  • Today we'll discuss older riders and fast ebikes. This discussion can also apply to non-seniors as well. We'll also talk about other matters of which are probably quite useless. But, we'll have fun for sure. Spoiler: Do what you want, stay within your capabilities.
    Enjoy and thanks for watching.

I'm 74 now, but in my younger days I've been known to ride a motorcycle well over 100 mph. Thank you God for watching over the young idiot I once was. All that to say, I think your comment about an e-bike filling in the missing element of a good motorcycle ride is right on. Can't wait for my Ecells 5 Star to arrive. There are plenty of riding trails up here in the Pacific Northwest, and I'll be blazing along on many of them. Great ride; great video. Thanks for posting. Glad your tunnels are free of monsters. Pretty cool! More power to you (no pun intended). Looks like fun. Back in the day we used to try to build and ride go carts in the backyard and then they outlawed riding them in most places so we gave up that hobby. Nowadays, I ride what they call a hybrid or fitness bike around a small leafy city and enjoy the pedaling and cardio. Went 17 mph down a hill once but mostly ride around 12 mph or less and that suits me just fine. I’m not into going fast. I enjoy doing my thinking while taking in the sights and sounds in the gorgeous surroundings. Wouldn’t mind trying a fast e-bike just for fun now and then. On a sour note a heavyset senior riding a big and fast e-bike bullied his way through a group of cyclists and pedestrians on a trail in a park the other day-what a hotdog. Such riders give e-bikes a bad reputation. Seemed like he didn’t give a hoot about anyone but himself. In this video at least you weren’t doing anything like that. Still if you ride an e-bike and are respectful others I’m a fan!

if you can talk normally, you aren't working hard enough. Yes of course seniors should slow down. Reaction times go way up. Hospital bills are way up. Healing time goes way up. Chances of accidents go way up.
In the old days (pre E) the ONLY bike riders going fast on level ground were the BEST riders and they got there with many many hours of saddle time at slowly increasing speeds.
Seniors might have experience (I'm 65 in 2 weeks) but if you dont' have 30 years of riding you shouldn't be going fast. And that can be 15mph in some places.

Should seniors ride ebikes : Should seniors ride bikes of any kind at high speeds.
When your older things break easily , aand you are more infirm than 30 year olders .
Moderation in all things is beneficial . Desperate times may call for desperate actions though like dangerous situations etc.
The other option , is tour Bike Motorcycling , and to do that you'll be in a more comprehensive situation with traffic , moving vehicles , traffic laws and restrictions , and accident liabilities .
I think i would like to tour bike on an ebike ....with spare parts and backup like : ecflow 1000 charger for fast reboots , and extra tires etc.

As another high speed senior I would say it depends, some people yes, some no. First of all you have to be true to yourself. Are you proficient with driving things fast. If you are generally on the Strugglebus when it comes to operating mechanical things and sensing speed limitations, such as cornering, maybe a fast e-bike is not the best decision. I see you driving your cars sometimes struggling just to make a lane change at 10 under the speed limit. lol. I see videos of people riding a motorcycle for the first time. They throttle up and immediately get panic locked and drive it into the shed or something. Meanwhile, somebody else can figure it all out right away. Driving a bike into a wall at 35MPH is gonna hurt or worse. As Clint Eastwood said, "Man's gotta know his limitations". LoL. Paragraph rant over now. 😁

    Hi Ruger 👋
    I want Power and Range.
How far are you getting at an average 20MPH ?

Hey there! I go about 35-40 miles before range anxiety completely sets in. Probably could go more but, by that time I'm tired of riding. 👍👍 RUGER

@@RugersLastResort thanks Ruger ! Also wondering how far the New Dual Battery 20AH + 15AH setup will go ?
Based on your numbers a 60 mile range sounds legit 😎👍
