We in southeastern NC usually get the tornados. Me and my cat Booger have been through 2 hurricanes, 2 tornados and a hellacious hail storm. He gets terrified when it starts thundering and lightning and the wind picks up. I do too. It’s already saturated here and the last thing we need is more water and wind.

Great my wife was adamant about going away and wanted to go to Harbour Island ASAP even with me saying it’s hurricane season. Looks like we may be ok for an August 25th departure out of Boston but who knows if flights will be in scrabble mode leading up to us leaving 😳
Ultimately what is determined if this is going to be impact is the strength of the jetstream if it’s stronger and faster it, it will deflect it, but if it’s slow and weaker, then it could get pulled to the north west and that could potentially be a US impacted

It's been a long time for a direct hit to Cape Cod and SE Mass. When I look at 20th century history, we have never gone this long (over 30 years) for a hit. I think we are well overdue.

I think the Carolinas should keep an eye on Ernesto. The Outer Banks,NC has a vulnerable appearance because it stands out.
