Michael I’m with you on these outrageous prices. And I agree they just sit there forever because they are priced to high. I collect Viking glass and swung vases but my collecting has slowed down because I refuse to pay those prices. I go to a local church thrift store in my town and they are starting to look up eBay prices and jacking the prices way up now. It’s definitely getting crazy.
I think you would LOVE a “ Pet Stroller” they collapse and are fairly light weight. Your fur babies are small so I think they could both fit in one. ( share) I got mine on Amazon. Enjoyed this Video! It’s always nice to see Sir Richard too ! 💕
But is it fair to expect a seller at garage sale to sell it for a dollar? Why is a garage sale different? Isn't there a more fair, low to mid range price? Why is buying at a garage sale so dramatically different that the owner can't put a decent price on what they own? And don't say 'it's a garage sale'. I am truly curious as to why this 'dollar' mentality exists.
@@susananthony2366 Oh no, I certainly think any seller, garage sale or not, should get a fair price. But I do get annoyed when they reference an EBay “ask” price, which is not always a fair price either.
I agree if they want an online price then sell online!! I dislike going to yard sales and estate sale with listing from EBay printed and out by the item.
Ive been to yard sales where they printed out ebay listings. I just walk away. I expect to pay more for ebay because there is a extra work for the seller to clean, photograph, list not to mention fees.
I respect your Honesty!!😊 You have taught me what to look for in pricing. As a collector and not a reseller I still want that deal as well. Love those fur babies.. so precious!!
I think there is a very fine balance to it. I sell at a seasonal antique show and shoppers can also be kind of crazy about what they should get things for. I try to sell things below what they sell for on-line but I still get very offensive offers. With that said, those particular malls I have only been there once when I was in the area and I will never probably go back. I am willing to pay prices as a collector, but as someone who is in this world a lot I see things and usually have a general idea of value. I think that they are looking for people in the area for other reasons who stop into the shop because it is quaint and people who are not really into the vintage/antique world on a regular basis.
It was fun shopping, you guys. The doggies are so good behaved. Did you see Misty's video where she uses a GoPro cam? Maybe something for you, too.❣️✨️
I always recommend George the antique nomad for education on vintage. I have honestly learned so much about vintage glass, pottery and other goodies from him.

I have been buying items from online auctions where possible & Maxsold which is like an online garage sale but you still have to bid. There is not cutoff because people can charge what they want to charge. At times eBay prices is cheaper than what they are in stores. As a collector I love that people are pricing up on items because it allows me to get it for a good price.
If someone wants to ask online pricing at a garage sale, it won’t sell. People can ask whatever price they want, the items will just sit. I have antique booths and I price at wholesale, I know I can’t get retail! I don’t want to list and ship because it’s no fun! I enjoy my booths

The question of well it sells it at that price on line, that depends on if it was an auction, or buy it now. And what that person wants to pay for it. That’s why EBay give 3 examples of same item at different times with different price so you have an idea if you want to price it on the high end or the middle average price or at the lower price. And when you say it sells it at a certain price on Line you also have to consider the shipping cost and taxes that eBay in your area what the tax percentage is. So with that after you add all the cost to either buy online or at an antique shop. The antique shop is cheaper. If you are just buying for your self it’s really hard to buy to flip on eBay. It’s a gamble you take either way.
I think sometime when they say well it sells for that on line well I say has it really cuz I haven’t seen the sold comps .. then they really look at me crazy cuz they don’t really know what they’re talking about
Your babies are adorable just like you both. ❤ I agree with you on pricing. Everyone says it’s sells for this or that on eBay. Good lord! Thanks for sharing. I love looking at Al the goodies. I’m not able to do the walking anymore. This is so enjoyable to me.
Except for the puppet, these places had pretty standard pieces with tourist season prices. It's getting hard for you to shop with the puppies. I have a friend who has a Gracie lookalike - he takes it everywhere in a stroller. Out to dinner - and recently, Roscoe made his debut at the theatre, It would make it so much easier for you to pick stuff up. I am about to buy one for my Gizmo. It also has storage for these places that have no baskets or carts. I agree with the online prices!
Michael I’m not sure who you’re trying to convince about your point. Why police how other vendors price, unless they are asking you for advice. It just makes it seem like you’re whining. Price how you want and allow others to do the same. Stop trying to push your ideals about pricing on others. If your pricing structure works for you than just be satisfied with that. Ultimately the buyer decides what’s realistic or not.
Pricing should reflect the market the piece is selling in. Taking into account the traffic it is exposed to, how long it will sit and if it is a popular item in that area. Online has millions of eyes looking at it, no time limit for it to sit waiting for the right customer and the number of that item available up for sale. A garage sale has limited number of eyes seeing it, limited time to be sold and limited to the tastes of the area it is being sold in. It is the opposite end of the pricing scale. If you want to sell it and get it moved in two days, it should be priced as such. An antique store or thrift store are more eyes, more days and maybe a few more available than a garage sale. Pricing should reflect that. I hate it when you go to a garage sale and they have print outs showing ebay prices. In my head I think…first they aren’t “sold “ prices, second on eBay they are seen by millions of people compared to at best maybe a hundred people and last, on ebay you have unlimited time to wait not just a Friday, Saturday, Sunday to sell it. Sometimes I see it at Antique or thrift store. It does make me chuckle to myself and silently wish them Good luck with that. 😁
If they keep saying online prices then let them put it online flea markets and antique stores are putting their prices way too high crazy I'm voting for The resellers❤❤
I so dislike the “well it sells for that online” because you aren’t selling it online, probably looking at asking, not sold, price and you aren’t delivering it to my home. 😂 Especially when the one they have is dirty, has flea bites everywhere, etc. So often people think great condition for its age when it’s really damaged.🙄🙄🙄 Luckily, there is always other places to look.i miss the old days when thrift shops and garage sales were treasure troves.
I have picker sales advertise on Facebook market place have another add mama’s flea market/picker sale. You have to search/pick to find your treasures . I ask good prices because they are quality items and need a profit and leave some meat on the bone for buyer or collector. VERY LONG TAIL SALES HAVE TO PUT UP WITH A LOT OF CLUTTER. I KEEP ALOT TOO I BUY SELL TRADE KEEP. Home is storage no storage fees. NEED HELP NEED TO HAVE A HUGE ESTATE STALE/PICKER SALE WANT MY HOME BACK
I agree with your pricing opinion.
I agree 100% online prices are for online audience! Garage sales do not get online #'s... prices or audience!

Seriously? Sweet, very well-behaved doggos not allowed in? Please. 🙄
