@@filthyuncleben2645 To the best of my knowledge Carra has only played Messi once - in the UCL in 2007 where he was subdued by Arbeloa. Whilst Messi is the greatest of his generation, if you judge this on the basis of how they played against Carra's teams I'm comfortable with making that substitution. Nobody has torn Liverpool up like Kaka did.

Am sure Souness will remember that Brazil side of 1982, his Scotland were hammered 4-1 including a brilliant free kick by ZICO Absolutely brilliant side ( apart from the keeper who was rubbish). They played mesmerizing football. perhaps the greatest side ever or just behind the great Brazilian side of 1970.

@@PmK96 , I respect your opinion. But in his chosen formation (4 3 3), Xavi and iniesta are better in my opinion. Cos, Kaka mainly played behind the striker; running behind the defenders at will.
But the aforementioned duo, controlled and dominated possession for their teams in the midfield.
Hence, passing the opposition to death, while providing the killer passes for their strikers to finish.
However, am talking as a Barcelona and presently Manchester City's fan(due to Pep). Hence, I think and see football through their lens. Cheers

@@54356776 nah there's more complexity to it than that. The emojis can perhaps be regarded as somewhat immature but even in this day and age they are used by all walks of life and all ages.
But what I mean is, if anyone thinks Pogba is affected by this guy, they're sadly mistaken. Souness is in the grander scheme of things, a football nobody. He won medals but will never be regarded as one of the greats. Never has been either. Pogba has every reason not to know who he is. He played in a different era and now earns a living as a very bad football pundit. Pogba is a young man, loving life, is extremely popular I imagine and will definitely laugh off the likes of this retired, old, negative-minded moaner; and with him wearing his airpods like an utter melt at the same time, Pogba is definitely seeing the funny side of that.

That 1982 Brazil side were incredible. My favourite old team to watch back. Playing crazy football with so much flair honestly.
Imagine if a team can get hold of Messi and Ronaldo when they are coming to the end of their careers. Say when they hit around the 39/40 years old mark. That would be worth the investment for the MLS. People would probably genuinely start to watch the MLS to watch them together on the same team.
The mls has tried improving its appeal for decades by bringing in players way past their prime.
The should try to bring in young exciting players who can grow within that league and leave a proper mark on it.
America has so much to offer -there would be tonnes of young players who would be won over by the idea of living in america beyond football reasons.
@@turbo8628 I do agree, they should try to move to that kind of model long term and hope the good players turn down European teams in favour of a US lifestyle. The problem is you need Europe + the World to start watching the MLS to grow the wages. Unless the US suddenly starts watching football (soccer) instead of the other sports. But that is sloww progress, Messi + Ronaldo on the same team would be a genuine kick start which would for sure get a lot of Europe and the World watching. The problem with the previous acquisitions the MLS made like Beckham, Gerrard, Rooney, etc is that Europe and the world is smart about football. They know Beckham, Henry etc were over the hill when they went to the MLS so they didn't really care about the games. But Messi and Ronaldo is a very different story.

John Cronin Thought we were talking about strikers, Berkamp was mainly deployed as a centre attacking midfielder or a second striker because of his ability to hold the ball up and passing.

Nah because Souness is a Legend of the game, who captained the most dominant team in Europe during the 80s, and played during an era full of legendary icons. Only kids born after the year 2000 wouldn’t want to hear any input from someone with that much experience.

Rob Jones was a far better full back than Gary Neville in fact the latter would never have been an England regular if it wasn't for Jones retiring early through injury.

Carragher's team is amazing. Only thing I'd change is Vieira for Keane. And no, I'm not an Arsenal fan. It's because Vieira can also play and is more skillful.
United fan, but I do somewhat agree with you. Vierra was technically a better player, but Keane more than made up for it with his leadership qualities. The man would die on the pitch if he had to.
