I bought this about a month ago. It's my first drone and I have to say it's a lot harder than I thought it would be but after some practicing I've gotten a lot better. I haven't gotten brave enough to try out the app function yet because I'm still getting used to the regular remote. I really wish I had watched this video before I went out for my first trial but even after a few trials, this video was super informative. Thank you so much!
When your ready to get another drone I would recommend getting a GPS Drone they are super easy to fly especially outdoors and they have failsafe features which make them a lot nerve racking to fly lol!
THIS is the ONLY video I found that has instructions that work... not even holy stone... thank you!

Hold down the button below the left joystick keep holding that button and the TAP the right joystick in the opposite direction that Drone is drifting so if it is drifting left the TAP the joystick to the right and vice versa until it levels out won't get a perfect hoover but it will be close

Get the hs-175d, it’s way better than the 440 lol 😆. Both under 250g, nice. You really do need a drone with optical flow versus one without.
Just ordered one based on your great reviews here. Never have flown anything other than a kite, wished I lived near you for some lessons!!

Why right before landing does the drone raise back up slightly again. I wasn't expecting that when I first got this drone and almost wrecked it. Is that normal?
It may have been the optical flow sensors trying to adjust the drone for a softer landing

Just got it but pairing doesnt work, i power the drone, power the controller push up and down on the left stick but still doesnt work.
Do you know how to fix it?
I haven't had that happen, make sure to pair them as soon as you turn the Drone on sometimes if you wait just a little to long it won't pair, make sure your batteries are fully charged. If you still can't get it to pair reach out to Holy Stone they have Great Customer Service support if I remember the phone number is on the manual or you can try to email them directly at usa@holystone.com
Does it have waypoint / trajectory ?
No it is not GPS it does have trace to fly in the app where you can draw a shape and the drone will fly in the pattern
I need to trim my drift. I don't have a garage nor do I have as much control over the drone as you do.
Maybe I will try in the appartment
Trimming takes some practice try to be confident about the Drone hovering in place and then just tap the appropriate joystick in the opposite direction the Drone is drifting if it is drifting a little fast tap the joystick fast just don't hold the joystick learning to tap it is the key keep practicing and am sure you will get it, if your flying it outside make sure you have little to NO wind that little thing hates wind I have to turn my ceiling fan and oscillating fan when I fly it in my house just stick with it and you'll get it!!!

You will most likely have to trim it every time but once you get used to doing it it's not hard to do, I learned by putting the Drone up and trying to control it by just tapping the joystick until I could slow the drifting down a little bit then I would start trying to trim it, try to keep your eyes on the drone while your trimming it if it looks like your going to hit a wall (or whatever) before you get the trim corrected stop trimming it and TAP the joystick to bring the Drone back to the center of the room and try trimming it again the key really is to just tap the joystick on the right side of the controller this will help you keep better control of the Drone
How high does this drone go
It is maxed at around 396ft so you don't go over the FAA max allowed hight of 400ft
This drone won’t be able to hover stable and keeps drifting away and there’s no way to trim it precisely
If there is any kind of wind or even a slight breeze , ceiling fan, oscillating fan, A/C it won't hover in place no matter how much you trim it
Ordered from Amazon and I only got 1 battery and charger.
Unfortunately that's all it cones with! There used to be away to get a free battery when you open the app and Tap on the photo Album button!
ty you for responding so fast, another question if you don't mind..1st time drone person, you mentioned the 1 touch take off, after I have it running, ( motors on) the one touch does not seem to lift up the unit? do you have to hold it on longer? ( bottom right) on remote? I haven't used the app yet
After you unlock the motors, you should be able to just tap the one key take-off and land button, if your using the GPS (HS440D) The drone will not take off until it has connected to 7 or more satellite signals, if just tapping the one key take-off doesn't work try holding the button down a little longer, otherwise after you unlock the motors, just push the left joystick up (forward) and the drone will take off, I prefer using the joystick take-off, it gives you more control.
Got it up in the air! So now trying to connect the app but for some reason it wont show up on my phone? I had downloaded the app, turned on my Bluetooth on phone, turned on both the drone and remote but will not show up on my phone? I shut my Bluetooth on and off but can not get the Holystone to show up?
It's not bluetooth, look in your wifi under available networks and you should find it there, if you don't see it, try putting your cellphone into airplane mode, airplane mode will turn your wifi off so you'll need to go back to your wifi settings and turn it back on while your phone is in airplane mode.

Dude are you seriously comparing the HS440 to a DJI? WOW! This a budget beginners drone not a $500 dollar intermediate and besides that not everyone can afford DJI!!!
