- hey guys! in today's video im going to dying my hair Burgundy at home so i can wear all the fall colors without it clashing with my pink!
my hair did not turn out at all how I expected so I hope you guys enjoy the process lol.

Hi guys! Sooooo I actually filmed this video last week and after only 4 washes its already fading in a really weird and I’m kind of disappointed 😕 I have a few gray stripes in my hair now and I feel like the red shade faded the fastest bc my hair is turning more purple and less of that warm burgundy purple with each wash . Sooooo I may try to use a totally different brand and try to get more a true maroon shade this time! Or I may just use wrath on its own and not use conditioner so it’ll last longer... idk lol but I’m pretty disappointed with how quickly this color faded after the process took so long and now my extensions are dyed this color for now reason 🥴 🙈
Ohno thats so saad! My Purple hair also lost all the red tones and turned green. So i used a red color with ONLY RED pigment in the ingredient list (no other pigments). It was a swedish brand but I hope you find something!💓💓💓 this saved my hair.
Lunar tides has cranbaby you might be able to mix it and get what you want. I was disappointed with ritual it was so pink.
@@ashh996 I was going to recommend lunar tides as well. I've also heard really good things about special effects.
AF Transylvania has blue undertones so maybe try adding an orange dye to cancel that out a bit and warm up the color? 💗
I used ritual and the light grey shade (I forget the name) and had the same issue with fading, but then I redid it with just ritual and it was the perfect burgundy shade. I highly recommend just using ritual

It looks AMAAAZING🥰😍😍 Also a tip: I always, ALWAYS do a "test strand" of hair when tryin a new color. I fully leave the color my desired time and alter from there! This way coloring is less scary. Love from Sweden!!💓💓💓

oooooh I love it!!! I started doing red and I use Wrath mixed with a bit of purple rain and it makes a gorgeous shade of maroon! love this so much 🖤🖤🖤🖤
tablespoon turtle does it last pretty well or does the red tones fade quickly? How often do you touch it up? The wrath left my hair so quickly now I’m left with a purply gray
melinda It did last pretty good, I do use a sulfate free shampoo and only wash once a week though! When I was fading it out I would use dandruff shampoo in hot water and it still lasted, it just turned a berry kinda mauve pink shade!

i always mix my arctic fox shades! and i also always do swatches on a piece of paper, i’ll swatch each shade alone and then layer them and play around with it till i have the shade i want :)) love your videos!!

I love this video. My name is Melinda as well and my mind was going as fast as yours. I don't want it to be to red, to purple, to dark, to light.. etc. haha its gorgeous!
It looks good!!! The color you are going for is what I was trying to achieve and I just gave up lol. I couldn't find a semipermanent dye that was the color I wanted. I added a little bit of black to wrath and it basically turned black even though I used almost the entire bottle of wrath and only a squeeze of black. I ended up doing purple and pink split color which turned out ok but keeping each color on the proper side is so hard so next is a dark teal ombré hopefully lol.

Haha I have purple 💜 rain, virgin pink and violet dream mixed in my hair right now (omg I love it! My hair is like a neon purple especially in the sun) BUT I'm dying it tomorrow because it clashes with EVERYTHING right now that I want to wear lol

I find the dark arctic fox shades fade sooo much quicker than the lighter ones, but that could just be me. And that red brown colour turned blue in my hair after 2 washes lol

Phloxie's Dyestuff is a great channel on youtube that does a strand test of a bunch of different colors hair and it is incredible. Definitely worth checking out, since you said that the dye never turns out the way you think it will. Also your hair looks great!!

bleach sucks all hair dye out !! I've had this happen and I agree its really high maintenance .. you have to top up every month
Wait why couldn’t you touch up the roots? Genuinely asking lol is it bc of the bleaching damage or you just didn’t wanna go through the bleaching process again and rather grow the roots out ( I just dyed my hair blue and I’m curious if I won’t be able tot just touch up my roots after a while)
It’s because I used a diy color stripper on my hair and then bleached it too soon after so it caused a TONNNN of breakage and now my hair is just way too fragile to try to bleach at all 😩 if I had any overlap whatsoever my hair would break off again and it would likely break off just from the bleach running down the strands when I rinsed it out. It still breaks off even if I just get my moisturizing and protein shampoo rotation mixed up 😭 my friend that’s a stylist told me that most people’s hair will get to the point Eventually where they can’t touch up their roots anymore bc their hair can’t handle it but I just sped up the process from my diy color remover 🤦🏻♀️ I have Whole video on how I damaged my hair and how I stopped the breakage if you’re curious 🖤

I love Ritual, but it always fades so fast for me t___t
I mixed Ritual and Frosé when I wanted a mauve pink, and I loved it until it faded first wash.
innsmouse have you tried wrath on its own? I’m considering doing that the next time. And I see you have blue hair in your profile pic, what color did you use for that? I’m trying to find more colors that will last as long as I want them too without staining my hair or getting stuck for too long
@@melindab I have yet to use Wrath! The blue in my picture is Aquamarine over faded Purple Rain - I recently did Aquamarine on just plain blonde and it's fading into the green undertone, which is not ideal for me haha. I may mix it with Purple Rain to combat that when it's time for a touch up.
