I'm back again. For anyone having a tough time with regular PVC cards, I suggest a temp of 356f for 70 seconds, then let the cards cool before handling because PVC melts at 320f. I use a sheet of aluminum on top once it I have opened the heat press. This keeps the cards flat while helping to absorb the heat away and cool the cards quicker. TAKE YOUR TIME, BE SLOW AND PATIENT. Because the PVC melts, the texture of paper will transfer to the PVC cards AS WELL as a layer will stick. Once you peel the paper from the cards, soak them in warm water and wash them with soap. Use the cards to scrap the surface of the edges while in the soapy water. Sometimes cards need a second bath. Sublimation PVC cards are better but if you don't know what to do with your regular PVC cards, it's just more work for not a best but still okay look.
I want to buy PVC card for this job but the supplier is asking if i need coated PVC cards or uncoated types. Coated means smooth with a light film. Uncoated means a little rough.
I tried doing that successfully but the cards used to come out bent and not straight. Can you give me more information. Are these same cards used in thermal sublimation printers that use ribbons?
