    How refreshing it is to find a channel that doesn't assault one's senses right off the bat with loud intros and annoying "HEY TH-cam IT'S YA BOY..."
    Really appreciate your style and tone of the videos I've watched so far. Really informative and clear. Sub'd

    I was doing the cooking Baking soda thing for about a year. Decided to up my game and went to Kalkwasser. Upping my game again and moved to All For Reef. Thank you for the video. Installing a doser this weekend so I don't have to do it manually anymore.

      I'm doing both in a doser myself. Only problem is the head that doses kalk has gone bad.

    Thank you for the informative video about the All for Reef product. I just purchased a small bottle of the liquid to get started dosing my reef tank. I plan on buying the powder form since it will be much more economical to buy the powder and mix it at home. I have a small reef tank 35 gallon cube tank that I just put some coral frags in. To get started I will be dosing manually. I plan on getting a dosing pump to deliver the solution automatically as soon as i can. Everything I read or watched on youtube about this product has been nothing but great reviews. This is exactly what I have been looking for in a dosing media, simple one product additive. I can't wait to start using this and watching my corals grow.

      Thanks for the kind words. It is a great product in my opinion. One negative that I didn't mention in the video is that fact that it can sometimes have supply issues. Getting it at the LFS can be somewhat hit or miss, and Bulk Reef Supply is out of stock sometimes. Thanks again for viewing.

    • @GwonkReefkeeping

      Here's a suggestion. I've been using both for the past year or so. I use the kalk to increase my PH primarily. This has the benefit of stimulating growth. The only downside of this is I burn through AFR quicker because of the increase in growth. And thanks.👍🏾

    Slow and steady. Amazing info my friend. No one was able to explain it this clearly. Thank you so much.
    Just a question- when you saw small tanks and larger tank l, how many gallons do you consider as small tank and how many gallon is for a bigger tank. I do have a 52 gallon tank.
    Thank you in advance.

      @GwonkReefkeeping  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it. When I say small tank, my thought was something maybe 40 gallons or less. Larger tanks, I consider to be above 75 gallons. It's just my opinion, but it makes sense to me. Again, thanks.

    Great video.. what would you recommend for a total of 90 gallon water volume. 73 gallons in display tank. Liquid or powder?

    • @GwonkReefkeeping
      @GwonkReefkeeping  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Powder 100%!! It's so much more cheaper than the liquid version. One jar of the powder cost me between $40-$50, and I can make a gallon and a half with that. A liter of the liquid would cost about the same price as the jar of powder for so much less AFR.

    U must re-carbonate, resistance is futile 🙂
    I did an experiment in one of my vids adding Mag solution to Sodium Carbonate, and also to a mixture of Sodium Bicarbonate. In both experiments the sodium precipitated out a bit and dropped the ph. I brought up the subject on R2R asking how all 4 reef's formula works around this. Most came back saying they were not able to use it to raise the ph, Have you noticed this as well?

    • @GwonkReefkeeping
      @GwonkReefkeeping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First thing, I always appreciate a kindred spirit who knows about the Borg.
      My experience with all for reef is that it doesn't elevate the PH. Lou Ekus, the spokesperson for Tropic Marin has confirmed this. I wish it did, but I can live with that.
      Thanks for watching. It really means a lot to me.

    Good info. Do all tanks already have the necessary bacteria to break down the formate, or do they have to form? Also, does it stay in solution for dosing or percipetate out with time? Thanks Ed.

    • @GwonkReefkeeping
      @GwonkReefkeeping  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been wondering that same thing myself.
      I am in the middle of a lazy search for an answer. I've been wondering if increasing the population would shorten the time it takes to process the alkalinity conversion.
      Also I haven't noticed it precipitating out in the bottom of the jug I keep it in.

  • @raychowd

    Hi do I dose this every day or once a week will be fine?

    • @GwonkReefkeeping
      @GwonkReefkeeping  ปีที่แล้ว

      I dose mine every day.
      Because of the delay with AFR needing to be processed by bacteria, I think daily is best. That way you should be able to keep your levels stable.
      Thanks so much for watching!
