 20kg .. the tent weighs over 5.5kg and thats without those custom snow skirts!
We used these tents in the army. Obviously green ones but it was on a cold weather operators course. One night in the 4 man a night in the 8 and then we had to build a survival shelter. -32 that week 😂😂😂
Thanks.. Enjoy mate! That sounds like something I would love to do, this exact Keron has been to Antartica, and crossed Greenland multiple times.. ( by the previous owner 😂 )
Once myself and 3 of my children 14 8 and 4 year olds put up a Khyam Indiana 8 huge tent in 55mph on a camp site other tents were being blown to ribbons but we got it up the kids then went and scavenged extra guy lines 😂
I would test the waterproofness of your big red tent before you head out in any rainy weather mate. A couple of mine have faded over time and I needed to reproof them 👍🏻
You want to paint that old tent with Graingers nylon tent proofer which will make the flysheet waterproof but also help protect it from further UV damage. Ideal for an old tent - you can buy it in huge tins.
Professor McGonagall was bloody brilliant! 🧐 One of me favorites…😞🥺RIP Maggie Smith ! 😇 So many from HP have left us… How I wish I could’ve gone to Hogwarts. Don’t you Liam ? 27 Harry Potter actors have now passed ! Are we that old? 🙄🙄
glad to see the tent out , it seemed to do well , definitely loads of space for 1 , those toasties looked amazing , but I bet that rucksack was heavy carrying all that gear lol , I pissed my sides laughing when you said you shit yourself because someone was sat the other side of that wal 😂😂😂😂
Yeah rucksack certainly wasn’t the lightest, made me shit myself more because I was literally there a couple of minutes prior then came back and somebody was there 😂
Absolutely tremendous as ever, you are a natural entertainer young sir, looking forward to the last leg of the French adventure too, and great you got some sponsorship as well …….. onwards and upwards, it’s going to be brilliant if you can make this your living, totally deserved if you want it. 👍
Ah you're amazing, watched a few of your vids by now and they are all awesome achievements, with no let us it seems. How on earth do you find the time and energy, you put most peeps to shame, good ones indeed. Such a lucky chap to be out and about all hours in such stunning surroundings and fresh mountain air, hats off. Love them all and you it seems !! hehe xxx
Hope you’re not going to take the Red Shed to ever more windy situations until it destructs. Makes a nice, roomy, fairly inexpensive low elevation refuge. 👍
First time I’ve watched you. Great video. Thar a proper character. Ingleborough has some fond memories from when my kids, who are now in their 50s, were young. Once ascended with my wife and my border collie, Meg. It was fine at the start but began to snow. Half way it was looking blizzard like. “shall we quit” thought I. Then Meg got herself behind a rock and lay down. That decided us. If Meg thinks ‘sod it, no way’ it’s time to descend. Dare I say, back to the warm cottage we’d rented. Well it was winter. I’ll defo (is that the right word?) be watching more.
Tunnel tents are stronger than you think and have loads of room, I’ve got one from Argos for £50 about 13 years old now and it’s stood strong in some pretty high winds and it’s never leaked. Supposed to be a 6 man but I’d say 4 two end bedrooms with a main area in the middle and 2 doors, I couldn’t fault it if I tried
Awesome video! That tent is a beast! Are those water bottle holders on your pack straps built-in, or did you add them yourself? I've been searching for some to attach to my Forclaz pack-any recommendations?
@@GoodBlokeOutdoors Ah nice, its a great feature i'm used to on my running vests, unfortunately my rucksack doesn't have them so need to retrofit them.
Top effort, I can only imagine the weight of carrying that bad boy and those scaffold tubes that constitute as poles! I hate carrying a tent over a kilo these days 😂

you should make your way to the colorado Rockies, deep in the rockies like sawatch mountain range, or anywhere near Ouray/Silverton areas.
Thanks for breaking the rules of wild camping to the detriment of others! Not stealthy... large tent that you pitch up whilst other walkers are about. And it's flaming red.
You’re welcome mate, are you able to send me a copy of the Wild Camping rule book?

Thats some going, I just ordered my first Hilleberg tent a few days ago, hoping I get as much use out of it as you did. 👍🏻
Was hoping for the France adventure to continue, either way I'm sure this will be a banger as you would call it 😅 great work with the channel mate, had me hooked since it randomly appeared on my feed.

Beast of a tent mate! You've given it another life. It'll be amazing in winter conditions that!
The "f**king hell" after the bite of toastie was so funny. 😂😂😂 To be fair, it did look pretty darned awesome. Another great vlog, thanks Liam!

How has the XC90 been? Keep thinking about getting one. You should call your tent Le grotte rouge.
Always oil the meat bro, never the pan. Leave to sear befor turning and you'll always be good. Rest for half the cook time unless its cooler outside.
