Fascinating! As a gay man interested in str8 men, I always wondered what brought them to the sex. Most don't think about it but accept it without impact. Most of my gay friends, of course, think it's the door to being gay and just not accepting it. I just accept the men at their word.

Yep, I see it the same way; no labels are needed; it just IS, and that's just fine with me. Many of my straight friends have actually come on to me more times than I can remember; sometimes we act on it, sometimes not. It's all good.

Whether you are a female or a male, if you think about the same sex in a sexual manner, you are either gay, lesbian, or bisexual. I would let people pass, who have thoughts but never act on it, and never would act on it. But this is a pretty black and white topic and I don’t know why anybody’s trying to blur the lines instead of trying to educate people and say just because a man has sex with a male does it mean he’s gay or bi? how about you educate people and tell them that it’s OK to be bisexual because there actually is a lot of men out here that are bisexual? Trying to blur the lines of this is like trying to blur the lines of consensual, sex, and unconsensual sex. A straight man is the man that is only attracted to women.

You clearly didn't listen to the explanation. "a straight man is the man that is only attracted to women" you say, that's the only part of your comment that's is correct.
I am straight, live with and love a woman, but I have have sex with a man mant times, Did I enjoy it? Yes. Did I fancy the guy? No, have I ever fancied any man? No. I'm not attracted to men, but I do prefer receiving anal sex than I do giving piv sex, that was a struggle with an ex partner, but now me and my wife play with different dynamics and enjoy pegging, she dresses like a sexy goddess of woman...and I don't need to have sex with men anymore, I need the act not the person.
And your right it is black and white, attraction is ones orientation, nothing more nothing less

Well, you're obviously just one of those people who have to put a label on everything, but that's often not reality. Most people are fluid in their sexuality, whether they realize it or not. Also, sex between men is just easier, more casual and relaxed with no strings, no wine and dine hassles, either.

  • @EliW95

I had same sex attraction at a young age and as a male i always had the assumption that women can be fluid in their sexuality but men must be either gay or straight. I was also homophobic in middle school because of my insecurity, but i got over it in highschool. I liked to lift weights, do athletic training, practi8ce how to fight, and i played a physically aggressive style fighting for rebounds and post scores under the basket as a basketballball player. I knew i had same sex attraction but i knew i was interested in women, the most confusing part was not knowing whether it was just a sexual attraction or a sexual attraction with a potential romantic attraction, and it was also confusing because i would watch bi male content creators and every single one i came across was feminine,, so i assumed a man cannot be bisexual without being feminine and i knew that i liked being masculine. the other thing is is that there were the 'flamer'; type gay guys at my school that i didn't want hitting on me/flirting with me because i knew i was only attracted to masculine males, so i acted weirded out by male-,male sexuality so that they would be discouraged.
i've also struggled with being bipolar and i know that hiding my sexuality has worsened my mental health over the years

So all gay and bisexual men are feminine? And men who have sex with men regularly aren’t gay or bi? If they have sex with men but are masculine as long as they say that they are “straight” they are “straight” and have to be taken at their word? Ok.
“Straight” guys but plays with penises. This is very confusing.

we all experienced that .. and sometimes it takes one life to be yourself or u act and lie to yourself a whole life !

I'm 100% gay, and yet I have had many, MANY sexual experiences with men who are straight; for their part, I really do understand them and I believe them when they say they're not gay; I KNOW they're not gay, they're just in it to get off, have fun, maybe experiment with another guy and live out some fantasies, and I get it entirely. For the last 4 years, I've been playing around with a friend of mine I have known for 15 years who has kids, loves women, etc., and we always watch straight porn, which is also fine with me, since I'm not put off by women and female genitalia. He, like all the other straight guys I've played with, just really likes the physical pleasure and the release, and it's all ok. The really beautiful thing about guys is that we can have sex with each other and it's not complicated, it's just like two buddies helping each other out, no strings.
I'm glad that the subject of "side sex" was discussed here; most of the sexual contact that I have with straight guys is all oral sex. Men also just tend to be on a different page than their female partners/wives/girlfriends are with regard to the FREQUENCY of sexual activity; I can also no longer keep count of the number of married/female partnered straight guys who tell me, "as soon as she had the number of kids she always wanted, the sex just STOPPED," and that's really sad to me; why do women just seem to lose all interest in sex at a certain point? It doesn't have to be this way, unless these women truly don't care if their guy is having sex with other guys, like it's just one less chore they have to do? I don't know, but most men really love and NEED sex, and on a regular basis. The guys I hook up with in adult bookstores and public cruising areas probably wouldn't even be there looking for no strings sex....if their wives and girlfriends would just have more sex with them!! I'm not complaining, though; I'm more than happy to take care of their sexual needs and pick up the sexual slack in their relationships with women, it's all good.

That’s why “you are always having sex with women because gay guys like you are always eating vagina and “men that are totally 100% straight are always looking for penises to play with”. I wonder what kind of mental gymnastics you do to make sense of such absurd things.
Those men are as “straight” as I’m a unicorn. “Straight guys play with penises then homosexual men must play with vaginas”. Or I could be wrong maybe those “straight men” have sex with you because you yourself have a vagina. Haha 😛

According to this theory, it would mean that there is a heterosexual gene and a homosexual gene. That's rubbish. Most men don't want to live out their homosexuality. They want to adapt to heteronormative society. These ridiculous terms like hetero and homo are nothing scientific. We are all men and are attracted to men. This attraction between men and women doesn't have to be written into our DNA, but is culturally and educationally influenced.

After women have children, their bodies change and also, their priorities change, meaning, for a time you are completely taken up with the responsibility of caring for these little humans who are completely dependent on you. You are always exhausted, etc.
Anyway, it doesn't negate the responsibility we have to engaging aexuallly with our male partners, but it can be complicated.

Fascinating. I was married to a woman for ten years, we had three children, and then she decided to leave after committing a lot of financial fraud. After that years-long trauma, I just wasn’t interested in dating and going through all that horses__t again. I quickly found a man in a similar situation (although he remained married), and we hit it off, both as friends and sex partners. I’m a little artsy-fartsy, so no one would be too shocked that I’m in a homosexual relationship. But he’s an apex kind of guy - sports, fast cars, you know the type), and people would drop down dead if they knew. We’ve been “together” for 20+ years. I never had the slightest expectation that he’d leave his wife for us to set up shop selling beads on the beach! It was just easy sex, along with outside activities like golf, wine tasting, movies. To this day, he insists he’s completely straight and that it doesn’t hurt his wife. I’m sure she’d feel differently if she knew (sometimes I think she does know, but doesn’t wasn’t to rock the boat). The funniest thing is that he’s the bottom! I know his wife and adult children very well, and I’d never say a word; but I do laugh inside with the knowledge that “if they only knew……” It’s all very simple, yet kinda complicated.

That poor woman. I hope she's fucking behind his back as well. Fair's, fair! The same situation happened to my friend at 23 years old. She found out her boyfriend of 5 years was mucking about with a man. She loved him so much as he was her safe space from a terrible abusive childhood. He loved her, but he also loved sex. So she found out, and it pushed her over the edge. She committed suicide. With your self-worth being low and being finially happy, and then suddenly the rug is swiped from underneath you, it would make the strongest of people give up. It's also that men and women look at sex differently, and that's the issue as well. But for men to still know that some things may destroy our soul and trust in not only men, but anyone from that moment on and any future relationships is a cruel thing to do. I would have to say to him that anyone that he gets to fuck I then get to fuck them after him. That would be a better deal, and it's not cheating, apparently so...

Men and women are on a spectrum. Some are most definitely at one end or the other. Many people are actually moving on the spectrum, moving along it one way or the other. What stops the journey are societal norms. Men and women have hang ups about where they want to be on the spectrum because of what they understand as normal or acceptable.

No this is ludarcrious. Just because "some" considered those women straight it doesnt necessarily mean they are. There is such a thing in exploring your sexual orientation.
But you do have an orientation. Straight men can enjoy sex with toys and other back door acts and this doesnt mean they are gay.
Vice versa gay men can still be attracted to men but not enjoy ceratin acts. Hell straight women, dont even enjoy sex with men sometimes or most of the time and this doesnt make them lesbains. Simialry, people who do have sex are automatically asexual.
There is some nuance but not that much. If you have sex with food thats a kink. If you have sex wirh only women then their lesbians. Similarly if she discovers later she is interested in men then she may then be bisexual. Simple.

I think if you have to put a label on it, what is being described is bisexuality. A person may be sexually interested in men differently than they are sexually interested in woman. If they desire sex with men and women, IMO they are bisexual.
I am MtoF trans. As I explored my gender, I became more interested in sexual relationships with men. Now since starting my transitioning I am exclusively interested in being with men.
Regardless of whom I am with, the most important thing is to make an emotional connection and share love.

In my early 20's I had seen "Bi" porn with my then GF, roomate (Female) I was surprised I felt the same as watching other porn. Flash forward years, I start enjoying more gay porn, porn with trans MTF actresses, I enjoy anal toys...I start wondering "Am I bi?". So, I start reading articles, and think, "Maybe I'm bi". Recently, I asked the question "Do straight guys have sex with other guys/straight guys?" NUMEROUS articles come up. So now I wonder if I just fell into the "Bi" idea becsuse I had not fully vet all my thoughts and ideas. I do not plan on leaving my wife to be with a man, we have GREAT sex! I just like to fantasize about being with a man, or T girl. I will keep learning about myself, and having fun at the same time.

I dont know, call me old fashioned or what , bt this talk about free for all sex that I see appearing all over the place now rather bothers me. Being gay and in a monogamous relationship for 30 years, I cannot imagine either one of us living such a life, without suffering huge consequences. If your partner cant fulfil your needs, and you cannot live with that, then move along to someone who can. A licience to cheat indescriminally is I think is a recipe for disaster for all involved, not to mention health risks and the improperness of it. We dont have to act on every desire that enters our head. If everyone did that, I would hate to see the world we would be living in. Maybe give these thoughts a second look and do the right thing. Just sayin.

I think you both need to explore if gay and bisexual men who were abused as children are more likely to have gone in that direction because of the abuse. for example, they were introduced to the pleasures of anal sex as might NOT have been if not abused and discovered that - or we not intimidated by exploring that interest - because of their experiences. In such cases it may or may not be as compulsive as with straight guys. I know a bi guy like that - who seems pretty compulsive to me - but he won't admit that cause he thinks he just likes it. Something to think about. Thanks.

I have had an inkling that I was gay from when I was 4-1/2 yrs old. I have no idea what these very sexual experiences were, but I have no doubt they were sexual and I have been hard wired that way since I was very young. The very strong fantasy was sexual play with another boy. Also, I knew I had no real sexual attraction to girls. Also, I was not effeminate. Sometime when I was around 11yrs., my brother had a Penthouse or Hustler magazine. It had photography of a very beautiful woman and two very attractive men. They were all early 20's. I was surprised I responded very strongly to the sight of the two guys. It had never happened before. I had more than my share of problems with self-esteem and being socially awkward and a scapegoat. I had no social skills and very low self-esteem. That didn't make me gay. My orientation was hard wired probably from birth in my estimation. By the way, despite my orientation, I wasn't effeminate or overtly gay. I find it hard to consider myself politically gay. I am just me. I hope my story is enlightening to someone out there. Always, Michael

Maybe you should go back to college and get you degree in human sexuality. Then you could espouse your viewpoint with a certain amount of credibility because it says, “Ph D” after your name.

@@mjbaz1 Sexual orientation is not something we are socialised into. Sexual orientation refers to sexual attraction to women, men, or both sexes. Attraction is the most accurate representation of a person’s true orientation because identity and behavior can be context-dependent. For example, someone may be attracted to the same sex, and therefore be gay, but still be engaging in sex with the opposite sex because they are not yet out of the closet. In other cases, an individual may have sex with someone as a proxy for their preferred choice of partner. The most obvious illustration of this is in prison, where there is lots of same-sex sex going on, but the inmates taking part in it aren’t necessarily gay.
Biology, not society, dictates whether we are gender-typical or atypical, the extent to which we identify as the sex we were born as, and the partners we are sexually attracted to. When sperm fertilizes an egg at conception, the baby will be either female or male. This biology will influence hormonal exposure in the womb, as well as the child’s resulting gender identity. At about seven weeks, if the embryo is male, the testes will begin to secrete testosterone, masculinizing the brain. If the embryo is female, this process does not occur. before the brain has finished developing in utero.leading to differences between the sexes. There are thousands of studies showing the effects of prenatal testosterone on the developing brain. this exposure to testosterone has a powerful effect on the ways in which male and female brains grow. testosterone exposure alters the programming of neural stem cells responsible for brain growth, leading to differences between the sexes. Gay men have had a lower exposer, hence why they have similarities in the brain to heterosexual women and lesbians have had higher exposer leading to similarities to heterosexual men. lesbian women have typically more masculine traits and more male typical than the average woman and gay men typically have more feminem traits than your average men. Researchers across a a variety of animal models (including rats, mice, and ferrets, since it’s not ethical for us to use human fetuses as test subjects), changing the amount of testosterone that an animal is exposed to changes whether they are sexually interested in same-sex or opposite-sex mates.
Studies involving girls with congenital adrenal hyperplasia are exposed to higher than usual levels of testosterone in the womb. Roughly 3 percent of girls with CAH will grow up to identify as male,10 and of those who don’t, a large proportion will identify as lesbian. The opposite is also true; children whose mothers took anti-androgenic medication (which lowers their testosterone levels) during pregnancy tend to prefer female-typical toys. Rough-and-tumble play, which is behavior typically seen in little boys, is less common in gay men and more common in lesbian women, due to lesser and greater masculinization of the brain, respectively. Sexual orientation influences gender , but gender is not synonymous with one’s sexuality. Research has shown that people who are gender-atypical (who look and behave more like the opposite sex than people who share their sex) are more likely to be gay. In the study, mothers who had gay sons-particularly those with gay sons with older brothers-had higher levels of antibodies against NLGN4Y (a protein involved in brain development in males) than did mothers who had heterosexual sons or no male offspring. This led to differences in the way the baby’s brain is masculinized in the womb. This immune response is likely only one factor among many that affect male sexual orientation, since not every gay man has older brothers, and not every man who has many older brothers is gay. But these findings fit in with the larger scientific consensus, including neuroscientific studies, showing that sexual orientation is based in biology .
The research showing that gay brains are different from straight ones showed differences in brain structure associated with being gay. Biological Studies, found that a tiny part of the hypothalamus (called the third interstitial nucleus of the anterior hypothalamus or “INAH-3”) was more than twice as large in straight men as in gay men; in gay men, it was closer in size to that of straight women.3 The hypothalamus is responsible for the four F’s: feeding, fighting, fleeing, and fornicating. these finding suggested that gay men’s brains were partially feminized, and also, that the foundation of sexual orientation is established by biology. Socialization theories, which were dominant in the 1900s, favored the idea that children were born "undifferentiated" and were socialized into gender roles and sexual orientation. This led to medical experiments in which newborn and infant boys were surgically reassigned into girls after accidents such as botched circumcisions. These males were then reared and raised as females without telling the boys, which, contrary to expectations, did not make them feminine nor attracted to men. All published cases providing sexual orientation grew up to be strongly attracted to women. The failure of these experiments demonstrate that socialization effects do not induce feminine type behavior in males, nor make them attracted to men, and that the organizational effects of hormones on the fetal brain prior to birth have permanent effects. These are indicative of 'nature', not nurture, at least with regards to male sexual orientation. There was a recent interview with a woman by the name of Sophie Ottaway who wasn't one of these published cases but was also born male and the doctors changed her gender after being botched. She is sexually attracted to women only.
There is an entire body of sexual orientation studies showing associated differences in brain function. For example, functional MRI has shown differences in patterns of brain activation between gay and straight men when viewing gay and straight pornography. The network of brain regions that are activated when gay men look at gay porn is the same network activated when straight men look at straight porn, in regions like the thalamus, which regulates sexual behavior, and the anterior cingulate, which regulates emotion. Men typically display significantly greater physiological responses to sexual stimuli depicting members of their preferred gender category and stated sexual orientation. Multiple study have shown that men's genital arousal is dependent upon stimulus features specific to their sexual interests. Stimulus features necessary to evoke genital arousal are much less specific in women than in men. heterosexual men are more aroused by female than by male sexual stimuli, whereas homosexual men show the opposite pattern. . Regarding bisexual people, a recent study compared the activation patterns of gay, straight, and bisexual men. Unlike gay and straight men, who displayed activation patterns indicative of sexual arousal when looking at images and videos of men or women, respectively, bisexual men showed similar patterns when looking at both sexes.
Most people(especially men who's purpose is to seek out a female to impregnate) are heterosexual. An organism exists to propagate its genetic material, and this is the sole “meaning” of its existence. Science has some great theories on why some men are homosexual that has to do with survival of the species because as we survive in packs an uncle can help provide for a families offspring. Another theory is while the more dominant heterosexual men(hareem holders) would go out to hunt then they would leave the women and children in the care of a homosexual male who would not mate with the females and be more trusted. If they were bisexual then this could have been a false assumption and that's a way the gay gene could have been passed on.
Another theory is that a gene only has the effect that it does in the right environment. So it could be that a gene that has the effect of causing a male to be homosexual. A a possible example would be what if bottle feeding, as it were, brings out the effect of that gene. For example lets say a breastfed boy, who has this gene, is heterosexual but a bottle fed boy, who has this gene, is homosexual. In the days before bottles were invented that gene would not have expressed itself as homosexuality. So now what we may be looking at is a different expression of the same gene. I'm not wedded to that particular idea at all, I find it a good example to get across the point that the effect of a gene is not inevitably tied to it, but depends upon the environment in which the individual is brought up. Errors are thus expected to occur everywhere, and indeed they do. This is why important genes get mutated, developmental processes get disrupted, and the results are newborns with very low fitness. That's why people are born with intersex conditions.

It is so hard now adays to pick out a straight male. You never know now as lots of them, in all shapes and sizes seem to have a secret past. I could never share my man with someone who gave him something that I could never. If i don't fulfil his needs completely and he can't reign his shit in, then we're not meant to be and he can go and live that life, whilst i find someone who has what i need. I feel men are getting hornier. I wonder if porn has a factor in this?
