I know the true capabilities of both the F-22 and Su-57 are classified so DCS is a best guess, but I can't help but think that somewhere, perhaps by both sides, a military-modded version of DCS is being used with the capabilities more accurately modeled.

Tbh I feel like the Su 57 is much more scary than the F22 because ppl tend to underestimate it severely whilst thinking the F22 is some kind of modern age Wonderweapon that is invincible to everything

Returned radar energy works on the inverse 4th power Law (inverse square outbound and inverse square returning), compound this with a very small RCS of the target and long ranges, and very little energy, if anything gets back to the SAM radar. Very hard to shot at what you cant see and when you can see, you need enough to get a solution. Thus the SAMs effective range is reduced.
ground-based missiles have to put a hell of a lot more energy into climbing to altitude and getting up to speed compared to air-to-air missiles. they also have a very static launch platform that the enemy can easily outmaneuver. they're great for point defense (at least until you get some wild weasels showing up, your location is compromised, and a few low-observable aircraft bomb you to kingdom come) but they're not a replacement for competent fighter jets.
Run your 4 ship 10 miles in trail. Have lead TWS volley 4 and go cold. Make all adversaries defend when 2 comes in and volleys 4 more and go cold. When 3 gets there, same same. And for 4 if anything is left. Try the volleying relay for a line abreast adversary.

I hope Pyotr didn't take that last shoot down personally --- it's strictly business when it comes to these big, pricey, dangerous planes. Can't let those things continue to serve in active fighter squadrons. Besides, the way GS handled things, Pyotr was able to punch out and live to fight another day.

@@amazin7006f 35 has worse twr Fuly loaded its less than .90 for f35 For felon its .97 for fully loaded Also su 57 uses older su 35 engines which are inherently problem less but the sole reason newer engines are developed is for more twr and inherently more power etc. F35 engines have started showing issues if u realise with engines having too much wear and unable to reach max stated thrust But then , it doesnt make headlines I guess
I dont know how good DCS is at modeling aspect ratio differences by facing. It might just be as simple as "this plane as this size cross section" and just a flat value like that.
Excellent video GS! Any chance of running a sim using the F-22, SU-57 and J-31 as hostiles coming to the merge in a single video? Maybe a best of 3? The differences in aircraft and tactics would be interesting to see.
It seems, with those stealth jets, that because they detect each other at close distances then the missiles fired are much more dangerous because of the close range.
In reality anti stealth radars will discover them from far away, making the stealth absolutely pointless. You could sneak around between mountains, but for that you need no stealth at all, that's just the mountains.

I emphasize conventional cause we’ve got stuff that is 1,000x more powerful than any fighter ever produced but it’s behind closed doors and is the real reason USA has over 30trillion dollar debt.
Were those AMRAAMS defective, or does the Felon really have good stealth capabilities? Wasn't the F-22 radar tracking and guiding the missile in the close range AMRAAM shots? If the Amraam pitbulled in 2-4 miles, the Su-57 must have been one helluva stealth fighter to make it lose track. Almost comparable to the F-22.
There is rather a banal difference in technology, maybe the Su-57 is not as inconspicuous as the F-22, but it has an extremely technologically advanced electronic warfare system, yet Russia has succeeded in this.
I wonder how factors like stealth are simulated in DCS. Do you think they really simulate Radar Physics or do you think its something arbitrary like "25% chance to lose track per second"

It’s a way of surrendering in a dogfight. It’s rarely ever been used, though.

The last 2 felons reminded me of top gun's migs it's a 1v2 but they came in front of gs one by one to show how much of a gentlemen they were.
