I have never played StarCraft against a human opponent, but I have been watching it on and off for years now. I dunno, i find it relaxing. A bit of variety, a lot of repetition. There is just something about it. And Lowko is also a very likeable caster. Not sure about irl tho 🙃
It's like chess; we all know how to play, and appreciate the best players in the world battling it out, and very importantly - appreciate excellent commentary that understands the game at a very high level
I think what made me keep watching SC2 games is the high quality videos by Lowko. Crisp picture, loud audio (in a good way), great commentary. If you cast other games, perhaps they could have a good viewership as well.
I've been watching you for years! Been playing since the orginal starcraft 1998. One of my favorite games!! Got the beta version of wings of liberty!!!
I started watching SC2 in like 2015, based on watching TB play on the ladder. I had no idea how the game worked, but I loved watching his Saturday streams with Geoff. I never even tried to play the game until it went free to play, and even after that, I've only ever played a handful of games against actual opponents. I still love to watch it tho.
SC2 is one of those games that I actually do love playing. But only after putting in a good amount of hours to be somewhat ''decent'' at it again. Which can just be a lot to ask sometimes.
1:00 Hyperhidrosis, horrid to deal with. Has multiple different severities. Constant sweating in certain areas of the body. Palms are annoying and I also do the towel thing.
It would also be funny if the title says "THIS is how Protoss should have been played all along" and then the Protoss gets completely stomped 2-0 by a terran stim timing.
21:51 me: well, it's like watching football. Few people that roots for a team had actually kicked a ball... 25:25 lowko daying the exact same thing kekw
17:42 when you think about it. All matches are determined by whoever throws the most. Simple advice is to just play perfectly to avoid throwing the match.
Honestly I enjoy Protoss more than any of the other factions when played really because it just seamlessly moves better imo so nice micro matches are just pleasant to watch
I feel like phoenix openers become a lot more viable in the new patch, especially with the ability to energy overcharge your first couple phoenix to get a lot more lifts in the early game.
Is it weird that MaxPax reminds me of a version of OpenAI agent training they did back in 2014-2016? Its almost the same god tier level micro specifically with those stalkers lmao.
I actually used to play quite a bit of SC2, at least the single player and coop. Decided to try pvp, played a couple of 1v1s, had some fun. Then I tried out 2v2. My first match, all three other players canon rushed. Teammate started trash talking me because I didn't support his attack, despite him not saying a word, and because I was unranked. Didn't play much pvp after that. That experience really just turned me off to it.
No one can deny that StarCraft II is one of the best RTS there is. And RTS is the king of strategy. I still watch some high level league of legends, but there is a hard limit to what can be done at peak skill level. In StarCraft you have no peak skill level, you could theoretically control up to 200 units individually and that's indeed just the micro potential, that no human player can reach. When you add the macro you're really looking at a (close to) infinite set of games without a hard skill ceiling. Sure a lot of the games will be similar thanks to optimization and evolution but there is always the potential to play better, to get that extra 1% over your opponents. The only way to hurt this game is if they start balancing it against the top players and the top 20 just kind of averages out, but despite a lot of debates and strong reactions to new balance patches it is not yet happening at a scale that would matter. Looking at the absolute beasts like Serral is the proof of this. Just the potential for the gap to be so large between top three and the other top 10 and between top 10 and the rest of the world shows how much individual skill matters in this game. I've never played StarCraft and minimum RTS when I got my first PC, but I'll continue to watch it.
I feel like I never see build order losses from terran. It's always protoss that doesn't scout a cheese and loses. People always say toss is cheesy but terran proxies are so much more impactful than and little cheese toss does
upon learning that many people like to watch this game but are too daunted to play it against humans, blizzard should have addressed this somehow when they still worked on the game. i think that’s what made this game to be slowly dying
as someone who is in that category and watching since wol, i dont think they did anything wrong. a live service game lasting this long is incredible, especially an RTS. game isn't dead until the pro scene dies, and it's normal for new generations of gamers to play newer games. I played a lot of dota2 and i notice people say the same thing for a lot of these games, it's just that the games are old and so are we.
Very true, fun to watch for years, but when try to play its overwhelming and not so fun. If we could have just part of Uthermal happiness while playing.
Energy Recharge would completely change the first few minutes of game 2. I stopped playing Toss because I was so tired of having 2 options that don't involve playing blind. Early hallucinated phoenix is an absolute gamechanger! I may go back to random after this patch, every single race is pretty fun imo, and that's coming from a beta player. I get that this is the biggest early game shakeup since the mothership core went away, but this is 100% absolutely a buff. Players will adjust.
Sometimes when I watch this game I think to myself. I could do that, I should try playing SC2 again, then I try playing again and realize that I in fact cannot play this game with my 30 minutes to an hour of spare time i get a day. 😂😂
I can beat brutal coop all day, put a plus on thatbrutal and i start complaining and raging. I dont have the mental capacity to try real starcraft. But i can certainly appreciate theskill of sc2 pros.
MaxPax makes even Clem look like an average pro in the last few months, no Korean Terran has any chance against him at this point. The best they can do is pray to any God they believe in to have him make mistakes in order to be able to take a single map from him. And he also makes every other Protoss look underwhelming at best (like the one from the second series). There is no debate about the best Protoss player on the planet.
i watch starcracraft for 2 years ,but i`m to old to leand how to play and i was never good in this kind of game, but i play on my years Red Alert 2 and is very similar but starcraft is a lot harder then RA2
I dont want luck or my opponent to have luck. I definitely dont care if they play for fun or not. I most certainly will not tell someone what to do from a chat box at the start of a competitive game. Yall have no dam manners.

i'm in the same boat with you bro. Can only add one single thing, MaxPax is the best :D
Lowko is not real human. He is a starcraft - commentating AI. It's common knowledge
It's known @@Abrakadabra-e9k
@@Abrakadabra-e9k Lowko is an announcer AI in available in the SC2 store.
Lol same. I played the campaigns but I just like watching the matches.
Starcraft is the pinnacle of competitive gaming, even after all these years. I love watching the pros and play myself from time to time.
6:43 "Mom, can we do stalker aggression?"
"We have stalker aggression at home."
MaxPax blinks those stalkers back like he's freaking AlphaStar. The guy's just completely nuts.
Maybe he IS alpha star? A rouge researcher who took the data and ran. Could explain some things.
It's like chess; we all know how to play, and appreciate the best players in the world battling it out, and very importantly - appreciate excellent commentary that understands the game at a very high level

I love watching all of the pros, but I just get so excited when you announce MaxPax as the Protoss opponent
did i just see gumiho forget to load any unit into that medivac at 21:24 and then quicky boosted back home once it arrive 😂
23:00 Jimmy and the gang: No siege tank! Get back! Or we will force you....
I've been watching you for years! Been playing since the orginal starcraft 1998. One of my favorite games!! Got the beta version of wings of liberty!!!
I don't understand how terrans need towels when they have mules.
you cant travel through space without a Towel!
Thanks for the video, Lowko. Stalker micro is some legendary stuff to watch. ❤

23:01 marines discipling the tank

@5:15 Bob putting in overtime, damn.
1:00 Hyperhidrosis, horrid to deal with. Has multiple different severities. Constant sweating in certain areas of the body. Palms are annoying and I also do the towel thing.
22:36 - Sometimes it's exactly like that! 😂
I very much like that you added another series to not spoil how long the 1st series lasted.
It would also be funny if the title says "THIS is how Protoss should have been played all along" and then the Protoss gets completely stomped 2-0 by a terran stim timing.
"which i've been told is a long time, but maybe she lied" such an awesome subtle joke lol
21:51 me: well, it's like watching football. Few people that roots for a team had actually kicked a ball...
25:25 lowko daying the exact same thing kekw
That 3rd game for maxpax was textbook. Keeping that terran bioball count low and getting a 3rd/4th. Gg wp
No way, I used to use a towel for the mouse hand and moved onto having a mini fan. Its pretty cool to hear kr pros have come to the same solution.
17:42 when you think about it. All matches are determined by whoever throws the most. Simple advice is to just play perfectly to avoid throwing the match.
Bo1, "professional commentator!" 😂 love our lowko
Yes, I knew it would be MaxPax! Thanks, Lowko!
I haven’t played StarCraft since it came out in the 90’s. But I do enjoy watching pro level StarCraft.
Havent played in at least 10 years. Watch almost every one of your videos. Really a fantastic break from rl lol
I haven't played a match in like 8years, but i've watched plenty of lowko's videos.
maxpax and byuN are players who hardly make any mistakes. they read you before you know what you want to build :D
"It's easy bro, just play like MaxPax."
I reaaaally want to see what GuMiho does with the new patch.
7:02 Medivac producing Starport
Honestly I enjoy Protoss more than any of the other factions when played really because it just seamlessly moves better imo so nice micro matches are just pleasant to watch
8:37 The correct term is "gouda"
great games! great series!
Oooh weeeee a sneaky byun v hero series thrown in there I like eeeet
My hands have the opposite effect during intense gaming sessions. They get super cold… hand warmers are my best friends 😆
I feel like phoenix openers become a lot more viable in the new patch, especially with the ability to energy overcharge your first couple phoenix to get a lot more lifts in the early game.
Never realized Serral DOES sound like a text-to-speech bot til Lowko pointed it out LOL
only played like 10 total games of starcraft but i still watch it
Is it weird that MaxPax reminds me of a version of OpenAI agent training they did back in 2014-2016? Its almost the same god tier level micro specifically with those stalkers lmao.
And together we will rule the world
i play starcraft 2 arcade all the time, can't handle latter tho. Still love watching it
Man I click on this vídeo ready to be baited... I was waiting for goblin... but I was actually Max, wow.
I am so wanting a Starcraft Movie from Blizzard

I love watching this game, but playing it, oh boy do I get tilted at how bad I am at it🤣
starcraft is like chess on steroids

Haven't played a 1v1 in a year. I've watched you for 8 years though.
My cat is named gizmo but I call him gomeho
And I will call him ROY
Let's make the anti air unit before the opponent has air, pro play
Ohh yeah - I stopped everything as soon as I see MaxPax = Like
After 3 mins, my brain shuts down playing starcraft.
upon learning that many people like to watch this game but are too daunted to play it against humans, blizzard should have addressed this somehow when they still worked on the game. i think that’s what made this game to be slowly dying

i dont play sc2 laddergames, i never really did and i probably never will. i mostly play sc2 arcade maps.
Hero could've easily won if he went for Void Rays on that first game at 32:00 ...
Sometimes when I watch this game I think to myself. I could do that, I should try playing SC2 again, then I try playing again and realize that I in fact cannot play this game with my 30 minutes to an hour of spare time i get a day. 😂😂
Maxpax is human, Good to Know 😂😂😂
Why aren't robo starts a thing anymore? I feel like I never see them.
If your sweating your losing 😅😅
Checking in a someone who watches sc2 but hasn't played since before HotS.
MaxPax wrong move on game 2: Making a stargate and that's all ...
I can beat brutal coop all day, put a plus on thatbrutal and i start complaining and raging. I dont have the mental capacity to try real starcraft. But i can certainly appreciate theskill of sc2 pros.
double feature
What did you mean when pro players press 18283848 in the lobby? I'm assuming it's practicing their control units, but why 8?
I'm confused, Why didn't gumiho send his marines down at the start when his workers were getting shreked by a single zealot and
I think I watch this because it's like new age Chess.
I hate playing it though cause I suck and get frustrated

Watching SC2 is like watching football, i rather watch it than play it :D
Edit: but i play Coop every day for the last 5 years
Hit thumbs up when I realized it was a double.
Probius sus
👍 for zachary
I would call playing SC2 stressful vs boring. I still play team PVP, 1v1 is just not good for my blood pressure and I’m getting older and have kids 😅
petition to remove orbital command from the game
i watch starcracraft for 2 years ,but i`m to old to leand how to play and i was never good in this kind of game, but i play on my years Red Alert 2 and is very similar but starcraft is a lot harder then RA2
I want to be able to brag about my spreadsheet size...
MaxPax has come so far...very far from the mass Voidray build
I dont want luck or my opponent to have luck. I definitely dont care if they play for fun or not. I most certainly will not tell someone what to do from a chat box at the start of a competitive game. Yall have no dam manners.
Gumi and Maxi? I can't root against either, this is like going through your parents' divorce.
I play custom games.
I would like to know how many American football fans play football in the last year
I am so curious how harder will MaxPax dominate Terran after the Ghost nerf 😀
