Looking at world history from Central Eurasia

Have you ever heard the term 'Central Eurasia'? The Eurasian continent was the main stage of world history before the modern era, and the people of its inland regions, or Central Eurasia, were the ones who connected the different regions and moved world history beyond the confines of the regions. In this talk, we would like to shed light on the region of Central Eurasia, focusing on the nomadic peoples who were the main actors in this process, and rethink world history from this perspective.

ウズベキスタンでみたペルシア人の顔をした仏像をみて宗教の流れと人の流れを想像してワクワクしたのを思い出しました。海運が発達する前のシルクロードが歴史を作ってきたと大きく認識できました。いまの中央アジアは旧ソ連によって人種がぐちゃぐちゃになりましたが、今でも大きくは遊牧民族性と農耕民族性とは大きく仕事のやり方が違っていて楽しいです。歴史って現在にもつながりますが楽しいですね。

自分も中央ユーラシアのことは周辺部・通過点としてしか認識していませんでした。
中央ユーラシアの人々がもっと文字資料を残してくれていれば、もっと多くのことがわかったんでしょうね。
