I feel like if Jubei wasn't DLC his playcount would be way higher
And if he didn't drop right when they announced BBTAG and CF was on it's last legs.
Jubei's movement actually not just his speed. He can use his back dash and dashes to change his jump arcs. The momentum from his special back dash (446) allows him to jump and store that momentum throughout his jump. Try super jumping after his 446 back dash to see how much space he can cover with his air options.
Right now for NA the main Jubei players are Elyon, Myself, and Mitsuyoshi, but it's interesting seeing people who joined for rollback picking up the character!
Would love to help you with any info you need. I put out a guide, but even I know it's too long a guide for easy consumption. I'm planning out a 15-30 minute shortened quick-start guide right now.

I had no idea Jubei was rare. I've seen him way more online than other characters like Amane or Celica. I figured he was played more specifically because he was a DLC character.
I've seen a couple. I mostly play offline, so I see platinum and Rachel the most. Rachel is awful for my poor kagura.
@@viridianknight I've seen two Rachel's the entire time I've been playing. Platinum's other than me also seem to be rare, but not as rare as Rachel.

Personally, Valk is the rarest character for me. Only ever fought a Valk once in ranked.
Can't wait to see you go Jubei's trials ! I think they're easier than the ones you did previously. As a random beginner, Jubei is a super cool character.

Jubei is so much fun to play. His defense is kind of weak, but his combos are really simple and he has a ton of movement options that feel great to use. And of course, his theme rocks.
The curse of "the last character" even though juubei has a pretty good Oki, nice drive, install and that wretched pass through dash.
Edit: well, he's Ragna's master so he's gotta have Jesus kick.
So @5:40 he saw Lichi press a button while she had the marker. If a player has that marker, the super is instantaneous and is teleported behind the marked player. Kinda like Azrael's unblockable super that freezes you in place
Been loving these commentated matches lately, man. I know it can take a lot of effort to go and produce these, but they're much appreciated. They're really making me consider picking up BBCF now that it's got rollback..

Favorite BB character personally. Everything about his kit speaks to me, parry normals, free crossup on dashing, super cool install, useful supers, movement.... I understand why 9 is a cat lady.
I wish those parries were specials. Like 22A, B, C, etc. they’re so gimmicky
I wonder why BB isn't that popular in the FGC, is it just because CF is kind of old relative to other anime fighters? Or is it just something about BlazBlue?
BB's been around for a while. It's a great game but the reason some people picked it up initially was because guilty gear didnt have online in those days. Once GG got online some of the player base fizzled. And then of course life; alot of the guys got older and moved onto other ventures.

the timing/gap between AC and +R/Xrd and player crossover between gg and bb.

I’m currently learning Jubei right now. Coming from Strive Chipp, he feels most natural.
its funny because answer in xrd rev 2 relates a lot to jubei since it was very rare to see answer and their gameplay is pretty similar. not to mention the fact they were also the last dlc character of their separate games (i think? well answer and baiken released at the same time so yeah)
the cross sword unblockable 632146C also has a just frame that allows for a combo
Always be weary of high level Jubei players. That mobility is raw, the install is scary and he has really decent mix. Never fully understood why anyone downplayed him.
Matchups matchups. Many of the mid and low tiers have bad MU's which really hinder their viability. Jubei struggles against characters with high priority normals like Azrael,Hakumen,Susanoo etc and zoners can make it hard to find a spot
I never understood why people don't play him, and as a Jubei main myself, I have no idea why people think he's hard, lol.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's also because he has no real way of getting out of... getting beaten up.
The only two ways he really has are his Overdrivr Burst and his Exceed Accel, and those cost... the Overdrive Icon.
I think it’s because people see install and think he’s a two stance char.
Vanilla jubei can hold his own and is sometimes better depending on the mu. His vanilla drive can side swap, whiff punish, and beat anti airs if timed properly
It's no Six Heroes or Keep The Flag Flying, but Jubeis theme is right up there with Susano'o / Must Die.

Litchi has been stupid from day 1 Calamity Trigger. If I had known they would just let Litchi rock for the whole series I would have just switched to the boobie lady. The way you fix this character is by making the staff easier to drop when hit and harder to recall in disadvantage but they never really did it. I feel like current Litchi is still a Calamity Trigger character, whereas all the other CT characters lost significant parts of their nasty early stuff.

Litchi staff timings are very strict to the point where mistiming can vary anywhere from perfectly landing the combo to them breaking out during your 6C. I'm sure being on stage didn't help Uri.

Bang isn't common but I wouldn't say he's rare. There is a JP Bang player named Hukku who still streams BBCF and 90% he's playing Bang. He also won ArcRevo 2020.

That was a good match. Elyon dropped a lot of combos which isn't normal for him. He could've won if it wasn't for that.
The combo drop at 14:50 hurt the most because that was the actual win :(. Of off the corner wall bounce he did 5B > 2C > OD > j.D8A > j.D8A > j.D8D > j.236236D, then Elyon moves into grand finals because Uri didn't burst the 2C that Elyon did do, so he would have been locked in for the loss without bursting.
I think he was looking to hard bait burst off that 5B > 2C Jump cancel instead :(

There's about 30 or so Jubei's on online ranked constantly that have, a blockstring, a mixup, a combo, and no concept of neutral
I play Jubei because of the character hinself. Luckly his mobility is super good. What I usually like the most in fighting games. He is super fun and stylish. If he is actually good I really don't know. Or even care. Hope you try him. And made a guide. would be great.

To my knowledge last time I saw jubei on a tier list he was either top 6 or 7, don't know if he's still considered a top tier but I personally feel after seeing some of the stuff jubei players have done, I'd say he deserves to be called a top tier, also jubei with full overdrive timer is one of the scariest things I've seen in this game

I think Tao is the rarest character pretty free. Mostly because she sucks and Jubei and Hibiki are right there lol
His problem is that he's marketed towards furries while simultaneously being DLC and on top of that in a game with a community where 95% of the players play girls, Edgelords or Kagura.

Elyon plays multiple characters often and played Hibiki before Jubei's release. He will use him for specific difficult matchups. He also has a tournament capable Tsubaki. Elyon needs more credit as a multiple mid-tier character master of BBCF.
