      So many people people only think of the sexual end of it all. Look at you guys holding hands and smiling in the video. its just plain and simple pure beauty. To be honest as a man who supports your happiness this video opens my eyes on my own taboo with gay couples. I always had a hard time watching them kiss, You guys opened my eyes to the idea that it needs to happen more because if it did than people like myself would not feel as awkward about it. Just keep smiling and spreading love and the world will love you back. thanks for the response.

    Why do some guys get so aggressive about a gay couple. I mean how insecure must they be to become aggressive? So primitive. It's as if they see it as a threat. But then, a threat to what? Their own "masculinity". Clearly those guys in the other videos who were aggressive towards the couple have deeper underlying issue they are unable to confront. No normal secure and sane person would act like that.

      Even though I think Arab countries look cool, I feel sorry for you to feel like you can't be who you are. I don't know your situation, but I know even being gay can be punished, which is completely ridiculous.
      I live in Belgium, and I feel like the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal (all connected to each other) are definitely far ahead of any country with LGBT laws.
      I even think Spain and Portugal might be the best.
      Fun fact: gay marriage is legalized in the Netherlands in 2001 (1st in the entire world) and in Belgium in 2003 (2nd). Kind of sad that it took so freaking long and that there are still people in 2016 that think it's wrong.

    Thank you so much for making this video !! Im from belgium and i have a girlfriend in portugal, we where super free here in belgium not a single person said something bad nor stared bad at us (except one french woman in the plane) but when we are together in portugal my girlfriend is scared to hold hands in lisbon nor kiss me and now she saw the video of both of you (and so did i) and she gave me the next reaction
    "*shocked* I never knew people were so...positive here. I'm truly surprised. I seriously think my ''fear'' created a bad image. ...we should SERIOUSLY try it. ...why am I strangely more...confident?"
    I'm really happy that you two made my girlfriend more confident something i couldn't do alone with words. So thank you so much you changed or lives and once i see her in December i'll be sure to think of you both for the courage you give everyone !

    It's because Portugal has nice people in general. They were looking at you because of the height difference - that really makes you stand out. Or perhaps they fancied you. Whatever way, it's a far cry from Kiev and Moscow. And let's not even begin with Africa and the Arab countries.

    • @Jorge23Costa

      docdespair Yes please! Outside of Berlin and Köln it's not too common to see it. But I hear it's getting less and less common in Berlin because of recent crimes... sometimes I really wonder if it's truly getting better.

    • @docdespair792
      @docdespair792 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carsten B I think it depends on where one goes... there are quarters in Cologne where you should never go hand in hand as a same-sex couple, especially not after dawn. Homophobic crime is a problem... but on the other hand the society has become more and more tolerant and accepting. 20 years ago we would never have had a majority for gay marriage and adoption. But I totally agree... what happens on the streets - and homophobia among teenagers - is a problem. That's why the new curricula where children learn a little about homosexuality and human rights are so important.

    • @carstenb3827
      @carstenb3827 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      docdespair Oh yes I've been reading about that, the Bildungsplan that the CDU/AfD is trying hard to set back. I really hope it goes through. Unfortunately just a single incident on the streets takes a lifetime of achievements away.

    • @docdespair792
      @docdespair792 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carsten B It has already gone through and won't be set back, at least in Baden-Württemberg. The petition was noticed, but didn't change anything. What do you mean when you say that this takes a lifetime of achievements away?

    • @carstenb3827
      @carstenb3827 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      docdespair I mean that every time there is a gay bashing, I start to question whether we really did come this far or not. The fact that a lot of the homophobia is coming from teenagers, the generation which is supposed to be a lot more accepting, means that we didn't come far enough.

      I`m not even talking about gays parading or something like that, I`m talking about simple respect for such people. In Russia if u r gay, u can`t even go for a walk with your partner holding his/her hand, `cause u`ll be miscalled, threaten or even beaten and I`m not
      exaggerating. U can`t tell anyone about your orientation because you are in danger to be abused by people after it, you live in a constant fear. Most teenagers don`t even tell their parents about their orientation, `cause their parents can kick them away from their house. And this is a really serious problem.
      P.S. Why "you care about yourselves"? Why do you think I`m gay, lol? I`m not, by the way. I just DO care about other people. And I`m so tired of living in this cruel, silly society.
