I used black RTV sealant from Auto Zone. First I cleaned where I wanted the sealant with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Using the smallest amount of RTV, get it into the area between the band and the unit with a toothpick. You will only need an amount the size of a pea. Both the band and the RTV are silicone based material and seem to bond well. Allow to dry for 24 hours. Good luck.
I am on my second Fitbit...now a Charge 4. I love everything about the Fitbit., but as many reviews show...the design for the wrist strap attachment is garbage. I have had my Fitbit for exactly 1.5 yrs and now the strap broke off. It is unrepairable with a new wrist strap because a piece of the Fitbit attachment broke off. For over three years, the design of the wristband attachment has been an issue with the company just 'turning their back' on their customers. I really wish there was a class action suit against this company. Not for the money aspect, but to show them they cannot 'rob' their customers.
Just a note for all that are fixing their fitbits. if you have had it less than a year, they will replace it. they didn't even ask me for a receipt, they looked at my fitbit account and saw when I activated it. I did it all through email. it's been about a week and my fitbit charge hr is on its way. they didn't even want the old one back so I'll glue it and use it until it fails before switching. also, epoxy is good, loctite also has a glue for rubber, plastics, and vinyl. I think it would be a little better because it has a little flexibility to it. the epoxy will be hard so the band won't have any stretch at that point so it might crack. I'm not putting the video down, I think it's a great video. whatever you do, do not use superglue! it will turn the rubber brittle. thank you for the video!
go to their website and follow the directions. they use your email address that you signed up with when you started the APP and go by that date for the year warranty. I got one replacement from them, then the replacement broke but it was past the original one year warranty, so they gave me a discount on the next purchase. They will replace it no questions asked the first time. Hope you get your replacement.
I just emailed their support and told them what happened. They emailed me back with a few questions. Got my new fitbit on Aug 15. Super easy. Didn't even want old one back.
I'm so glad that I read your comment. I've been able to chat with the online fitbit support and they are now shipping me an alta instead of the charge because they were running out of inventory. I assume the inventory is just for the one purchased and not for the replacement. Doesn't matter, that makes me like the company so much more that they would take care of their customers like that.
Do you think I could use E6000? This should be a class action lawsuit. They have known about this issue for years, and do very little about it. When my first one did this within a few months, they completely replaced it as it was under warranty. Now the replacement one is doing the exact same thing, and the best they can do is offer me a 25% discount on a purchase - within the next 30 days! The Charge and the Charge HR both do this. I don't think the more expensive ones have this problem since they use a regular watchband style. But I haven't looked into those.
While there are these little things on Amazon that fit around the band and face to hold it together, and they DO work, my best solution was to get a Gear Fit!
I bought one about 6 months ago. It was a little hard to get it on, but once it was on, it stayed on and the band didn't break. I was very pleased with it, and think it's a great way to extend the life of the Fitbit, especially once you've gotten a replacement one from them, they only replace it once! There are a LOT of different colors and designs, and it cost under $15, maybe even under $10. My Fitbit stopped synching with my phone, so I got the Gear Fit, which does the same as the Fitbit Charge HR, same price too. So far, so good...
Their products are absolute shit. Look around the internet about how many people have this problem. It looks like more do then don't. Buy a different brand. 1 year warranty is crap. This is an item that is for fitness, obv it is going to take at least moderate daily wear and tear. Junk.
Am I able to superglue the part that charges, I have a VeryFitPro which is similar and I have had it for 4 years and it had problems charging then a little bit snapped of the top 🥺😖
Is the repair still lasting? - I used loctite super glue (not the epoxy) and the repair lasted around 2 months before it started falling apart again :( - will try with epoxy.
Personally, I'd just say to hell with the epoxy method, and just buy a aftermarket metal strap replacement kit, not only do they use standard watch straps but the metal isn't as flimsy as the shitty silicone, rubber and plastic crap that the Boys in San Francisco use

How do I begin this process online? I'm super glad to read they don't ask for a receipt because mine was a Christmas gift and I don't have my receipt.

You should showed it the next day and put it on and see how holds. And how did hold out after a few months?

Agreed -- they really should have tested and fixed this problem before beginning to sell these.
the new ones to it too!! Fitbit Charge 2 has lifts SO ANNOYING we need a better answer than try again with 25% discount!!

Mine broke when I was sleeping last night... anyways, thanks for the help!

Does this hold for more than a week, especially with the fitbit which takes on a lot stress.
5 years later.. i've had my fitbit charge 4 for a little more than a year and yeah.. the strap broke. What a pile of trash it is.

@BillyRogrer Show the results of this fix! It doesn't actually work. Epoxy does not bind to the band.
I did it with crazy glue. It works but may need touching up now and then, and you have to take it off and on carefully.
Dont do this if you haven't contacted fitbit support, most of the time they send a replacement within 2 working days
thanks 4 sharing unfortunly i bought that tihng and it seperated in two months
screen cracked after month, and i was given a 25% off coupon to buy a new one. thanks for that, fitbit...

My hopes and dreams for a fixed fitbit
I got a problem I cracked on my fitbit alta screen .tell me what I do
You glued wristband to tracker. What you gonna do when this silicon band will tear off? Buy a new Tracker?
This video shows how to repair broken Fitbit Force/Charge.
shouldnt have to fix it :{
You can buy them on eBay now
If I knew Fitbit quality, I wouldn't buy this flop product from irresponsible cheating company
What the hell...did you let your grandson choose the music and sound levels?? terrible.

thanks for the tip
