    What did I do without this for so long?2 pieces of French Toast at a time ?20 minutes for 10 pancakes ?NO MOREthis griddle is awesomeTook some time to season before first use th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHM5jmQoi4dbb0hoWSBs9hPhSwXUbGVG_ did brunch and hibachi dinner on Mother’s Day and it worked like a charmSturdy, well built and heats up quick. burners2-4 were a little stubborn but then lit up.Great addition to my patio.Bought the cover and it’s great, also bought the accessories kit - scraper is good but the spatulas are flimsy to be honest that’s my only negative.

    Thank you for the video! My neighbor put a Blackstone griddle exactly like that one on the corner for trash pickup. He only had it for a year but never covered it or took care of it.
    He told me that it was junk. I did exactly what you did and was cooking on it that night.

      You can cover it and take care of it and clean it and season it after every use but they still rust like mad due the low quality steel. The best thing to do it take them to the scrap metal place and get some cash to buy one with a stainless steel cooking surface.

    I spent about 3 hours trying to clean a griddle cooktop and just barely scratched the surface. I got to thinking and grabbed my paint stripper wire brush and attached it to my cordless drill. WOW! I wish I had thought of that 3 hours earlier! Then I came across this channel and was happy to see I wasn't the only one with that idea. I'm definitely headed to Lowe's to get one of those wheels for my angle grinder!

    • @PAPATexas
      @PAPATexas  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the wheel grinder is much faster and less work. The wire wheel does work just slow for this type of job. Good Luck!

    I have a love hate relationship with my Blackstone. Hard to use frequently enough to avoid rust, but breakfast, stir fry, and Oklahoma onion burgers are such a pleasing experience.

    Did this to my camp chef 600! Better than new👍 didn’t like the coating on it and this fixed that. Used a dewlt 60 grit xp sanding disk on my grinder , took about 25 min. Washed It down and then seasoned it. Peanut oil Browns about 500f degrees and starts to season. Takes about 45 min. Thanks for the video .

    I just did this to my Blackstone. I used an 80 grit polishing wheel. It seasoned better and it’s more smooth than it was when new. Mine wasn’t rusty though. It was just built up with seasoning that was cracking and peeling off. The angle grinder and polish wheel is the way.

    You're removing metal and making it thinner.. No need just get some evapo-rust coat it all place some towels over the griddle top, leave it on for a few hours to overnight preferably where it's Sunny and hot.. you can re wet it with water to reactivate. Then just spray with water again to finish. And the rust comes right off.. lots easier and you won't weaken the might

      “You’re removing metal and making it thinner..” uh what do you think rust is doing? He’s literally taking the tiniest amount of metal off, probably less than what the rust ate away at.

    Mine has been out in the weather for three years since I bought it. Have the blackstone model from Lowes and it hasn't rusted at all. When I bought it I lathered it in oil and ran that thing for an hour or so then cooked some fatty breakfast on it. Seasons it well and have only used water and clean rag to steam clean it.

    • @PAPATexas
      @PAPATexas  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! I use bacon bits and pieces because it is cheap. To test if it is seasoned, cook something on it and taste it before you do a big family meal. If you taste a metal taste, it isn't ready yet.

      Sometimes you can use a little soap and water on some tuff spots, but immediately was it with water and heat it up to burn off the water and dry the pores out. Then add some oil to the surface and heat up.

    One channel. The guy spayed high heat paint, that you paint the out side of grills with on the underside of his griddle. Contacted him. He said the paint is holding up. That was 5 years ago. I wonder if you sprayed it on the edge of the inside of the griddle If that would Make just the cooking area. The only place that would need cleaning

    I've sanded and seasoned a crap tone of pans and I can say with some knowledge.. probably more than the average joe that sanding the 'pits' out completely is a bad idea. The seasoning needs something to stick to even if it's a very very small amount. I have cast iron pans that I cannot season no matter how hard I try but if I do the same appearance of sanding but leave some minor texture the seasoning is 100x easier and quicker to stick and stay on after cooks.

      Once upon a time, cast iron was ground to a mirror finish before seasoning. The only reason for not griding out the pits from the sand casting was to save money.

    I have a PC RO buffer/sander, variable speed. Wouldn't the correct grit sandpaper do just as well if not better?

    I was just given a brand new but poorly taken care of Blackstone by a friend. Angle grinder works great but I've got some serious pitting on about a third of the cooking surface. Thinking this won't be much of an issue once it's seasoned and cleaned over time. Thoughts?Advice?Anyone?

      You should still be okay and cook as normal.

    After resurfacing my blackstone 36 inch my seasoning keeps flaking and peeling.. what’s wrong?? Maybe I didn’t grind the top Smooth enough? Or what could my issue be??

    While watching this video I was thinking, could you start off using chemical rust remover to get the majority off?

    • @PAPATexas
      @PAPATexas  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally don't think I would want that on my flat top.
