Thanks brother! It feels like it’s been one step forward two steps back with subscribers over the years so it was kinda cool to see the 1k mark get broken. Although I gained 3 subscribers right after this video dropped and then lost 5…🤣 Happy Thanksgiving Jason! Hope life is well and you and your family enjoy. 🍻
I appreciate that dude! It’s been fun with the service but it was time to move on and try to fill some of these holes in my collection on my own. In the end I think you will agree VGM is a good company and I will miss sharing the unboxings with everyone. I will definitely still be watching everyone else’s unboxing videos though. 🍻🤙🏻
I was subscribed to most of the VGM box guys and that’s how I found your channel. Nowdays it’s just you and Aggie Thunderpaw. I guess I’ll follow your collection journey even though I’m secretly jealous that you have more NES games than me LOL
The NES has been an absolute blast to collect for. I have so many more things I want to discover about the system and it’s history so hopefully I can get motivated and start putting some content out revolving around it. I have had a great time with this service over the past few years but it was just time to make sure the money I am spending is going towards specific things. I am thinking it would be cool to focus on a CIB set of the Black Box games. I have a few already and it would be a cool piece for the collection. Thank you for watching and commenting on the channel dude. It means a lot. 🍻🤙🏻
Wow 50 boxes that’s amazing , that’s over 4 years ! It’s good to take a break and see where your money is better served especially with your bigger collection it gets harder to get what one wants . Also wow 7-8 retro gaming stores within an hour is great , you should do a traveling video to these stores ! Congrats on your gaming channel growth friend !
That’s kind of what I was thinking too. It will be good to use the money for specific games I need for the sets. Yeah we have a ton of retro games stores in the area. When I say within an hour I mean an hour from home but they are all in various directions. 🤣 I have had a few of them on the channel before but would love to do a few more. Appreciate the love too my friend. 🍻🤙🏻
Thanks man! Every 5 subscribers that I get within a few days I lose 4 so it’s been fun watching that slow climb. 🤣 Lately It feels more like I need to find a spark with the channel or just hang it up. 🤷♂️ Either way it’s been a fun experience.
It’s a great company and the experience has been fun. It’s been best sharing the unboxings with everyone both with my own box and watching others too. But it’s hard to justify the value every month especially when you are chasing a full set. Just feels like the funds could be used better elsewhere. Either way it’s been a fun ride over the past few years! 🍻
End of an era indeed Josh, VGM have served you well over the 50 box hauls adventure, nice number to take a break from or stop to be fair. Nice video hope you have a good weekend.🕹🙌🎮🍀
It’s been a fun ride with the service over the years for sure. They have served me well and added a ton of great games to my collection. It was getting tougher to really add what I wanted through the service though. Appreciate you watching the final VGM my friend and I hope you had a great weekend and an awesome winter solstice holiday season! 🍻🤙🏻
I think so too. It was fun for the past few years I just feel like my collecting habits are slowly morphing into the next phase. Appreciate you Matt! 🤙🏻
Thanks dude! I just need to find a spark again with TH-cam. The unboxings have been fun to share with everyone but it was time to focus the funds elsewhere for the collection. 🍻🤙🏻
Wow! 50 VGm boxes. Two pretty good games to end out the run. I know that clay fighters 63/3 game isn't everyone's favorite, but it's great to have it for the shelf. And Terraria is one of my son's favorite games. I definitely think your money could be better spent and getting deals on things you want. The N64 and NES collection are just getting so big that I think you're better off going after the games you want that are just outside of VGM's limit
That’s the direction I am heading in with the collection right now. I need to start grabbing specific games and a lot of those are north of $50 a piece so this will help achieve that goal. Honestly feels like it changes the channel though by not having VGM videos. It’s been a fun experience and had been cooling sharing them with everyone. Either way though the show must go on…unless I get out of the TH-cam business.🤷♂️ Kinda need to find a spark with the channel and get motivated again just to have some fun with it. The friendships made have been the best part of it all. Cheers! 🍻
Definitely an end of an era. Your VGM journey, in my opinion, has been really good. 50 boxes 😮 You have great logic on why you are leaving. You can now "focus" with that $50, rather than gamble. You have drfo outgrown the service 👌 2 cool games to end it tho 👍
Absolutely the truth! It’s been a lot of fun and sharing it with everyone else has been the best part. All in all they’ve done me right but it was just time to do something different with the money. Hopefully I can focus a little more on the sets. Cheers buddy! Hope you are well! 🤙🏻
Good decision and description of the VGM service. They seem like an a great company to deal with, and a way to quickly grow a collection. Whiskey is good and all, but beer is my thing! Cheers from ZA.
It has been a fun ride over the past few years but it was time to move in another direction. PS4 would be a cool system to collect for and the greatest hits would probably be the way to go. All solid games and probably pretty affordable too. I appreciate the love dude. 🤙🏻 Hope you will continue to enjoy some of the other content out as well. 🍻
It sure does…where does the time go right? 🤷🏼♂️ Wither way it’s been a lot of fun doing these and sharing them with the community. On to the next thing! 🍻
I have never liked whiskey but that Crooked Crab beer from Odenton looks good and that's only about 30 mins away from me. Nice presentation buddy. Sorry to hear it's the last one
Really? I definitely have to recommend Crooked Crab dude! They have so many great styles of beer and the tap room is a pretty cool place all around. They have a great Pizza shop built in as well so it’s a decent place to take the family for lunch or dinner. It’s been fun doing the VGM boxes and sharing them with everyone. It was just time though to focus the funds elsewhere. Cheers dude! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving! 🦃🍻
Here for the whiskey!! Okay, and games too, ha ha. Had a friend think I'd get into Terraria but it was way back when it was still only on PC. Never tried a console version. 50 boxes is quite the legacy with them. Excited to see what you find with that extra dough now.
I have loved sharing these unboxings with everyone. It’s been something I have enjoyed watching on everyone’s TH-cam channels and will continue to do as well. It just felt like it was time to use the funds on specific games. I am not completely out of the sub service game though as I have decided to keep the GG RetroBox for a few more months at least and beef up my switch set a little bit. Hard not to feel like this changes the channel a bit though not doing VGM. 🤷♂️ The beer and the whiskey were excellent choices this video too! 🍻🤙🏻 Happy Thanksgiving Tom. 🦃
The big 50! And I've been waiting to see you open that Jameson bottle lol. I've never tried the ipa bottle but you know I love my Jameson. End of an era
A milestone unboxing event! 🤣 That Jameson bottle has been open for awhile actually. It’s solid but I am more the beer guy over the whiskey but this style is very smooth and has a solid flavor too it. It’s been fun doing the VGM’s but it was time to move on for awhile and see where else the funds can help out in the collection. 🍻🤙🏻
Nifty nifty 50! 🤣 It’s been a fun ride over the years. Just time to try my luck (and money) elsewhere. Clayfighter gets a bad rap and isn’t the worst fighting game at all. There are some serious stinkers out there. RISE of the robots comes to mind pretty fast and so does Ballz! 😂
Pretty good final box! I really enjoyed Clay fighter on the n64 back in the day! A really fun fighting game for me! Wow 50 boxes, that's crazy! I've decided to keep going with retro game treasure for at least a year hopefully to continue to build upon my snes, n64 and ps2 library. Hope you're doing well my friend!
Thanks bro! 🤙🏻 VGM has been good to me but I just felt it was time to move on and sink the dollars somewhere else for awhile. I had RGT for awhile too. They had there ups & downs for me but serve the same purpose in building out a collection. I will still be checking out yours and everyone else’s unboxings. I still enjoy watching them all. 🍻
As a kid, camping, bingo was a normal thing on Saturday night, Bingo caller always said “G FIVE OHHHHHHHHH” 😂 you made me think of that. Loved your intro
Interesting to see that its your last VGM for the time being That Grab theft auto can looks sooo cool haha The standard clay fighter game on the n64 was awesome, it was one of the first games I rented for n64 :) a great game to have collection, the Wii u game looks pretty cool as well Will be interesting to see how you use that 50 dollars in terms of your collecting goals and stuff Great stuff mate
The can art for this brew was pretty awesome wasn’t it?! 😆 That’s definitely one of the cool things about craft brews. They always have their own unique style. It’s been a good run with this service but it was definitely time to use the funds elsewhere and see what i can do with it. Cheers Raza. Appreciate you my friend! 🍻
And this is why i havent signed up for a service like this. Monetarily, the boxes are great. But personally, there are so many games that exist that i do not care to play/own. They are a solid service for the complete collection collectors. But if you're just looking to curate a connection based on nostalgia, this isn't the way.
I can honestly say it’s been a good run with VGM as a whole. But you are dead on point. If you are a new collector, a full set collector or are just looking for random games to check out they are fun and worthwhile. If you are looking for a completely curated collection none of these services are what you are looking for. It would be pretty cool though if they just randomly would throw in a heavy here and there and make it a true grab bag. Be like the lottery. 😂
Pour one out for the end of the era! I totally get wanting to put the money towards your collecting goals. That might be something I think about doing eventually. I've heard good things about Terraria, but it's not my type of game. The Clay Fighter games are always fun. Cheers!
Yessir! One for my homies! 🍺 It’s been a good ride with VGM. They are a solid service. It was just time to focus in another direction. The best part has been sharing the journey with everyone though! Cheers buddy! 🍻
It’s the end of an era 😢 Sad to see this series come to an end but excited to see what you do in its stead! A couple of awesome games as always my friend!
Life is forever changing. It was time to see what I could do differently with this money every month I think. Either way it’s been a lot of fun to do the unboxings and VGM are a good company. Hoping to translate this dough into a heavy every couple months to help get the two sets finished. Cheers Steve! 🍻 Hopenlife is good my friend. 🤙🏻
Wow 50 boxes - probably a great way to build a collection, but like you say getting those more refined titles are always more challenging. I’m with you on scotch/whisky- prefer beers and if I had any- I tend to ruin it by mixing it with coke. Take care Josh.
Thanks Nick! I am definitely more a beer guy too! I can see the appeal of whiskey but I am too much a light weight. 🤣 It’s been a fun run with this service but it was definitely time to move on and see what I can do on my own to keep working these sets out. 🍻
That would be insanity! If only these services were actual grab bags right? Imagine if they did send random heavy’s sometimes. That would be a guarantee that they would have people paying for boxes every month. 😂
CrabTheftAuto!!!!🤣🤣🤣 Clay fighters is not a bad pull. VGM is great and I understand that they have to run a business but, like yourself I think I'm over it. I reduced my subscription but, I'm not willing to cancel my subscription just yet. I like their service, just last few months they had a ton of issues with the boxes they have been sending me out to me and not every month I have time or want to deal with asking them for a replacement.
The can art for this brew is awesome! 🤣The beer is damned good too! You know exactly where I am coming from here then. I think the company does a great job and they serve a purpose. It’s been fun doing these and sharing them with everyone but the value just hasn’t been there for me over the past year and it just feels like the funds can be better used for the collection. What would be cool though would be if they would just randomly send some more valuable games in boxes. Not saying everyone would get them or even every. Only but just randomly make a box wild once in awhile. Then it would be interesting. I will still be watching everyone else’s unboxings and who knows what the future holds but it was time. Cheers buddy. 🍻 Happy Thanksgiving!
Spending it on the heavy hitters or whatever it is you are missing makes sense to me as you'll be getting exactly what you want rather than a gamble as fun as that can be.
That’s the 100% truth! It’s been a lot of fun sharing them with everyone but this will be much more enjoyable actually adding what I want to the sets and using all the money along the way for a goal. 🍻🤙🏻
I've said this for a while.. though I enjoy watching these types of videos, I can't justify spending that much and getting games like Wheel of Fortune, Where's Waldo, and stuff. Maybe they got a monthly beer box? LOL
One of the best part of doing any of these services is sharing them with everyone. I think they work best for a new collector looking for random games to try out and for full set collectors of cartridge systems. Beyond that it’s hard to justify getting all the filler games. Not to say I haven’t gotten some great games over the years. I was getting a craft beer box my wife gifted me a few years back. It was quarterly though. Got some great beer to try out but it was expensive too. 🤑
Really? That is kinda wild. 🤷♂️ I loved getting the boxes but it just hasn’t been working out well for me over the past 6 months or so. Just kinda feel like I can use the same money and add specific games to my sets better this way.
I can’t complain about my overall VGM experience. But that’s kinda been the problem over the past 6 months. Way too many light boxes. If I am taking a $10-12 net loss every month that’s the equivalent of a game or two I am not adding to either set…🤷🏼♂️
That whiskey sounds appealing to me… 🤤😅 It makes sense why you would stop using them - I assume it’s difficult finding games that collectors need as their list of needed games shrink. VGM should probably send you an extra chotchke or something for all the publicity you’ve given them by now. 😅
It’s a great whiskey! Really smooth and has a solid flavor. I think VGM is a solid service but it has to fit what your expectations are. When just starting to collect, chasing full sets or just plain want to try new games it’s a good way to do that. If you’re looking for specific games or higher end games it just doesn’t work. Either way it’s been fun sharing the unboxings every month with y’all. Cheers brother! 🍻
I played a lot of Terraria years ago on Xbox 360. Had my fun for a few months, and haven't felt the pull to go back much. I didn't care for the N64 Clayfighters, though the SNES Tournament Edition was a guilty pleasure for me back in those early fighting game days in the '90s. I think you're making a good call given where you are for games you want toward your goals. Content-wise, I imagine you'll make interesting new videos. Your personality is better than any mystery box. Look forward to what you do next!
No doubt that Clayfighter had more of a time and place and the SNES version was better than the N64 games. A couple games here that I am happy to add to my collections. I want to check out Terraria a bit. My youngest may get a kick out of it too. It definitely felt like it was time to use these funds in a different way for the collection. While I have enjoyed the boxes over the past few years and sharing them with everyone has been one of the best parts of doing them. Lately the bang for the buck just hasn’t been there. I have plenty of ideas for other content I just need to stop being lazy and execute them. 😂 Thanks for watching my friend! 🍻
Terraria is a lot of fun. Interesting to see how they incorporated the game pad. Well said. Unless you keep adding systems you outgrow what they can do for you. Good idea for new vids to replace these.
Definitely not disappointed in the games they have been sending it’s just that I could get those same games and spend less on them. Either way it’s been a lot of fun sharing the unboxings with everyone. VGM is a good company I just didn’t want to change the systems up and end up with shelves full of shovelware games. I have been thinking more along the lines of focusing the collecting habits more. Still want these sets though. 😂
@@DrinkGameswithJosh Once you start focusing and avoiding shelf filler the service isn't what you need especially when you are paying more for it. Wednesday the Game Loot box replacement vid goes live. We don't have a name for it but it was a lot of fun. Have a happy Turkey day buddy.
Terraria is awesome but you're gonna want to talk to someone who is very knowledgeable w that game to get really into it. Or just spend a bunch of time :) but either way the game is top notch and worth spending some time with!
Two decent games this month but don't blame you giving the service a rest. $11 down for the month is not what you want for sure They've been good for the most part though Take it easy dude👊
Appreciate that dude! 🤙🏻 The games have always been fun and the company is definitely a good business but when your losing $5-15 every month it adds up and I definitely feel like I can make that work for me better. Sharing the unboxings with everyone has been the best part of doing this though. 🍻🤙🏻
Kudos on box 50. Nice games , Terraria is an amazing title. PS3/ 360/wii u levels of the game are pretty much patched to the same level. PS4/xbox one / switch / pc versions will get the final updates with all features as they have come in, basically the game continues to grow after 10 years since its initial release. As far as VGM, they are a wonderful service, I’ve been thinking of rejoining but with totally different systems , I just don’t know at this moment.
I figured it was a good milestone to close out on. I have enjoyed my time with the service but I know I can get better value for the games I am looking for on the sets and I just wasn’t interested in adding other systems and all the shovelware that comes along with them. 🤷🏼♂️ I definitely would never tell anyone not to check them out though. When I was getting a standard 5 game box and was just bulking up the full sets it was a perfect way to do it. But the low value of the last year had been tough to swallow. If you start doing them again I will definitely be watching. Cheers David! 🍻
Personally i think you are doing the right thing, technically youve lost 11 bucks this month, i just think with a collection of your size you are now in that "cherry picking" zone, these blind bags are ok if, as weve said before you are just starting out or live in the a#se end of no where!
Yeah man. It’s definitely been a fun experience doing this and for awhile they really were a great source of games for the sets but I have definitely reached a point that I need specific games and it will be easier to just seek them out on my own and make sure every dollar is being used as it should be. I will miss sharing the unboxings with everyone though and I can’t say anything bad about the service. It’s been a good company to deal with over the past few years it’s just been hard to justify the value over the past 6 months or so. Plus I have a ton of retro stores local to me so that should make it more fun too. 🍻🤙🏻
The end of an era! I think you will be back when you start collecting for other systems. Right now your collecting is too limited. My son really likes Terraria. Clay Fighter is a pretty rough fighting game.
It’s always possible but the biggest reason I didn’t just change system selections was because I didn’t want all the shovelware from other systems. If I ever decided to do a full set of another cart system though this is the way to go for sure. A couple good last pulls from the service and you are correct on both of them. Terraria is fun and Clay Fighter isn’t. 🤣 Imagine how it will feel to spend all the dough on Sculptors Cut too…
Great unboxing! Congratulations on hitting and going beyond 1k! Not an easy feat. I hope all is well with you and yours sir.
Great pick ups in this video. Thanks for sharing!
Appreciate that Josh! Cheers buddy! 🍻
Truly the end of an era. Your VGM unboxings were one of the reasons I started making videos again. Great video, as always.
I appreciate that dude! It’s been fun with the service but it was time to move on and try to fill some of these holes in my collection on my own. Yea, I haven't been too happy with my boxes ever since I am not getting a full 5 games. I understand and good luck with finding awesome games :D
It’s a great company and the experience has been fun. It’s been best sharing the unboxings with everyone both with my own box and watching others too. it was a long run but i think this is the right decision - looking forward to what you can find in the wild with the extra $$!
I think so too. It was fun for the past few years I just feel like my collecting habits are slowly morphing into the next phase. Appreciate you Matt! 🤙🏻
Sad to see them go but happy you’re making and trying new things! Excited to check out what you have in the future!

End of an era. Nice final box. I thought about starting to collect ps4 greatest hits games that are sealed, just an idea. I enjoyed your videos bud

It’s the end of an era 😢
Sad to see this series come to an end but excited to see what you do in its stead!
Awesome review Josh!😊 I've been told they are good.
Never had a problem with VGM. They have been fun and are a good company. Just was time for a change up. Happy Thanksgiving Mark. 🦃🍻
Can't wait to see what you do next!
Thanks bro! Cheers! 🤙🏻🍻
Bahaha. Could you imagine if it was Sculptors Cut!?! 😂
@@DrinkGameswithJosh Happy Thanksgiving!
The best thing about VGM is that you get to play games you'll never play.
That is honestly the best reason to do any of these type of services. I have definitely discovered some cool games that I never would have tried. 🍻
Wow that makes 4 creators including me that are done with VGM kinds crazy all in a months time
Really? That is kinda wild. 🤷♂️ I loved getting the boxes but it just hasn’t been working out well for me over the past 6 months or so. Just kinda feel like I can use the same money and add specific games to my sets better this way.
The end of an era. I’ll drink to that!
On to the next thing! Cheers bro! 🍻
Box 50, woooo hooooo. That's a lot of boxes. Not a bad final box, looks a little on the light side though.
I can’t complain about my overall VGM experience. But that’s kinda been the problem over the past 6 months. Way too many light boxes. If I am taking a $10-12 net loss every month that’s the equivalent of a game or two I am not adding to either set…🤷🏼♂️
That whiskey sounds appealing to me… 🤤😅
It makes sense why you would stop using them - I assume it’s difficult finding games that collectors need as their list of needed games shrink.
Thanks for the advice dude. I have a buddy who actually likes the game a good bit so I will pick his brain. Merry Christmas my friend! 🎄🎅
@@DrinkGameswithJoshCheers and Merry Christmas!
Two decent games this month but don't blame you giving the service a rest. $11 down for the month is not what you want for sure
They've been good for the most part though
Take it easy dude👊
🤣 Imagine how it will feel to spend all the dough on Sculptors Cut too…
No man you got. To keep it going atleast until trump makes it back in January
If Trump kicks me back some extra funds and requests a return to the service I will sign right back up. Tell him to hit me up. 🤣
