Great review Lexi. I wear the BR21 in the foundation and it’s a really good match. I like the fact it’s so lightweight on the skin and it seems to look even better as the day goes on. I like the brush that comes with it but wish we had a choice whether to get the brush or not.
I agree that there should be a choice for the brush. When you need a second bottle you have to get the brush again which is not ideal.

Thanks for the great video! Latent oxidation is real, I get it with pretty much every Chanel foundation including the Eau D’Teint water fresh, A lot of foundations oxidize on me, I guess it’s probably a combination of sunscreen and my oily skin. I get the 10 shade in everything which is one lighter than I am, and the Chanel consultants always want to put a shade darker on me. I tell them no, go with 10, trust me, in 90 minutes it will match me. The Westman Atelier stick oxidizes on me too. I wear foundation and powder on my neck, and I contour my jawline.
It sounds like you are well prepared then! If you try this one, get a sample first just in case it oxidizes too much. This one definitely changes more on my skin.
Thanks for this amazing review. I love when you give a background in your videos - ie - the extraction process in this video or even the way you gave a bio on Stella Tennant in your Nailed It video. Lexi I tried a sample of this foundation and loved it, BUT it oxidized on me also and I am even lighter than you. So sadly I will not be buying this foundation. I hope they will create some additional shades one day.
I am glad you got a sample first! I think Chanel needs to add lighter shades in general. I never get a perfect match with them.
Hi Lexi foundation looks very beautiful and natural on you. I dont know if i am going to purchase soon. At some point i probably will. But i just purchased Chantecaille cushion and i also very intrigued by Valmont l’elexir des glaciers serum foundation, which is absolutely crazy expensive, but i know the line. I have their votre visage masque, and thats the best hydrating mask that i ever tried. Better than BR or Chantecaille, and i do love both skin care lines , especially BR. I saw review on the foundation, and definitely planning to get, but maybe later this year, when it will get cooler weather in SF . Love your wing eyeliner, so french. Love your overall look, not much make up, but very natural and flawless. That all look with winged eyeliner absolutely gorgeous 🔥 blessings🙏💕

Wonderful review. I went back and forth on this foundation. I’m very pleased I decided to take the leap. In my opinion it’s gorgeous. As you said it has more coverage than expected. I didn’t have any oxidation. I was surprised, except for the tip of my nose, it held up under a mask. All said, I love it.❤️

Here in the UK they have a BD01 shade which seems to be the most neutral and lightest shade, i wonder if that would work!. I was so excited to see you review as i have been on the fence regarding this foundation for the longest time ever! I have an almost identical skin colour as you so i always check your reviews before buying anymore foundations 🙈 as i have two drawers full with mismatched foundations from blind buying😂
I wear the BD01 in the other foundations and it is a good match. Too bad they didn't make it available in this formula here.
I love both side with powder or without powder. It’s really a good match Lexi, it is a perfect. I even liked your face with little oxidation. I am happy that you are liking it specially when this is so pricey. ❤️

I was deciding between B10 and BR12 and after checking swatch color on Chanel website it looked like BR12 is slightly darker than B10 so I went with B10. I normally do my face and neck with foundation so the oxidization isn’t so much of an issue. B10 fits my fair skin pretty good, slightly more yellow on me but not a deal breaker (I always think a little bit of yellow cancels out the redness better than pink tones). I wonder if BR12 would suit me even better than B10? Hmm… Did you notice your BR12 shade create an overall pinkish tint filter on your face or it kept pretty light without making you look slightly flushed? That is my biggest concern with rose tinted foundations usually. I’m happy with my B10 but wondering if BR12 could be even better? If it doesn’t create a pink color cast and is actually the same lightness as B10 minus the yellow then it might actually be a better fit. What are your thoughts, Lexi? Thank you so much!
I have noticed that in some of the foundation formulas, the b10 and br12 are really just different undertones but in some it is slightly deeper. I am not sure if it is deeper in the sublimage. I don’t think the br12 is that pink. I feel like the b10 is more yellow than the br12 is pink but there is a bit of an overall rosier tone. I think it is subtle though so i don’t think i look flushed. Can you get some samples? It is a shame they don’t have more shades in this!
Hi Lexi..new subscriber here.I have very very dry skin and I'm still searching what foundation suit for me.Can you recommend that foundation?
Have you tried the koh gen do moisture foundation or suqqu the cream foundation? I think both of those are very good options if you want a perfected natural look. The Guerlain l’essentiel High Perfection Foundation i think will work with very dry skin if you are interested in a matte finish. And i think that this Chanel foundation will work as well for an almost satin matte finish. I would try to get samples first to see what you like best but I think the suqqu would be my top pick for very dry skin.

Thanks! I think the finish of it is fairly similar to that of the Chantecaille cushion but the Chanel has more coverage worth one layer. I think the future skin gel is actually more similar to the les beiges from Chanel in how it appears on the skin - a little dewier. This Chanel is what i expect the cle de peau foundation that is coming out this summer will be like. It is in between matte and dewy but not quite satin. Very natural yet polished looking on the skin. I don’t think any of the Chantecaille finishes are quite like it.

Lexi, what happens with B10? Does it look really yellow and then oxidize to orange?
I don't know about that with this formula. I tried b10 in the other Chanel formulas and they were too yellow so I then just compared swatches of those with the B10 in this formula to the BR12 for this formula. The swatches looked pretty similar to how B10 looks in the other formulas like ultra le teint but they are just too yellow for my skin. I don't think this will oxidize to orange but will probably just look a tad more golden. You can contact Jelissa (in the box) for samples or swatches.

And of that limited shade range most are eliminated from the upper end. I'm BR112 and there is nothing close to me. Apparently brown people come in three shades -_-.
I agree with you! I think medium tones usually have the most advantage with a foundation range but deeper skin tones and olive skin tones definitely have the most difficult time finding the right shade and a product that has an inclusive range.
I had the B10 and it was amazing. But I gave it to my mom so she can have something luxurious. I used to buy her the Dior matte foundation. I can’t believe she said she couldn’t find the difference between the Dior and this foundation. Mind you, she’s not into makeup so I don’t blame her but it’s disappointing she couldn’t appreciate something expensive.

Chanel shades are so tricky. I’m in between B10~B20 😑 I always get B20 but when it oxidizes my neck becomes lighter than my face 🙄 Great review 👍🏼

I think the foundation still looked really nice after a full day wear. Too bad the oxidation is so dramatic. Maybe it has to do with all the skincare in the formula. I agree this is a “value buy” for Chanel. If I had to price the brush separately, I would guess $75 so like you said it’s reasonable for what you get. The Hermes lipsticks look great on you!!

Lexi I don’t understand the colours as when I’ve bought Chanel foundation it has been 10, 20 , 30 etc and this is BD and BR I’ve always been 10 or 20.... xx
They have had br for a while. The r is for rose, the d is pretty new and stands for dore for golden undertones.

How does it compare to the Les Beige healthy glow foundation?
The les beiges is more sheer and more glowy with a better color range.

I tried the Sublimage Foundation and didn’t like it at all. It didn’t offer any radiance and felt too heavy. So disappointed that I sent it back.
@@margaretpage3911 wow I am sorry you didn't like it but I am glad you were able to send it back! This is why companies should make samples readily available for everyone.
My issue with high end skin and particularly when it's infused or included in makeup, as if vehicle and concentration of an ingredient doesn't matter, is that almost none of these ingredients or claims are held to the peer reviewed standard. It kind of doesn't matter how exotic a flower is or what your distillation process is, if the efficacy of the ingredient hasn't actually been researched by anybody but your PR, I mean research team. You're better off taking that money and going to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon if you want that miracle achieved. Makeup is face value, you take it or leave it, but I hate the scam that is skincare and cosmeceuticals.
I agree that you shouldn't expect skincare benefits from makeup. I think they are separate. I do believe that the quality of the ingredients can impact performance of the makeup though and how it performs on your skin. Makeup does provide some protection from outside factors and I think the ingredients and extraction methods are important for that reason. But I don't believe it will improve your skin over time and I don't think that should be claimed by cosmetics products.
