    Using Liqui-Moly Diesel Engine Intake Decarb allows you to restore maximum airflow and clean moving parts from contaminations without the need to dismantle. The fast acting, pro-strength formula is designed to remove built-up carbon deposits and oil residue from the intake system to help restore engine power and performance. The formula is suitable for carburetor and fuel injected systems, which is safe for all turbocharged and supercharged engines including vehicles with catalytic converters.

    Yes, some gunk does get into the engine oil particularly in older motors. I noticed this by checking the dip stick and the oil was darker. So now I only do intake clean just before engine oil and filter change, which also includes oil flush. I found it's worth including an intake clean as part of oil and filter change, but remember to do intake clean first.

    Hi,
    I tried it and works, but be very very careful; it can harm your engine by knocking and DPF will be full during cleaning. Don't hurry and keep the 2500RPM during the operation (too low RPM cause some of the liquid remains in the system) and do a highway round after the process (because of DPF full plus some of the liquid remains in the intake system). Important the careful acceleration with low RPM-s at the beginning of highway round because some part of the liquid remains in intake system (I know I wrote it many times but it is important) and can do self acceleration from RPM 2000 to RPM 5000(!) in half seconds and will cause knocking (sounds like a big hammer knocks your block) can destroy your engine.
    Overall result is fine, engine less lazy than before, but use this liquid very carefully!

    "It also removes many other contaminates & you might need to repeat the process".
    Hmmm, I have heard all this before & I believe that the only thing that this stuff is guaranteed to remove 100%,, is quite a bit of thickness from your wallet.
    In my opinion it is just more "Snake Oil" because no matter what they say, there is no product in a spray can that can do it properly without removing your intake manifold & DPR.

    I did this and it took my diesel mechanic a lot to clean up. The carbon goes hard because of a chemical reaction. Also forces all the carbon down into the intake manifold and valves. Not a good idea and pulling the EGR system to pieces is the only way to clean up the carbon. Don't be a fool like I was because it cost me $2,000 more to fix. There are no short cuts in a can with this repair.

    Bla Bla Bla, I've heard it all before.
    It might be OK on a new vehicle but you would have to use 20 tins on an MN Triton with 100,000K's on the clock. Even then I guarantee it will not clean out all of the soot & Gunk that's caked on hard in those Triton manifolds. You could only get it all out of a Triton by removing the intake manifold and cleaning it manually with heavy duty chemicals and scrapers etc.. There is no known other way of doing it, no matter what the snake oil sellers say about their magic products.
    Plus, even if this stuff did clean it all out,, where would all that thick caked on gunk go?
    Some of it would burn up but most of it would end up in your valves & clog your hydraulic lifters & some would end up in your piston ring grooves too. Bugger that, I can only see damage from using this stuff on a high millage diesel with EGR fitted
    Anyway, I bet your 4x4 would be blowing thick smoke for days after using it..

    • @chapster6273
      @chapster6273 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes I found some gunk does get past the piston rings and into the engine oil, checking the dip stick I could see the oil was darker than before. So I do intake clean just before an oil and filter change. Damage occurs if you continue to dive the car with dirty oil.
      I found it is worth including this intake clean as standard procedure for oil and filter change. Also do an engine oil flush before oil change.

    • @grahamepigney8565

      Yes.

    • @berczigabor
      @berczigabor 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, because it leave the spray hose in a form of a very fine mist that travels with and in the intake air. Some of it might of course land on the walls of the elements of the charge air path (like the intercooler), but even from there it will be continuously dragged towards the intake ports with the charge air. That said it makes no sense to spray this in before the turbo, because the cold side of the turbo doesn't need cleaning, and you can't access the hot side. I'd rather spray it as close to the actual EGR valve and intake manifold as posssible.

      @@steverx4460 The turbo is always after the MAF sensor in the intake system. That said you could only possibly clean the cold half of the turbo with this fluid, but it's actually the hot half that's driven by the exhaust gases and thus might develop carbon deposits which need cleaning. But you obviously can't reach them directly (because of the combustion chambers being in between), even though some cleaning effect might still occur.
