I would really appreciate it if you could briefly compare a speaker at this level to the GR-Research NX-Treme, I'm still debating whether to invest in the borresen x series or the GR-Research NX line or "Old School" Bully🙏🙏🙏
Bass: velocity.. PHASE. For many years I have insisted that subwoofers must have adjustable or step-wise phase and not just switchable between 0º and º80º.
Those fixed 0-180° "phase" switches actually have nothing to do with phase shifting. They are just a polarity switch. You can test this with an impulse response. It's laziness with audio industry on not educating their customers, so they take the lazy way out and label it as phase to make the masses happy.
There is no impact. It's very thin. They either have the speakers too far out into the room, or set up too wide, or the room is just way too big for them. Either way, i left here unimpressed. I generally like my speakers wide, i use the 120% rule for my system, but this system was unengaging.
To see the proximity sub referenced by Arian Jansen.. Watch this video th-cam.com/video/4jyLsO1YD6k/w-d-xo.html
Anything Børresen .. haha. Im such a fanboy, I guess.. but it's warranted - they are doing some great stuff with their technology.
they sound so big,,,it is surprising how big the soundstage is

The Borresen room sounded bright to me on Friday. I liked the Von Schweikert room!
