    Excellent video on cleaning and refinishing the griddle but please clean your burner tubes as your flame is very bad.

    Thanks, great video, just picked up my cleaning kit today and it worked out great, I restored and very rusted griddle someone gave to me they were throwing out, now it looks brand new, I had some grapeseed oil on hand, and it worked great, a guy that worked on grills on his whole life told me to throw in some Lime juice as an extra step in the cleaning process and that worked well aslo.

      The lime juice is like a acid you could also use Vinegar

    Thank you sir. I looked at a lot of solutions for my slightly rusted camp chef and this seemed the most likely to work…and it did. It shines, its clean and Im back on the griddle!

    Cool restoration Jared! I had to do a bit of work on mine, nothing like that but it did rust a bit. That’s a nice kit, bought some glass bricks before they had that, worked great. Got yours back to new, nice job! Have a great week brother!

    Great video! My black stone is not that bad but I can see the seasoning is starting to come off. I’ve been stressing on to how to reseason it. But a lot of other videos were using grinders.

      @@PAPATexas Really? My grill was pretty bad too!! It took me me around 15 minutes. Then I heated it up put on the oil a few times and was ready to make dinner, fried rice, shrimp, and steak. I was watching these videos to get an idea on which way would be the easiest.

      Even if you don’t cook on it every week just heat it up and put some oil on there it will last you a lot longer that way

    Use a wire wheel on a drill instead of the stone .. boom done in about 15-20 min. Then season .. 😎

    very informative. rust is a problem with these blackstones and i am thinking twice about getting one. there is a channel that was cooking blackened cod and about 1/3 of the cooking surface was rusted and he was cooking in the rust and just denying it. is this caused by neglect of oiling after using or do they all do this eventually?

    Great video. I have several small areas of rust on my Camp Chef. Followed your instructions. Not all of the old coating came off, the rust spots did. I seasoned as instructed but the surface is not completely smooth where the old coating and the new seasoning is. Do you think it will fill in and smooth out with additional coats or did the whole griddle top needed to be taken to bare metal? Thanks

    I dropped a microfiber rag on the blackstone and it got stuck to the griddle how can I remove the burnt plastic it left behind.

      You will have to re-season the griddle and start fresh would be your best bet

      I used a steel wire wheel. wiped it down, heated it up, wiped a few coats of vegetable oil, until the paper towel absorbed all the rust residue. Then i was ready to cook. I also bought a water resistant cover for my stove. I also purchased the 2 burner Artisan pizza oven. the kids love making and eating their creations 👍

      Well if you don’t use it much heat it up put some oil on it once a week and you will be good

      You can definitely use whatever you want. I prefer Flaxseed since it has a high smoke point.

    =I cooked on my Blackstone twice and oiled it down. Now it's all rusted. I oiled it downed after each cook. But now it's rusted. Are you telling me this is normal? I have to do all of this every couple of cooks?

      Do you have it covered or is it left out in the open? That can determine a lot. Also if you live in a place that’s humid that can cause rust too.

    The only thing I did not do was use water, I watched a Video made by Blackstone and they said it's not a good time to use any water at all while doing this entire process, so I did not..

      I always use water to clean mine then I leave the heat on so it drys up and add a layer of oil

      If you flood a hot steel with cold water it could warp, a damp rag during the process wont hurt it, but dont hit it with a hose.

      I wish I knew. My new Blackstone has a cover and still rusted. It’s really frustrating and I’ll probably never buy a Blackstone again.

      I got it at my local grocery store. You can also use Grape-seed or Peanut Oil since you can’t find flax. So glad you enjoyed the video.

    Don’t understand why everyone has to put in music on their videos, it’s not necessary even if they’re not talking. We can just listen to the natural sounds of the work being done. The music is somewhat distracting and annoying.
